Hello! Thank you for looking at our profile and taking some time to get to know us. We are looking forward to growing our family through adoption. Family is very important to us, as is our faith. We live in beautiful coastal Maine, just a few minutes from the ocean and a few minutes from our church. We are ready to open our hearts and home to a child, and we would be honored to have you as part of that journey.
What we value:
About Us
We have been married for four years and together for nine. We met in college on an apple-picking outing that our school was offering for the freshmen class.
Together, we like to:
Why we are choosing to adopt: After going through infertility, and a lot of prayer, we decided that we still wanted to be parents. We felt that it was God’s way of letting us know that we are meant to become parents through adoption. We love children and have both wanted to be parents since we were children. We look forward to raising a child who will love exploring the world as much as we do.
About Alicia
Alicia is a special educator. The best part of this job is the interactions with students. She enjoys hiking, running, and teaching. She volunteers to teach Sunday school at our church.
What Ian loves about Alicia:
One thing that she is looking forward to sharing with our baby is her love of learning. Her parents would always read to her before bed and she is looking forward to carrying on this tradition.
About Ian
Ian is the inventory manager at a furniture moving company. He loves to hike and swim outdoors, and he loves animals. One of his favorite things to do is solve problems and puzzles. He has a great voice and sings in the choir for our Church.
What Alicia loves about Ian:
One thing that he is looking forward to sharing with our child is a love of the natural world. His dad spent a lot of time taking Ian on walks in the woods with him when he was little. Ian hopes to provide the same experience for your child.
Our Family
Ian’s family lives very close to us. His grandparents’ home is a 10-minute walk from our house and his parents’ home is a 10-minute drive. We have dinner with his parents often where we all sit down together and enjoy a meal and talk or play games near the woodstove. Ian has a brother who he talks to on the phone regularly. We also visit his grandparents often and sometimes bring our cat along to see them too. Most of Ian’s cousins are also scattered around the area with their families.
Alicia’s family lives a little over an hour away in New Hampshire. We often meet up with them on the weekends to go hiking together in the summer. In the winter, we go shopping and do activities such as escape rooms and pottery painting. Alicia has 3 siblings, a sister and two brothers. Her older brother and one of her cousins also live near us.
Since we are both close to our families, we alternate who we spend Christmas and Thanksgiving with each year.
We can’t wait to share our hikes and holidays with our child. Our parents are supportive of the adoption and are excited for us!
Our Home in Maine
We live in an apartment in southern Maine, near the ocean and several state parks. Our town is in a suburban area and often hosts festivals that are kid friendly.
We have two bedrooms and a living room/kitchen. We have a yard with a garden and an exercise room downstairs. Our home is cozy and will be a great place to raise a child.
Alicia’s favorite part about our home is being able to watch the birds come eat from our bird feeder while enjoying a cup of coffee in the morning. Ian’s favorite part of our home is the woods behind it. They are full of animals, and many of them will walk right into the yard.
Our Promise
As adoptive parents we will prioritize education for our child and impart a love of learning. We would like to do this through homeschooling. Your child will grow up with a tailored education that can dive deeply into topics that interest them. We will instill strong values in them, such as faith, love, honesty, and a strong work ethic. We will provide opportunities for traveling and exploring the world. We promise to read to them every night, tuck them into bed, and tell them they are safe and loved. We also both come from large extended families who will welcome and support your child as they grow.
We are grateful for your consideration as you make plans for your baby. We are open to yearly visits and will update you with pictures and letters, if you desire. We are looking forward to being parents and can’t wait to begin this journey with you.
We’d love to talk or answer any of your questions. Please call or text Lifetime at 1.800.923.6784.

More About Our Family
Family Traditions
We have several family traditions. Here are just a few of them:
-Chili Fest: Ian’s side of the family gets together every Christmas Eve for a big dinner featuring various chilis, a reading of The Night Before Christmas by his grandfather, and a gift exchange.
-April Vacation in the Outer Banks: Alicia’s side of the family goes down to the Outer Banks in North Carolina every April to spend quality time together and enjoy the beach, where we build sand sharks and go on daily sunrise walks.
-4th of July: Every year Ian’s side of the family gathers at his grandparents' summer camp in Maine to set off fireworks and go swimming at the lake.
-Easter: Every Easter Alicia’s side of the family gets together for a meal and has an Easter egg hunt for the kids.
Our Faith
We are both Catholic. Alicia was raised in the church and her family went regularly when she was a child. She has deepened her faith as an adult and now teaches Sunday school. Ian was raised non-denominationally Christian, but converted to Catholicism as an adult. He is very interested in church history and sings in the choir.
Our Pets
We have two pets in our house: a cat named Luke, and a snake named Mr. Cuddles. Luke is still a kitten and just turned one. He is an allergy free Siberian cat and is very lovey and playful. He hates to be alone and loves attention. Mr. Cuddles is an albino Ball Python. He is not venomous and enjoys spending his time in his favorite rock den. He has been handled by people his entire life and is very docile.
3 Things on Our Bucket List
1. Hike all the mountains over 4,000 feet in elevation in New England
2. See all the National Parks
3. Buy a home and make it a homestead
In Closing
We can't wait to welcome a new family member. We are excited to foster their sense of curiosity, to share our love of travel, and to explore the world with them. We will love and care for your child through all the ups and downs of life. If you want, we are open to yearly visits and will update you with pictures and letters about your child. Thank you so much for considering us. We look forward to a relationship with you!
