Hello! We are Josh and Ashlea from Texas, both teachers with servants’ hearts and love to take care of people whenever the opportunity arises. Whether that is at church, school, or simply out and about, we want to show people the love and light of Jesus everywhere we go. We complement each other well–Josh is outgoing and goofy and makes jokes, while having a protective, serious and caring side, and Ashlea is introverted, soft, feminine, loving, and selfless. We are excited to be on this adoption journey and are looking forward to learning more about you and your desires for your child.
About Us
We love our jobs as teachers and the kiddos that we are blessed to teach each day. Our love for education also carries into our community with our church and family. We both enjoy volunteering at church for the kids’ events. Josh is also a member of the church’s security team and is always making sure the kids are safe. We are also active at work and love to participate in the community events that our school campus hosts.
Things we enjoy together:
We are choosing to adopt because of some infertility issues; however, Ashlea has always had a calling to adopt. We are feeling a “tug” on our hearts to take this adoption journey now.
About Josh
Ashlea says: Josh is a man that loves hard and without abandon. He is strong, dependable, passionate, and protective of those he loves. He is silly, goofy, and loves to make people smile and laugh, even if he embarrasses himself in the process. He makes sure that I am cared for. He is a family man, dropping anything that he has going on to be by his family’s side and help them with whatever life throws their way. Josh is the baby of triplet boys. His dad taught him and his brothers to always give it your all, whether it’s sports, academics, faith, family, or anything. He gives 100% effort to anything he does, and the people he cares about.
Josh teaches 6th and 7th grade History and loves all things social studies and reading. He frequently watches history documentaries and war movies, and loves anything that has to do with world wars. If you need a “this day in history” fact, he is your guy! When he is not teaching, you may find him playing video games with his friends and his brothers. Josh also loves football! He loves to watch the Kansas City Chiefs and the Texas Longhorns. Whenever we have a free Saturday or Sunday, you can find him in our movie room watching the games.
Josh looks forward to being a loving, dependable, and faith-filled father who leads by example while creating meaningful memories and adventures with his child(ren).
About Ashlea
Josh says: Ashlea teaches 3rd through 5th grade Math intervention and has an amazing way of explaining math to her students. She has such a love for children and teaching. She is also the children’s director at our church and organizes monthly events for the kids in our community to enjoy. Ashlea teaches weekly Bible studies to the kids at our church and directs the Vacation Bible School each summer.
Ashlea loves big! She makes it her personal mission to make someone’s day better, and even goes out of her way to do so. She LOVES fashion! She is the best at finding designer brands at thrift stores. She also likes to play video games with Josh and is super competitive! She enjoys going on walks around the neighborhood.
Ashlea looks forward to creating a loving, faith-filled home where she can nurture her child(ren), teach them life skills, make memories, and embrace every adventure of parenthood.
Our Family
Josh is the youngest of triplet boys! His brothers are very important to him, as well as his father. He loves to see him every week, as time allows, to watch Texas football, play cornhole, and swim in the pool or hot tub. His father lives about 30 minutes from us, and his brothers both live nearby as well. We see each other often.
Ashlea’s parents and older brother all live about 20 minutes away. She also has an amazing grandmother who lives next-door to her parents. When she gets together with her family, they enjoy going to church, shopping at Goodwill, Marshall’s, and Ross, or going to her parents’ house to let our dogs run around their land. We get together to enjoy dinner and either a sports game or family game night filled with laughter.
We are very close to both sides of our family, and are thankful for a big support system!
Our Home in Texas
Our home has 3 bedrooms and includes an office that we are going to turn into a playroom. Our guest bedroom will become the nursery, which we have already begun buying things for and planning. Our house has a pretty big fenced-in backyard that includes a big oak tree for shade. We live within walking distance of our neighborhood park where all of the neighbor kids play after school and over the summer. Our neighborhood is very quiet and is filled with families who are young and involved in our community.
We have 4 pets–3 dogs (Whiskey, Sterling, and Bailey) and 1 cat (Freya). They love kids and are well behaved around little ones.

More About Our Family
3 Things We Love About Where We Live
1--We both love the access that our location gives us to all of the great restaurants we frequently visit!
2--We love how close we are to our church! It is less than 5 minutes down the road.
3--Our area is very safe and has mostly young couples or military families who are settling down. Everyone is so nice! We also live next to an elementary school.
Family Traditions
-For Christmas, we celebrate with just our little family and then also our extended family. Last year we started the tradition of making coffee, putting on Christmas music, getting in our matching PJs, and opening our gifts as just the two of us. We love getting quality time with each other on the Lord's birthday.
-For Thanksgiving, we like to tell one another what we are thankful for. We each express how the Lord has worked in our lives that year and thank Him for it.
-For New Years, we always try to make our resolutions realistic and attainable, but they have to be associated with our relationship or our family. For instance, we both set a similar goal to open up more when things are bothering us, and to name the problem when it comes up.

1--Travel the country on a cruise, specifically to Europe
2--Ride in a hot air balloon over a European country
3--Skydive!
When I Was Little, I Wanted to Be....
Josh: Either a safari veterinarian or an orthopedic surgeon and work on professional athletes
