Hello!

We are a couple from Minnesota who hope to cherish the small, everyday moments to live as St. Therese of Lisieux notes to “miss no single opportunity of making some small sacrifice, here by a smiling look, there by a kindly word; always doing the smallest right and doing it all for love.”

Due to pregnancy risk, another biological child is not an option for our family. We are excited to expand our family through adoption, and our son is thrilled to become a big brother! We hope we can be the ones to help you feel peace and comfort through your journey and envision an open relationship with, if you wish.

About Us

We met 10 years ago through a Young Adult Catholic church group during a pickup volleyball game. We married in 2019 and had our son, Luke, two years later.

Together we enjoy:

  • Motorcycle rides
  • Camping (in a tent!)
  • Going for walks at state parks with our son and dogs
  • 2-stepping to country music at street dances
  • Playing co-ed softball
  • Watching sports live or on TV (football, hockey, and baseball especially–Go Twins, Wild, and Vikings!)
  • Attending live country music concerts with friends
  • About Katrina

Personality: organized, planner, outgoing, optimistic, competitive, dependable, patient, fiercely loyal

Superpower as a mom: We’ve always got a full calendar of ways that we can socialize with friends, go on an adventure, or stay home to stir up some new recipes in the kitchen because she works hard to coordinate the who, what, where, and when of our lives!

What Jason loves about Katrina most: “She ensures our home is inviting, clean, and always filled with laughter and memories!”

Fun Facts: Katrina is left-handed and was crowned homecoming queen in college!

    Interests:

  • Reading (Anything by Kristin Hannah or Karen Kingsbury)
  • Hockey and softball
  • LOVES board games and cards
  • Baking and cooking new recipes from scratch (pasta sauces, anything with pumpkin in the fall, homemade soups, scones, cookies, donuts, and cakes for every birthday celebration)
  • About Jason

Personality: reserved, witty, calm, laid back, problem solver

Superpower as a dad: He easily transforms into the fun tickle monster or the biggest teddy bear for our son when he needs to snuggle.

What Katrina loves about Jason most: “He consistently provides and protects our family, always doing his best to ensure that we are taken care of, even if it means less sleep for him.”

Fun Fact: He is a carpenter by trade and has made a majority of the furniture in our home. Items he has made include: picture frames and decor, kitchen table, headboard and end tables, Luke’s crib, spice rack, and the bench he proposed with!

    Interests:

  • Baseball: Jason loves baseball and can often be found during Twins season either at the game or watching it on a Sunday afternoon
  • Being Outdoors/Hiking (he once backpacked through Colorado with his dog for 4 days!)
  • Woodworking
  • Motorcycles
  • Dodge vehicles
  • Indoor and outdoor volleyball
  • Our Family

We have a son named Luke (age 5) who is very curious, loves to be outside in all seasons, and wants to do “everything that Dad does” with tools and fixing things around the house. He attends preschool, gymnastics, swimming lessons, and hockey.

One of our nieces was adopted and we can’t wait to see the bond form between the two cousins in their adoption journey!

    As a family we enjoy:

  • Gardening and canning (mostly tomatoes and pickles)
  • Campfires with s’mores
  • The Zoo
  • Children’s Museums
  • Jamming to country music on Spotify
  • Being outdoors as much as possible
  • Watching singing competitions on TV (American Idol and The Voice)
  • Three of the most common phrases you’ll hear in our house include:

  • “I love you!”
  • “You can make a mess, you just have to clean it up.”
  • “Can we have ice cream or popcorn tonight?”
  • Our Home in Minnesota

We live on 5 acres in a 4-bedroom home with plenty of room to play! We have 2 Boxers (dogs), Piper and Zuma, who love to run and find tennis balls.

We live near a secluded walking path that leads to a city park where we ride our bikes or take our son to the county park just a mile down the road. Our neighborhood is quiet and peaceful where you can see the stars at night and hear the birds in the morning as you wake (or before you want to be awake sometimes…).

We have Grandma in town just 10 minutes away and she regularly watches the dogs and/or Luke to allow us to continue to invest in our marriage and have one-on-one time with him; she LOVES it!

We have a large garden where we have planted pumpkins, watermelons, cantaloupe, berries, asparagus, peppers, onions, snap peas, green beans, tomatoes (LOTS of tomatoes), broccoli, and rhubarb.

Jason is always trimming, mowing, or conjuring up different ideas of how to improve the lawn or appeal of our house; we take pride in our home. We have a swing set and spider swing, and our son loves to ride around in his mini gator to pick up sticks.

    Our Promise

Our promise is that the child entrusted to us will be forever loved, always valued, be allowed to make mistakes to grow and learn, and know of their adoption story.

As parents, we strive to share with Luke (and hope to share with our future child):

  • our unconditional love
  • acknowledging each child’s unique gifts
  • working hard towards goals and passion
  • finding joy in people instead of material things
  • honor and respect for everyone
  • We’d love to talk or answer any of your questions. Please call or text Lifetime at 1.800.923.6784.

    Plans for Childcare

We plan to use an in-home daycare provider to love and support our new edition, as we did with our son. Katrina starts her day later and Jason ends his earlier, minimizing the time they are in daycare. We plan to have them attend a Catholic preschool when they are of age, as our son loves this currently! We have multiple school options where we live and plan to put our future child into a choice school that would cater to their learning style (Montessori, STEM, year-round, etc.).

    In Closing

We are a family of 3 hoping to grow to 4 with another little one to love, teach, and grow with. We are grateful to be considered to be a family for your little one to love and thrive through adoption! Thanks for taking time to get to know a little about us and how our story could be part of yours. Know of our prayers for your peace in this process and our hope that your little one will be loved beyond measure!
