Hello from our family! We have been married for 14 years and have two boys. Being parents has been our greatest joy! We were both raised in Ohio and our home is full of laughter, energy, and love. We love spending time together, cookouts with our friends, and playing together as a family in our driveway. If you catch us on the weekend, we’ll be completing projects or doing yard work and including our boys in those things. With our two boys and our two Goldendoodles our home is rarely quiet, but it’s extra fun and always welcoming. We’d love to share this life we’ve built with a daughter too. It would be an honor to learn more about you and what you’re looking for in an adoptive family for your child.

About Us

We have weekly date nights and travel to relaxing resorts a couple times a year. Our passion as a couple is to serve those in need or suffering, whether far away or within our community. We like to cook meals, bake pies, walk our dogs, and watch comedy movies together. Our marriage is grounded in unwavering commitment to each other, so we prioritize regular time to chat and deeply connect.

It’s been our dream to add a child to our lives again and we have felt a strong calling to grow our family through adoption. After our second son was born, we learned Brit would not be able to get pregnant again. Through it all, we believe our story has been leading us to adoption all along. We are excited to adopt a little girl and surround her with the love, protection, encouragement, and guidance to help her grow into a strong woman.

About Jacob

Brit says: Jacob is the wisest man I know, and he has a huge heart for people in need. He faithfully supports our family and perseveres through demanding situations. He is an intelligent veterinarian and efficiently runs a practice in our hometown. He loves being challenged with new veterinary cases and new surgical procedures (specifically ACL repairs in dogs).

Jacob also loves:

  • Reading (historical, fantasy, sci-fi)
  • Playing basketball weekly with a group of guys he’s played with every Sunday for years
  • Swimming, snorkeling, and deep diving
  • Traveling and trying new foods and recreating them at homeJacob can’t wait to snuggle and play with our baby girl. He wants to teach her about faith, valuable life-lessons, and how to think for herself. He wants to teach her that she is strong and capable, not needing the approval of others to feel secure.

About Brit

Jacob says: Brit is the most loving and patient person I know. She is a wonderful mother and loves being a mom. I know she is excited about dolling up a little girl. She has a wonderful sense of humor and is always laughing, making the boys laugh, and dancing around. She is an accomplished physician assistant and now stay-at-home mom. She serves our family well and makes it a priority to cultivate a great home life.

Brit loves:

  • Weekly date nights with Jacob
  • Specialty coffees — especially mochas!
  • Thrifting (for the boys’ clothes and toys)
  • Traveling to places to swim and snorkel
  • Playing and watching basketballBrit’s ready to be a great mom to our baby girl and seamlessly bring her into our family. She can’t wait to see her grow and flourish through her bright future. She wants to teach her confidence, resilience and how to share love to those around her.

Our Family

Our 2 sons: We are committed to each other and our marriage, so that our family remains close-knit throughout our lives. We have two very active boys, Xavier (5) and Isaac (3) and they keep us busy. Xavier is very energetic and outgoing. He likes to ride his bike, dance, build things with Magna-tiles, play the drums and dress up like a police officer or firefighter. Isaac is also energetic and he’s often doing whatever Xavier is doing. He likes to snuggle, have books read to him, play with bubbles and dance. He’s very tall for his age and is left-handed.

Our extended family is big. Jacob has 4 siblings and his only brother is his twin. We have 12 nieces and nephews from his side. Brit has one biological brother and two stepsisters, and 4 nieces and nephews. They are all excited to welcome our future baby! We go on a trip once a year with each side of our family. With Jacob’s family we go to the beach and with Brit’s to the lake.

Diversity in our family: In our family we have a Nigerian brother-in-law and another brother-in-law with Cherokee and Navajo ancestry. They are wonderful people!

Our Home in Ohio

We live in a 5-bedroom ranch style home in a small town with a tight-knit community. We have a lot of space inside with room to play and invite friends over, especially with our large, finished basement. We also have a peaceful nursery ready for our future baby girl with a rocking chair, bassinet, changing table filled with all of the essentials, and cute clothes and bows.

