Welcome to our profile…we are so excited that you have considered joining us on this journey! We look forward to growing our family through adoption and cannot wait to see the future child with whom God blesses our family.

We are a big-hearted, passionate couple ready to nurture and share our lives with a child. We enjoy trips to the beach, exploring new places, trying new foods and spending time with family. We value education, health and learning, and look forward to understanding who our child is and encouraging them to use the talents and gifts they possess to move towards their passions.

About Us

We met through a mutual friend in 2019 and knew very quickly that there was a strong connection that we yearned to deepen. We then had to navigate COVID shutdowns, which only strengthened our resolve to spend the rest of our lives together. We were married in 2021 in Santa Cruz, CA and have enjoyed growing and learning more about each other with every passing day. One of the things we learned in the past couple years was our ability to conceive naturally is very unlikely. We knew this might be the case even before marriage, and we had also discussed our desire to adopt and our excitement about this being a possible way for us to grow our family.

We enjoy activities our area has to offer such as:

  • Hiking the many scenic trails
  • Visiting Flea Markets
  • Trying new restaurants
  • Watching sporting events
  • Visiting the beach

We also love to travel, and look forward to experiencing new cultures, local, national and around the world, with our child in the future.

About Beth (By Doug)

I cannot fully describe Beth here, but I have never met a person who loves as much as Beth does. She is the most sensitive, caring person I have ever met, and I know that she will be an amazing mother. She loves spending time with friends and family, going on outdoor adventures, and cooking (both trying other people’s recipes and experimenting on her own). I can’t wait to see all the things that Beth looks forward to sharing with our child, from discovering new things about the world and exploring her love of other cultures to showering them with as much love as they can handle.

Beth was born and raised in the Bay Area and went to college with the intention of becoming an interior designer. After graduation she felt called into ministry and outreach and decided to dedicate herself to helping others. Beth spent years living abroad both in outreach programs in France and as a chaperone for the African Children’s Choir. She has a love for foreign countries and cultures and cannot wait to share this love with a child. She currently works as an administrative assistant for a non-profit that helps high achieving, low-income students attend top colleges, but has recently been training to become a life coach, which should happen in 2024.

About Doug (By Beth)

Doug is a big-hearted teddy bear of a man who is fiercely devoted to his loved ones. He is my biggest fan, and loves me for who I am. He supports and encourages me in striving towards my own passions and will do all he can to ensure I am taken care of. This love for me extends to all his friends and family. He is adored by our many nieces and nephews of all ages. He loves to get down on the floor with them for wrestling or tea parties. I love watching him play with them and how they shout, “Uncle Doug” and run to him as he walks through the front door.

Doug’s mind is strategic, and his passions extend to games of many kinds. He will geek out about video games, board & card games, football and baseball. Football is his biggest passion, and he looks forward to sharing its traditions with our child.

Doug is trained as a child psychologist, giving him a great understanding of the inner workings of others. Life led him to working at his family’s sign business, where he works hard to ensure the business thrives. Doug is so excited to be a dad, and I know he will be an amazing father to our child. I can’t wait to watch him hug, cuddle and encourage our own little one to become the amazing human he or she is meant to be.

About Our Family

We look forward to welcoming a new addition to our family, and our child growing up and interacting with their many cousins, aunts, uncles and grandparents. We are fortunate to have a large part of our extended family living in close proximity to us, which allows us to gather and spend quality time together. We also have friends with large families that are excited about our child getting to know and interacting with their children.

We also have family living in Arizona, Texas, Missouri, Washington DC and Philadelphia, and are looking forward to traveling with our child to visit our nationwide family. We love having family living nearby our home and family we can visit in other parts of the country. We generally see local family several times per month and our family living further away several times per year.

We love getting together to celebrate holidays and family life events. From special birthday dinners and pizzelle to rouladen and easter egg hunts – we enjoy sharing in our family food and gathering traditions.

About Our Home in California

Our cozy apartment is a modest retreat in the heart of Silicon Valley, surrounded by rich experiences and easy access to nature and beautiful scenery. The area we live in is very culturally diverse and our child will have access and exposure to a variety of different opportunities for adventure.

