Hello! As a couple we consider ourselves to be loving, caring, laid-back, and fun. We love being around family and friends as much as we can and always have something going on or something fun to do. We love being around kids and take every opportunity to be involved with our nieces and nephews, as well as our friends’ children. It lights us up to care for or spend time with them! We’re also big sports fans and get into Chiefs and Royals games.
When we started dating we talked about adoption as a part of our family’s future. Our heart for children led us to becoming foster parents while we wait to grow our forever family. Raising a child together has been a dream for both of us and we’re ready and excited to adopt our first child. We would love to get to know you through this process too!
A Little About Us
Our story goes all the way back to the same grade school and church where we grew up. We were in different grades, but hung around the same groups of friends, and our parents were in the same circles. It wasn’t until later in our lives that we connected on a dating app and started a relationship! Now we’ve been together over 6 years and it’s exciting to be at this step to grow our family and become adoptive parents.
Things we enjoy together:

About Holli
According to Jarrod: Holli is selfless, loving, and so caring. I love how she takes care of our family. She is funny, smart, and very clever. As an attorney she loves seeing the reward of her hard work in helping others. Holli will be a wonderful mother, which I have already seen first-hand with children we’ve fostered and other kids in our lives.

About Jarrod
According to Holli: Jarrod is a fun-loving person with a caring, compassionate, and sensitive side. I love how handy he is around the house too! It’s been fun to see him grow as an electrical apprentice, getting to work in a field he’s been interested in for a long time. He loves his work! Jarrod is great with kids and will be that fun dad who does funny voices and makes silly faces, and always ready for anything they’ll need.

Our Home in Kansas
We live in a large metropolitan area of Kansas, close to both sides of our families. Our home is on a cul-de-sac, so it’s pretty quiet. Our neighborhood is near some of the best rated schools in the country as well, and there’s a playground just down the street from us. We have two stories with four bedrooms, a playroom, and a big fenced-in backyard. The nursery is set up in colors for a boy or a girl and we plan to decorate it more specifically after we adopt and know more about the child who will join our family.
Pets: We have two dogs who are both sweet, cuddly, and playful. Tilly is an Australian Cattle Dog mix and Ru is a Mini Australian-Doodle. They love going for walks and are great with kids.
Life in Our Family
Right now we are fostering two brothers, who are 6 and 2 years old. It’s been a joy to be a part of their lives, even if it’s just for a little while. We love these boys and the whole experience has only strengthened our desire to adopt. Some of our favorite things to do together have been family walks to the park down the street, spending weekends exploring outside, and having movie nights in the playroom.
We come from large families, and we love big holiday celebrations on both sides! Holli is one of six siblings, two who live nearby and three who are in Colorado and Wyoming. Jarrod has three siblings who all live close by. Together we have 20 nieces and nephews! Almost every weekend we do something with our families. We even do themed birthday parties, matching Christmas pajamas, and big family vacations too. Everyone has been supportive of and excited about our plans to adopt.

Jarrod is a very good whistler and singer, but he never whistles or sings in public (even though he’s very sociable!).
Holli loves karaoke! She’s often caught singing or dancing in the car too.
What We Value
We believe being close to family and friends is one of the most joyful things in life. It’s important to us to stay connected with our loved ones, loving, trusting, and caring for each other. Being true to ourselves, and allowing others to be themselves, is important to us too. If you asked our friends how they would describe us they might say we are loving, caring, trusting, loyal, fun, funny, kind, respectful, non-judgmental, forgiving, thoughtful, and giving.
What Adoption Means to Us
We have been foster parents while we wait to grow our own family through a forever-adoption. Being a foster family has made it even more clear to us that we want to adopt and what a blessing it is to welcome a child into our lives this way. We know we will love any child meant to come into our family. We're open to adopting a baby or an older child of any racial background, and we welcome the chance to share ongoing contact with our child/children's birth mother or biological family. We are so excited about adopting our first child and to raise a family together!
Plans for Childcare
After the adoption we will both take off time from work to adjust and be home to bond with our new child, find a good routine, and settle in together as a family. When our parental leave is over, we have great daycare options nearby, as well as Jarrod’s mother who would love to help out when needed.
