Watch Our Video

Hi from beautiful North Carolina! Our family loves to be together, from cozying up on the couch to read books or getting outside in one of our many local parks. Teamwork is a word spoken often in our home – Gabe, Caitlin, and even our daughter, Eliza, all work to support each other through service and encouragement in everyday life, such as making dinner together or bigger accomplishments like jumping off of the high dive at our local pool. We value community and are grateful to be surrounded by family and friends who are eager to meet and love on our next child. Our faith is foundational to us and has carried us through many griefs and joys in our individual lives and our 10 years of marriage.

We are honored that you would get to know us more and consider us to raise your child. We hope we get the honor of getting to know you as well.

About Us

Together, we are each other’s consistent support and companion. Over our ten years of marriage, we have enjoyed traveling across the US and abroad, developing deep friendships, and laughing along the way. Our four-year-old daughter, Eliza, has been a joyful addition to our crew and we cannot wait to add another adventurer through adoption! In our free time, you will find our family at one of our local parks, hiking, hanging out in the driveway with neighbors, or eating something yummy around town. When it’s just the two of us, we love to play board games, watch sitcoms, and talk over dessert. We also love to travel, and we find a local donut shop in every place we visit.

Our faith is foundational for our family. We attend church weekly and are involved through serving on set-up and greeting teams, volunteering with youth, and are part of a community group. Our church family has been an incredible support throughout our individual lives and relationship together. We have chosen adoption as a reflection of God’s adoption of us through the Gospel and are honored to be considered by you on your journey.

About Caitlin (written by Gabe)

Caitlin loves having time and space to explore things. When given the opportunity, she’ll take a slow Saturday to enjoy a good book and tend to her plants. She’s always exploring ways for us to improve how we do things as a family and has already started thinking about how our rhythms will change once we add another little one. She has never met a stranger – if I step away in the supermarket, I will come back to see Caitlin chatting it up with the next person in line. Caitlin has a love of art, being present, and taking time to enjoy a good meal. She also loves to dance to literally anything with a beat! She is eager to add another child to our family and celebrate them for who they uniquely are.

About Gabe (written by Caitlin)

Gabe loves to be active through biking, working out, and playing disc golf. He enjoys learning about these hobbies and dives in deep. On the weekend, I’ll often find him tinkering with his bike or organizing his discs in the garage, and he has found ways for our daughter, Eliza, to join in as well. She is right next to him, handing him tools and asking questions about how things work. He can’t wait to have another little one (or ones) out there with him as well. Gabe often rides his bike to pick up Eliza from school and she can’t wait to have a buddy in the bike trailer with her. Gabe will take almost any opportunity he has to spend time outside all year round, and he often explores new places through parks, walking, and hiking.

Our Family

Our daughter, Eliza is four years old; she is very observant, creative, and active! She loves to ask people questions and is already so thoughtful for her age. Some of her favorite things to do are go swimming, read books, and work on different art projects. She can’t wait to share all of this with our next child(ren)!

We moved to North Carolina a few years ago and are blessed to be surrounded by lots of extended family. Aunts, uncles, cousins, grandparents, and great-grandparents are all in the area! Your child will experience so much love from these family members as they grow up. Additionally, both of us have family that lives across the country and our children will enjoy making memories with these family members through beach vacations, weekends in the city, and just time around many different dinner tables.

Outside of our families, we have also developed close relationships with “chosen family” over the years through deep friendships. Several of our close friends and church members have adopted children! Your child will grow up with so many built-in friends through these relationships.

Our Home and Neighborhood in North Carolina

We live in a 1960s split-level house in a neighborhood filled with trees and wildlife. We love the layout of our house because it always feels like everyone is together no matter where each person is. We have two large living spaces, as well as 4 bedrooms and a dedicated office for Gabe. Although our daughter is begging to share a room with her new sibling(s), we have a nursery in the works right across the hall from our primary bedroom and right next to her room. We have a large, flat fenced in backyard with plenty of room to play, as well as a garden out front. We love that our city is just a few hours from both the mountains and the beach–we have taken advantage of this and make trips to both a couple times a year.

We love our neighborhood! We regularly walk with friends on the quiet streets or ride bikes and scooters in the cul-de-sacs. We also can walk to two of our favorite eateries–a quirky Mexican restaurant where we are regulars and a yummy local ice cream shop. We are grateful to have several close friends with kids in the neighborhood and we get together with them at least once every week. During the summer, we are at our neighborhood pool several times per week swimming with friends. Our friends in the neighborhood have already been asking excitedly about when the newest member of our family will be coming, and they can’t wait to meet them! Your child will be surrounded by a community of people loving on them.

Our Promise

Your child will be surrounded and supported by people who love them. We have a village of family and friends who are excited and eager to join in on that calling as well. We have felt the call to adopt for several years and are overjoyed to be on the journey to grow our family through adoption. We will value and encourage your child’s unique interests and strengths, as well as get them any additional resources they may need in order to thrive. We will share our faith with your child and pray they will always know and experience the deep love God has for them. Your child will know their story and you will be a celebrated character in that story. We hope to develop and maintain a relationship over the years with you, in whatever way is most comfortable for you. We are praying for you as you make plans for you and your child.

We’d love to talk or answer any of your questions. Please call or text Lifetime at 1.800.923.6784.

- visiting somewhere new downtown
- watching a good movie

Our Faith

We have been connected to a faith community for our entire relationship, and faith is foundational to our family. We attend our church weekly, volunteer in different capacities, and Gabe is a member of the leadership for our church's youth group. At home, we cherish singing hymns together and can't wait for our next little one's voice to join in. Eliza attends chapel at her preschool and comes home sharing stories of God's love and care for His people. We will share our faith with your child, will pray with and for them, and they will be surrounded by a village of people doing the same.

Education and Childcare Plans

Education is a high value of ours, and we truly see teachers and childcare workers as teammates in raising our children. Our daughter currently attends a full-time pre-school based out of a local church, and we plan to have our next child attend there as well. The classes are small and each person in the building gets to know the children individually.

One of the reasons we chose and love where we live in North Carolina is the public schools. We plan to have our children attend our local school, which is right down the road and offers a foreign language immersion program. However, if this isn't the right fit for our children, there are many school options in our area so that we can find the best school that will support their growth and happiness.

Our Musical Interest

We both listen to music almost constantly, and dance parties are a regular occurrence with soundtracks from hip hop to musicals and ABBA to Taylor Swift. We have a growing record collection and have been to many live shows together and individually over the years.

Gabe's top musical categories:
- favorite concert: Penny and Sparrow at the Ryman
- dream concert: Sigur Ros in Iceland
- soundtrack for a Saturday: Jeff Buckley
- pump up soundtrack: King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard

Caitlin's top musical categories:
- favorite concert: Ben Folds and Cake
- dream concert: Beastie Boys
- soundtrack for a Saturday: Ben Folds - The Best Imitation of Myself
- pump up soundtrack: Taylor Swift

In Closing

Our family is overflowing with love and laughter that we hope to share with you and your child. We look forward to your child joining in on slow Saturdays, outdoor adventures, and neighborhood friendships. Your child will be nurtured and encouraged in their unique personality, and their story (which includes you!) will be celebrated. We are praying for peace, clarity, and courage as you make this decision, and we hope to begin a relationship with you soon.