We live close to a couple parks, one with a new splash pad, and we go to them often. We also live 15 minutes from our church and attend every Sunday. Downtown there is a wonderful library, cute coffee shops, boutiques, and a pottery/art shop. Our town also holds fun festivals (our favorite is the Mum Festival in the fall) and live music in the streets in the summer.

Whenever the weather is nice, we’re outside with the boys playing in the driveway or in our big, shaded backyard that has a huge swing set Jacob built. We live in the same neighborhood as some of Jacob’s family (his parents and two of his sisters’ families) and our close friends. Jacob’s parents have a pool, so we are there a few times a week in the summer. We often see our family and friends walking past our house, so we catch up with them and our neighbors often. We’ve also gotten close to our next-door neighbors–an older couple who love our family as much as we love them.

Our Promise

Thank you for considering us as adoptive parents for your little one. We promise to honor you and our commitment to an open adoption. We promise to love this child unconditionally for her entire life; she’ll always know she is loved. She will grow up in a faith-filled, safe and happy home and will have all of her needs met. Her life will be full of joy and she will be free to learn, ask questions, and become who she is meant to be. We also promise to help her understand her adoption story and to teach her about her background.

If you want an ongoing connection after the adoption, we’d look forward to keeping in contact with you through text, phone calls, or occasional scheduled visits with you. We hope to get to know more about you through this process and would love to video chat or even meet in person, if you’d like.

We’d love to talk or answer any of your questions. Please call or text Lifetime at 1.800.923.6784.

More About Our Family

Our Faith

Jacob: My faith is central to who I am. I am a follower of Christ. He guides me and directs me. He is my rudder and without Him I would be a ship tossed in the crazy ocean that is this world. He gives me peace.

Brit: Christ is my focus and reason for living and I strive to honor Him in all I do. I know one of my most important callings is to raise children to know Christ and follow His commandments and teachings. This is why I stopped working as a PA so I could focus my time on centering our family on Christ and His calling for us as a family: to reach others and show them Jesus’ love.

Our home church is 15 minutes from our house and we attend every Sunday. The children's ministry is strong and has been that way for decades. Brit grew up in attending church there and it's one of main reasons we chose it. We also chose our church because of the ethnic diversity.

Our Weekly Routine

We are a good mix between homebodies and people who are on the go. We appreciate our down time around the house, but are glad to meet up with friends and/or take the boys on fun family outings.

Sundays--Church, family lunch (20 people!), Jacob plays basketball, family time

Mondays-Thursdays--Work, appointments, errands, and always family time in the evenings: ride bikes, play basketball, soccer or pickle ball, swing on the swing set, or color.

Thursday nights--Our date night. We switch each week for who chooses which restaurant we go to. We usually get Thai, sushi or American fare.

Fridays and Saturdays--Hang out with friends, visit with family, relax at home playing with the boys. We often go to a local children's museum, the Air Force Museum, a working farm, or a beautiful walking/hiking path with a waterfall.

Our Dogs

We have two goofy goldendoodles, Samwise (named after Samwise Gamgee from the book The Lord of The Rings) and Charlie. Samwise is a copper/red color and Charlie is a cream color. We all love throwing a ball or frisbee for them and they're always out with us when playing outside. They are great with the boys.

Our Education Plans

Education is so important to us. With Jacob getting his doctorate and Brit getting her master's, we feel education is critical in increasing our children's options in the future. Fall of 2026 we will start homeschooling our 5-year-old son and we plan to do the same with all of our children. We are choosing Classical Conversations (CC) since it is focused on a classical education style and prepares students to be critical thinkers. One niece and two nephews of ours have already gone through this program and are wonderful teenagers.

In Closing

God has planted a dream to adopt within us and we're here to serve you and stand in the gap in caring for your precious child. We also promise to love, protect, support, guide, teach, and help her grow into the woman God designed her to be. Our hope is for an open adoption so we can continue the connection we make with you in this process. We're ready to support you and love your baby!
