Hello from Oklahoma! We have been married 10 years and are parents to 2 young boys, ages 7 and 4. We have always felt called to adopt and discussed it even before getting married. Now that both of our kids are in school, we feel it is time to expand our family through adoption. Both of Eric’s siblings have adopted and we have a large extended family here in Oklahoma. Some of our family even lives in our neighborhood! Our family is a great support and all of us are excited to welcome another member into our homes. We hope to get to know you and look forward to hearing what you would like for an open adoption.

About Us

We met on a co-ed softball team. (Eric was late and very sweaty, yet Kayla still talked to him. Ha!) We have been married 10 years and have 2 busy boys who like all things sports and superheroes. Our faith and our family history of adoption have led us to want to grow our family this way. We enjoy hiking, playing in the yard, skiing, going to movies, as well as watching and playing sports.

We look forward to growing our family and showering another child with love and affection. Our boys will be amazing big brothers, and our entire family is excited to meet the child we adopt.

About Kayla

According to Eric: Kayla is smart, quick-witted, and funny. I like her competitiveness, openness to new ideas and adventures, and her devotion to family time and creating a loving home. As a mom she tries to be a good role model to our children, teaching them kindness, grace, and how to show love to others.

Kayla is a physical therapist and works at a local hospital. She enjoys helping patients learn to walk again and assisting them in their journey to healing. Kayla loves sports, especially basketball. She loves surprising the neighbor kids by spinning a basketball on her finger and beating Eric in the carnival style basketball games. She also enjoys:

  • Running
  • Swimming
  • Concerts
  • Reading

About Eric

According to Kayla: Eric is the definition of kindness and genuinely cares for others. He is smart, funny, always looking to learn new things, and can fix anything! Eric will help anyone, at any time, even when its inconvenient. He has an infectious smile and loud laugh. He is an amazing dad and always tries to be the best role model for our boys. Eric looks forward to watching a new child develop their own personality and grow into their purpose.

Eric is an engineer at a local refinery. He likes that his job allows him to learn how machines work and solve problems. Some of Eric’s hobbies include:

  • Exercise
  • Home repair and remodeling
  • Playing sports
  • Riding bikes with the kids
  • Growing the perfect lawn

Our Family

We have two boys. Caleb, 7, and Ethan,4. Caleb is structured and likes his hair combed neatly. Ethan is imaginative and more of mohawk type of guy. They are both active in sports, love the Avengers, and enjoy trips to the park and zoo.

Kayla’s parents live in town and her brother lives in our neighborhood. We see them several times per week. Eric’s parents and 2 siblings live within a couple hours drive.  We see Eric’s family every few months and nearly every holiday. We keep in touch often with FaceTime and texts. Of our 14 nieces and nephews, 7 are adopted. Our whole family is excited to add another seat at the table for the child we adopt.

We look forward to including a new family member in:

  • Vacations
  • Watching The Grinch ALL December
  • Sunday family lunches
  • Summertime sleepovers with cousins

Our Home in Oklahoma

We live in a 4 bedroom home in an Oklahoma suburb. We have a 2 year old dog, named Bandit, who is great with our kids. The local elementary and middle schools are just across the street. We are close to shops and restaurants and only 15 minutes to downtown arenas, science museums, the zoo, and many other attractions.

Things we LOVE about our home:

  • Upstairs playroom
  • Family within a 5 minute walk
  • Fishing pond directly behind the home
  • Large yard with play set
  • Neighborhood splash pad and swimming pool
  • Space to play in our cul-de-sac without traffic

Our Promise

As adoptive parents, we promise to love both you and the child. We strongly believe that everyone deserves love and an opportunity to succeed. We will allow this child to develop their own ideas and personalities. Our parents were teachers and our children’s education is important to us. We’ve already planned college funds to help with college for all our kids. We look forward to watching our children grow into thoughtful and kind adults.

We are excited about developing a relationship with you and we want to partner with you in this journey. We believe having an open line of communication with you is important to the health of both yourself and the child. If you’d like to stay in touch, we would gladly welcome and honor future contact with you.

More About Our Family

A Typical Weekend For Us

We always plan on sleeping in on Saturdays but usually one of our children will wake us around 7:00 AM! From there, they will usually talk us into making pancakes or a trip to the donut shop. We lounge around the house in our PJs and watch cartoons before the kids' sporting events. After their games, we usually come home and watch our favorite college sports team. The kids will play outside in some way, either in our cul-de-sac or at the local park. On Sundays we go to church and then eat lunch at Kayla's parent's house and the cousins play together. Sunday nights are busy prepping for school the next day.

Our Faith

We are Christian and active members of our church. We believe God wants us to show love and compassion to everyone and calls on us to care for children in need. Eric volunteers on the tech team and helps run the sound board for service. Kayla volunteers teaching children's church.

In Closing

We would love to partner with you in providing a loving home to a child. Our boys are so excited to be big brothers.