We are within walking distance of parks, amazing restaurants, theaters, shops and schools. Museums, theme parks, water sports, city adventures, concert venues and professional sporting events are a short drive from our home.

One day we hope to welcome a family pet into our home as well, and we will love sharing this process of adding this new family member with our little one.

Our Promise

We promise to love your child unconditionally, and learn who they are at their core. We want your child to have every opportunity to discover their deepest passions, and will encourage them in pursuing their interests so he or she becomes who they are created to be.

We both grew up in the church and look forward to raising our child to know they are deeply loved by God, and to love others no matter who they are or where they come from.

We have a deep love of art, music, science, history, sports and charity, and can’t wait to share our own passions with your child. We were lucky enough to pursue higher education, and will support your child’s educational journey as well… no matter what that journey might look like.

If it is your desire, we are open to sharing regular updates on the growth of your child with you through letters, phone calls, photos and occasional visits at your comfort level.

We have so much love to give and cannot wait to shower our child with all the love we possess.

We’d love to talk or answer any of your questions. Please call or text Lifetime at 1.800.923.6784.

More About Our Family

Our Special Interests

*Beth loves painting, drawing, cooking, baking, sewing, working with clay... the list goes on. Her creative interests seem to have no end! From Christmas cookies to homemade playdough, she grew up attacking many creative endeavors with her mom and looks forward to sharing in similar creative pursuits with her own child... especially on the back porch of the cabin. Beth also grew up dancing, and spent 13 years in jazz, tap and ballet. She loves going to the symphony, opera, plays and musicals (her favorite)!

*Doug is a lifelong sports fan, especially football and baseball. He enjoys watching and attending 49er and Giants games and going to the various sporting and dance events of our nieces and nephews. He also enjoys outdoor activities such as camping, fishing and hiking. Doug enjoys playing video games in his spare time and has been a long time Magic the Gathering player with his friends.

The Cabin

Beth's family has a remote cabin in the mountains. While at the cabin, there are many trails and paths to hike and explore, and many lakes and rivers to swim in. Built over 100 years ago, the cabin is 1 of 20 in an old loggers camp built to house foreman for the construction of the Hetch Hetchy dam about 45 minutes from Yosemite Valley. The back porch is the cabin's living room and is a wonderful place to paint, draw, get crafty, or settle down with a good book or snooze on the porch swing. It is an excellent place for a child to learn practical skills like raking pine needles and chopping wood, alongside learning about and gaining a deep appreciation for God's beautiful creation. We look forward to showing our child places to explore, making mud pies, and discovering animal tracks, creeks, lakes and so many more wonders of nature.

Our Musical Interests

*Doug is a lover of most musical genres but has a special affinity for classic rock and late 80's/early 90's hip hop. His favorite artist is Eric Clapton, and his favorite band is Volbeat. Doug has several guitars which he plays, but not very well. Doug can tell you artist names, songs artists sing, and sing along with all the correct lyrics.

*Rock, classical, hip-hop, jazz, a little country--Beth appreciates it all. She knows what she likes, though isn't the pop culture encyclopedia who always knows the names of artists or songs. Having danced for 13 years, Beth also loves musical showtunes. She loved her time onstage and in dance class and relishes any opportunity to see Broadway or off-Broadway performances live.

The San Francisco Bay Area

We love the Bay Area and all it has to offer. From the scenic beach views to the hills and mountains of the inland area, there are so many amazing places to visit and learn about. We are close to San Francisco, zoos, theme parks, concert venues, and so much more. We are also a short trip away from such amazing places as Yosemite National Park, Napa Valley, Monterey Bay and its awesome aquarium and more. Your child will have so many opportunities to experience everything in this vast and wonderful location, and we look forward to sharing adventures with them.

In Closing

Thank you so much for taking the time to look at our profile and considering us as potential parents for your child. We have so much love to give and cannot wait to share that love with a little one and watch him or her grow. We hope that what you learned here today will give you an idea of who we are, and we look forward to speaking with you if you feel we may be the right parents for your child. We look forward to hearing from you and answering any questions you may have. We pray God's blessing over you.

With all the love we have,
Doug and Beth
