Jose & Sarah

Hi, we are Jose and Sarah. We want to give you an open and honest glimpse into our lives. We’d love to grow our family through adoption. We have so much love to give and have dreamed about experiencing parenthood together. We have a big, supportive family who are all incredibly excited as well.

If you are open to sharing your story, we’re here to listen. We hope to learn a little about you and want to share updates, photos, and plan visits at your comfort level.

Our Story

Jose was raised in California, while Sarah grew up in Arkansas. Interestingly, both of our families moved to Iowa during the same month and year! We have been together for 7 years and married for 2. Sarah was diagnosed with infertility, but that doesn’t change our desire to become parents. We are hopeful and excited about the future. We truly believe that God has a plan to connect us with the children that are destined to be welcomed into our lives.

A typical evening in our house:

• We alternate household responsibilities, including cooking dinner. Sarah is the better cook, but Jose is great on the grill. He learned some great techniques from his dad.
• Most weekdays we are relaxing at home. Occasionally, we like to stream a show before bed or catch up with each other while lounging on the sofa.
• We both have weekends off from work and enjoy spending that time visiting our families.

Activities we enjoy together:

• Spending time with family
• Movie nights
• Playing board games
• Trying new restaurants
• Road trips

About Jose

Written by Sarah- Jose is the most positive, easygoing person I know. He has so many traits that inspire me to work hard. When I was going through nursing school, he didn’t hesitate to pick up extra hours so I could focus on school. He is very nurturing, protective, and loves his family deeply. The commitment and love he has for both our relationship and his family is remarkable. We have a two-year-old nephew that absolutely adores him, and Jose is a natural at making him laugh. I know he will take the responsibilities of parenthood very seriously, and I have no doubts that he will be an amazing dad. I feel incredibly blessed to have him as my partner.

Jose’s Hobbies:

• Watching football and basketball
• Listening to podcasts
• Exploring new music
• Grilling

Jose says: I am looking forward to connecting with my kids by being a part of playtime. I want to be actively present, especially during those times when their imagination and energy seem never-ending. I want to cherish them because they aren’t going to be little forever.

About Sarah

Written by Jose- Sarah is the most caring, loving, and most nurturing woman I’ve ever met. Since we’ve been together, she’s been the absolute light of my life. She inspires me to do better, be better, and become an overall better man; without her I don’t know what I’d do! I’m proud of the person that she’s become throughout our 7-plus years together. She showcases compassion, love and a natural-born motherly instinct to every baby, toddler and child that comes her way. I know she’s been wanting to become a mother for the longest time (likewise to become a dad myself), and I believe that God’s plan for us will come soon enough with our own little one. Sarah is going to be the greatest mom EVER.

Sarah’s Hobbies:

• DIY home projects
• Reading, Crafts, Scrapbooking
• Walking on hiking trails
• Visiting the beach or lake

Sarah says: I am looking forward to reading my kids bedtime stories and having nightly snuggles. I have a small collection of books, including some of my own childhood favorites, to share with our child(ren). I also want to be there for school events such as plays, concerts, fundraisers, and sporting events. I want to be a part of their education and extracurricular experiences.

Our Home in Iowa

We live in a ranch-style, 2-bedroom house in a smaller suburb community. We’ve made lots of upgrades to our home and have future plans to add a third bedroom. We also have a spacious backyard with a play set.

Some Highlights of our Town:

• Local parks, Walking trails, Picnic area
• Disc golf, Basketball, Tennis court
• Movie theater, Library, Pool
• Locally owned ice cream shop with the BEST ice cream (in our humble opinion)

We also live about 30 minutes away from a large city. We like having the perks of a larger city nearby while enjoying quiet nights in our hometown. We genuinely love this area and see it as a great place to raise a family.

Our Family

Both sets of our parents live here in Iowa. Our family means a lot to us, and we see them often. Family members who live out of state fly in for the holidays. We also stay connected through video chats and phone calls. Jose’s parents do most of the hosting. His mom bakes and decorates amazing cakes. No matter the flavor or theme, she can make it happen. We leave every family event feeling full and happy.

Our entire family is very supportive of our adoption, and we are not the first! Jose’s aunt and uncle adopted three kids–a girl and 2 boys. We are looking forward to seeing all of the kids play together.

Our Promise

We promise to provide your child with opportunities to explore the world, develop their passions, and help them become the person they aspire to be. We want them to feel valued and encouraged to chase their dreams, knowing they have people cheering them on every step of the way.
