Watch Our Video

Hello from the beaches of North Carolina! We are Jesse and Teri and are over the moon excited to become first-time parents through adoption. We enjoy all things outdoors and, when we’re not working, we spend our time hanging out at home with our dogs, playing in our garden, or tending to our tiny flock of chickens. We love living close to the water because we both LOVE to fish! We look forward to connecting with you and learning more about you. We are open to photos, letters, and visits within your comfort level.

About Us

We met while Teri was working as a retail store manager, and Jesse was working as an equipment technician. Jesse came in to make a repair, we had one look at each other, and it was love at first sight. We have been together for 8 years and married for 4. We have always known we wanted to build our family through adoption since adoption is very close to our family as Jesse’s mom, aunt, uncle, and several cousins were all adopted. Our jobs have allowed us to create a strong network of community support and friends who are thrilled to watch us welcome a new baby into our family. Owning a business gives us the freedom to spend time together, and with family, and to travel; it will also allow Teri to be a part-time stay-at-home parent with our child. We enjoy spending our free time working around our house, riding our golf cart to our favorite fishing spot in our neighborhood, and having weekly dinners and cookouts with Teri’s family, who all live really close. We look forward to taking our child on their first golf cart ride and teaching them how to fish, once they are old enough!

Meet Teri

I grew up in the same town that we currently live in, where my parents, sisters, and their families live just down the road. I studied biology in college which has contributed to my love of animals, the outdoors, and nature. When I’m not working I enjoy playing with our dogs, tending to our tiny chicken flock, and working in our garden, where I love to grow vegetables. Growing up at the beach has given me a deep love for fishing. I cannot wait to teach our child how to love and care for animals and how to have fun exploring nature.

What Jesse loves about Teri: Teri is a nurturer by nature and lives her life taking care of others. I’m excited to see her as a mom and know she will be amazing!

Meet Jesse

I love to stay active and do anything outdoors. When I’m not repairing other people’s homes, I enjoy working on our house, around our yard, or on my vintage Monte Carlo. I enjoy spending time with Teri, cooking good food outside for our family and friends, and fellowshipping with our family. I grew up in Florida, where my passion for fishing began. My family taught me the importance of a strong work ethic, love of family, God, and support of one another. I can’t wait to spend time building and creating things with our child.

What Teri loves about Jesse: Jesse never stops smiling and he has never met a stranger! He is selfless, humble, and is the most amazing Uncle to our nieces and nephews. He’ll be a great dad!

Our Family

We are both really close with our families. Jesse is the second oldest in a family of 3 brothers and 1 sister and Teri is the youngest of 4 sisters. Jesse’s family lives in Florida, so we frequently travel to Florida in our big van with all of our dogs! Teri’s parents and sisters all live nearby, so we do weekly dinners out and lots of weekend cookouts when the weather is nice. We talk with our parents daily and feel as though a strong family support system is crucial in life. Between the 2 of us, we share 11 nieces and nephews who are thrilled to welcome a new cousin into their bunch. Teri’s Mom, aka MeMe, currently watches our 4-year-old niece while Teri’s Sister and Brother in law work, and is overjoyed at the thought of being able to care for our baby while we work as well.

Our Home in North Carolina

We live in a 2 bedroom home in a small, rural town in North Carolina, 5 miles from the beach! Much of our time is spent outdoors, either in our almost 1 acre, fenced-in yard, which is complete with a garden, large chicken yard, lots of trees and flowers, and our favorite, front porch swing; or a half a mile down the road, at the Rural Park, that is equipped with horse stables, a kayak launch, sound front fishing, and a huge playground. Our neighborhood is very active and most of our neighbors either have children or animals or both! We look forward to introducing our child to our neighbor friends.

Our Promise

We promise to love and support your child and raise them in a family that will love them unconditionally. We promise to always speak about you openly and lovingly, and ensure that they know that it is your love for them, that helped to write their adoption story. We promise to love them entirely, without conditions and with the same love that the Lord has for His children. We promise to give them the best education opportunities and learning experiences that will equip them to be a productive and successful adult. We promise to teach them kindness, acceptance, and love and to provide them with strong moral values that will guide them throughout their life. We promise to provide them with resources and opportunities to learn about their heritage and culture and anything else that they find interest in. Above all, we promise to show them our deep love for you.

More About Our Family

Fun Facts

Fun facts about Jesse: Originally from Florida but doesn't swim in the Ocean! If he could only eat one thing for the rest of his life it would be a tomato sandwich.

Fun facts about Teri: She is terrified of crickets! Her favorite food is Mexican but she is allergic to avocados!

Our Pets

We are animal lovers!
We have 2 dogs, who love when we babysit our 4-year-old niece, 7 chickens, 2 turkeys and a goose.

What we love about where we live

We love that we live a short bike ride or golf cart ride to the water! We love living near the Ocean and the Sound. We also love that we live in Teri's hometown and that all of her family is really close by. We love that we live just a short 1-hour drive to the city, with great restaurants and shopping. We love the tight-knit feel of our community and how willing we all are to support and help each other. We also love that our area is a very popular vacation destination, so the population remains diverse 12 months out of the year!

Our favorite family traditions

In Jesse's family, Thanksgiving has always been a hugely celebrated holiday, one in which is not complete without loads of mashed potatoes. When he was younger and still lived in Florida, everyone would spend Thanksgiving together at his Mom's house and his Mom would make the mashed potatoes, now that we live in NC, our house has become the Thanksgiving spot, and Jesse makes the mashed potatoes, lots and lots of mashed potatoes!

In Teri's family, Christmas Eve has always been the biggest family celebration. When she was younger, all of the sister's would spend Christmas Eve at her Mom and Dad's house, where her Mom would make tons of appetizers and oyster soup. After we were finished eating, all of the sisters would open presents, and everyone always got a new pair of pajamas to wear for Christmas Eve night. Now that all of the sisters are grown, we still celebrate Christmas on Christmas Eve at Mom and Dad's house, and everyone still gets new pajamas, even the husbands! Teri cannot wait to share this tradition with their child!
