Hi there! We’re thrilled to share our story with you. Our 9 years of marriage have been filled with love, laughter, and adventures, and we can’t wait to welcome a new child into our family.

Hysun works from home in cybersecurity and is pursuing his second master’s degree. Kimberly homeschools our youngest child and volunteers with animal rescues. Family time is everything to us, whether we’re traveling, cheering each other on, or encouraging our kids to pursue their passions.

Our home is brimming with silliness, affection, and unconditional support – the perfect environment for a child to flourish. We look forward to sharing our love and adventures with a new family member.

About Us

In February 2015, we found each other’s profile on an online dating site. We had a 99% match and quickly fell in love. Two months later, Hysun proposed, quoting Kimberly’s favorite show, Doctor Who, promising “the trip of a lifetime together.”

We had a small, perfect wedding with our kids, Caitlyn and Samuel, beside us. Though they’re from Kimberly’s previous marriage, Hysun and the kids have an incredible bond. We’ve been a family for nine years, building a life that suits us all.

Weekly dinner dates and quality time together keep our relationship strong. We love trying new restaurants and cooking meals together at home. At the end of the day, we enjoy cozy movie nights, playing games, and reading side by side – it’s a great way to unwind and have some friendly competition. On weekends, we attend local festivals and events, always on the lookout for new experiences to share.

Hysun and I support each other’s interests too. He cheers me on as I work on my latest quilting project, and I’m always eager to hear about the new things he’s learning about AI.

Meet Kimberly

Growing up in a military family blessed me with a kaleidoscope of experiences and adventures. Through each move, the unwavering love and support of my family remained constant.

One of my best friends was my mother, who homeschooled me from 6th grade through graduation. Her nurturing guidance instilled in me a profound love for learning that I now share with my own children.

I find joy in reading, crafting, and hiking in nature. Game nights with family and friends are some of my most cherished memories.

Homeschooling my children has allowed me to foster their curiosity and provide them with enriching, self-directed learning experiences. Volunteering with animal rescues, particularly bottle-feeding tiny kittens, has filled my soul in unimaginable ways.

My deepest aspiration is to create a home overflowing with warmth, love, learning, creativity, and joyful laughter. Welcoming a precious child through adoption would be the fulfillment of a long-cherished dream, and I am excited to embrace the incredible journey of nurturing and guiding a new little heart through life’s adventures.

Meet Hysun

I work in computer security and am a Marine Corps veteran. I love learning new things and have three college degrees. Right now, I’m working on getting another one!

My job is important to me, but what makes me happiest is spending time with my family. We love watching movies and TV shows together, and we have fun playing board games and video games.

I have many hobbies that keep me busy. I enjoy working with computers, especially creating software and learning about artificial intelligence. I also like playing video games and practicing the marksmanship skills I learned in the Marine Corps. Sometimes, I give talks at the library to teach people about technology.

My biggest dream is to create a loving home where our children can grow and learn. I want to help them find what they’re passionate about and support them in following their dreams. I promise to be patient, understanding, and always loving. I’ll be there to cheer for their successes and help them learn from tough times. Together, we’ll make a home full of laughter, learning, and lots of great experiences.

Our Family

Our family is a beautiful blend of personalities and shared joy. Caitlyn, our ambitious 19-year-old, loves animals, drawing, and video games while pursuing her dreams in college. Samuel, our energetic 16-year-old, has a passion for math, space, world mythologies, and dreams of becoming an astronautical engineer.

Together, we cherish our time at church and youth groups. Caitlyn and Samuel also enjoy weekly pickle ball and DnD adventures with friends. Their quick wit and humor bring constant smiles, and they’re thrilled about welcoming a younger sibling.

Though our extended family lives far away, we stay connected. Hysun has five sisters, and Kimberly has one brother. Our families have experienced loss, but our love knows no distance. We look forward to expanding our circle of warmth with an adopted child.

Our Home in Texas

Our two-story, four-bedroom house sits on 6.5 acres of beautiful Texas Hill Country land. It’s our dream home, and we love it here!
The big backyard is perfect for family fun. We often see deer, armadillos, and roadrunners visiting. Our neighbors have cows and antelope, which are really cool to watch. At night, we love stargazing by our cozy fire pit or having fun cookouts. It’s the perfect spot for making unforgettable memories and nurturing childlike wonder.

