Hi! We’re honored and happy to share a little about the life we’d love to give to a child. It means so much to be considered as adoptive parents for your child. We’re a loving, Puerto Rican couple who now live in Virginia. Our Catholic faith is central to our marriage, and we value growing stronger through love, respect, support, compassion, and understanding. We’ve always dreamed of having children and have been through fertility challenges. We love kids and cherish time with our godchildren, nephews, and nieces. Coming to adopt has renewed hope in our hearts about becoming parents! We are excited about adopting our first child and would love to learn more about you and your little one.

¡Hola!

Our Story

We met in Puerto Rico while working together; Kelly as a nutritionist and Gabe as a Food Service Assistant Director. We connected over our passion for family and food! We’ve been married 11 years and moved to the U.S. 9 years ago for work. We love the life we’ve built here, while staying connected to our loved ones in Puerto Rico.

We both enjoy:
• Hosting family and friends at our home
• Cooking new and traditional dishes
• Baking
• Biking
• Game nights
• Going to the beach
• Finding good shows to watch together
• Attending church for Sunday Mass
• Gardening and home projects
• Walks with our dog

Our Home in Virginia

We live in Northern Virginia, close to our jobs, the DC area, and many great restaurants. Our community offers excellent schools, medical care, and interesting things to do, such as museums, parks, the library, and plenty of shopping. We love the rich history in this area too! Our three-story townhouse has an open layout, lots of natural light, a courtyard and a balcony. We will turn one of our three bedrooms into our child’s nursery when we know more about him or her. Our neighborhood is great because we can walk to trails, parks, the playground, school, daycare, restaurants, and the community center with a gym and a pool. It’s a safe, close-knit area where neighbors look out for each other.

Our Dog: Maty is our Yorkie-Maltese mix who is small, loving, playful, and gentle. We’ve had her since she was about a month old and she is such a sweet girl.

Our Family

Since most of our extended family lives in Puerto Rico, we are grateful to have childhood friends who live here, along with wonderful neighbors, who are like family to us. We stay closely connected and supportive to each other. Kelly comes from a large family (she has 40 first cousins!) and Gabe comes from a smaller family. Each of us have brothers who live in Virginia as well. We have two nieces and two nephews, and we enjoy staying involved in their lives. We also have a lot of cousins in Puerto Rico, along with Kelly’s sister and Gabe’s father, who we love to visit as often as we can. Our families (and friends-like-family) enjoy gathering for any reason and always look forward to time together. The child we adopt will be a cherished part of our whole family!

From Our Hearts

We chose adoption because we want to share the blessings we’ve received with a child, and to provide love, support, and compassion as a mom and dad. We promise to nurture and build a lifelong bond as a family, and to help your child reach his or her full potential. We will always hold honor, love, and respect in our hearts for what it took for you to choose us to become your child’s adoptive family.

As parents we will guide our child to make good choices, become independent, dream big, work hard toward their goals, and find happiness in life, while having God at the center. We will nurture out of love and respect and build our child up to have strong self-esteem. From the beginning, we will be honest with him or her about how we became a family through adoption, and about who you are and what you mean to us. We will keep our commitment to you, including if you want updates, annual visits, or ongoing connection with us through open adoption.

Thank you for considering us as adoptive parents for your child. We’d love to hear from you: call or text Lifetime at 1.800.923.6784.

More About Our Family

Fun Facts About Us

Kelly loves the arts, especially dance! She started dancing at age 6 and continued until she was 18. Kelly was a part of a Catholic youth dance group where she became an instructor of traditional Puerto Rican dances. They toured the island performing folkloric dance! To this day, she still enjoys music and dancing for fun at home.

As a child, Gabe dreamed of becoming a manager and even asked his father for a desk to play manager at home. His childhood “managerial” experience has carried him through different times where he’s worked in leadership roles!

Our Values

We believe in God, cherish our family and friends, and value honesty, integrity, and faithfulness. Helping others and building a sense of community are also important to us.

Family Traditions

• Taking family vacations every year to visit loved ones and the beach, especially in Puerto Rico
• Visiting family for special occasions, like birthdays, and all the holidays (including Valentine’s Day!)
• Cookouts, dinner parties, and game nights with friends and neighbors

Typical Weekend with Us

On the weekends we like a balance of productivity, relaxation, and quality time with loved ones. We start by taking care of our home, working on projects, running errands, and gardening to keep everything in great shape. One of our favorite weekend traditions is baking fresh bread for the week and preparing delicious meals to share with family and friends. Hosting and cooking for loved ones brings us joy, but we also enjoy visiting them to catch up and spend quality time together. Whether at home or out with family and friends, our weekends are filled with warmth, good food, and meaningful connections.