Our nearby town offers lots of family-friendly activities. We enjoy chalk art festivals, outdoor concerts, and movie nights in the park. The local theaters put on great shows, and the Guadalupe River is perfect for picnics and playtime.

Our Promise to You and Your Child

Our sincere promise to your child:

  • They will know their family story, origins, and birth family.
  • We will provide a stable, loving home where they’ll be embraced wholeheartedly.
  • As a blended family from diverse backgrounds, we’ll nurture their understanding of cultural differences and similarities.
  • They’ll have access to educational and extracurricular opportunities aligned with their unique needs and interests.
  • With our unconditional love and guidance, they’ll experience God’s love as they grow into their authentic self.
  • Together with you (and your child when ready), we’ll establish an open, beneficial relationship for all.

We’re committed to open adoption, nurturing this relationship as long as you desire. Your child’s well-being is our utmost priority.

We’d love to talk or answer any of your questions. Please call or text Lifetime at 1.800.923.6784.

More About Our Family

Our Faith

-Our Christian faith is the bedrock upon which our family is built. It guides us to live with integrity, empathy, and a commitment to spiritual growth. We strive to lead by example, showing our children the importance of faith, kindness, and compassion in all aspects of life.
-We teach our children that living according to God's plan is most important, encouraging them to read the Bible, pray daily, and seek strength and guidance in both good times and bad.
-Going to church together and having family prayer and Bible study brings us closer as a family. Keeping God at the center of our home unites us with His love and wisdom.
-Our faith provides a strong moral foundation for our family, built on purpose and love. As we welcome another child into our lives, our faith will guide us in providing them with the same love, nurturing, and spiritual foundation we have instilled in our other children. We will embrace them as a precious gift from God, raising them in a home filled with faith, compassion, and unconditional love.

Family Traditions

-At least once every year, we trade the Hill Country for a tropical paradise when we visit loved ones in Hawaii. Nothing beats catching up with family while soaking up those incredible ocean breezes and making new memories!
-Weekends are when the real magic happens with our weekly family nights. We enjoy epic game night showdowns, family movie marathons, or exploring new restaurants on tasty adventures.
-We put our own spin on holidays by making them all about new experiences and adventures. Birthdays are also a big deal – the birthday person gets to choose their favorite meal and pick any activity for us all to enjoy together.
-One of our most cherished traditions is our New Year's Eve bash at home, complete with junk foods, silly movies, and Root Beer floats at midnight!
-No matter what adventures await, our family will wholeheartedly embrace every opportunity to create joyful memories.

Education

Education is highly valued in our family. Hysun holds a Master's degree and is currently pursuing a second one, while Kim has a Bachelor's degree. We have chosen to homeschool our children, with Caitlyn having graduated and Samuel currently being homeschooled.

We believe that homeschooling provides the best educational foundation for our children, as it allows for:
-Individualized attention and learning paths
-Flexibility to explore their unique interests and passions
-A love for learning that extends beyond the classroom

While we recognize the value of a college education, we also understand that it may not be the right path for everyone. We emphasize the importance of lifelong learning and personal growth, encouraging our children to pursue knowledge in various ways.
Our goal is to support our children in their educational journeys, providing them with the tools and guidance they need to succeed in their chosen paths.

Our Pets

Our home is a delightful collection of furry, feathery, and snorty best friends that fill every day with love, laughter, and excitement! In our backyard, we have a lively crew of chickens, goats, a sassy potbelly pig named Zhuzhubi (who rules the roost despite her misshapen leg), and even a turkey!

-Our hilarious goat quartet – Gandalf, Billy, Totes, and PB – keep our yard trimmed while entertaining us with their mischievous antics.

-Inside, our dog duo steals the show:
-Tardis, our gentle 85-pound mix breed, is loyal and perceptive, always ready to offer comfort and love to our family.
-Pixel, the 60-pound couch potato, is eager to be included in every family activity.

-Our three fabulous felines complete the family:
-Luna, the oldest cat, loves snuggling up on Hysun's lap for movie nights
-Leo, the clever orange kitty, keeps everyone on their toes with his door-sneaking skills
-Chi, the more reserved cat, delights in watching bird videos with Samuel

This interspecies cluster of personalities constantly fills our home with laughter and unconditional love. We wouldn't have it any other way!
