Hi! We are a family of four who make time for each other, even when life gets busy. As parents, we strive to raise kind, curious, and responsible children while creating a home where everyone feels safe, supported, and deeply loved. Raising our two boys has been our greatest blessing and we’d love to grow our family again. We are excited to adopt and look forward to learning more about you and your little one.
Our Life Together
Our story began while we were in college. We lived on the same street and it wasn’t long before we realized there was something special between us. After we got together, we quickly became inseparable. We’ve been happily married 13 years!
We genuinely enjoy spending time together. Whether we’re tackling a DIY project around the house, searching for shark teeth along the beach, crabbing on the Chesapeake Bay, or playing a round of frisbee golf, we love making memories in the simple moments. We don’t need much to be happy. Our favorite days are often the ones spent working side by side, laughing together, and enjoying the life we’ve built.
Meet Abbey
Abbey recently became a stay-at-home mom. Being a mother has always been her greatest dream. Known for her bubbly, witty, and charismatic personality, she believes there’s always a solution to every problem—and enjoys the challenge of finding it.
Abbey loves expressing her creativity through cooking homemade meals, gardening, DIY projects, crafting, decorating, and even doing her own nails. Giving back to other moms is important to her, which is why she serves on the committee for her local MOMCO group, a Christian organization for mothers to connect. She also finds value in slowing down and soaking in life’s quiet moments. Whether she’s curled up with a good book and cup of tea, or snuggled on the couch for a family movie night, she’s good about making time to recharge. More than anything, being a mom is the job title that Abbey has been the most proud of.
Meet Justin
Justin is a devoted husband, loving father, and someone everyone can count on. He has worked for Clark Construction Group for 17 years and currently serves as a Vice President. Known for his strong work ethic and dependable nature, he approaches both work and family with integrity and dedication.
When he’s not working, Justin loves being outdoors. Whether he’s fishing, hunting, boating, or exploring with our family, he’s happiest making memories with us. He also enjoys building and fixing just about anything, and there’s rarely a project around the house he can’t tackle.
One of Justin’s greatest joys is sharing his knowledge with Austin and Benson. Whether he’s teaching them how to use tools, identify wildlife, or understand how something works, he encourages their curiosity and confidence. Justin leads with patience, kindness, and love, all aspects that make a great father.
Family Life
Our Sons: Austin is 10 years old and takes being a big brother seriously. He leads with kindness, patience, and responsibility. He has an incredibly curious mind and is always asking questions, eager to understand how things work and why. Benson is 7 years old and around our house, he’s affectionately known as the “wrecking ball.” He’s full of energy, adventure, and fun. Beneath his adventurous spirit is a sweet and affectionate heart that loves deeply and includes everyone around him.
The relationship between our boys is one of the greatest gifts in our family. They are also excited to have another sibling! We know our future child will have two big brothers who will become lifelong friends, protectors, and the biggest cheerleaders for each other.
Our family believes some of life’s best moments are the simplest ones. Dinners are always spent around the table together, followed by a family walk on nice evenings or a board game on cold, rainy days. We’re often found outside playing basketball, throwing a baseball, or working together around the house.
Our Home in Maryland
Our home sits on nearly two peaceful acres, surrounded by farmland on one side and woods on the other, with neighborhood friends nearby. It’s a place where kids can be kids, riding bikes in the driveway, swinging on the playset, jumping on the trampoline, exploring outside, or collecting eggs from our chicken coop. We have five bedrooms, including a nursery that’s waiting to welcome the child who joins our family. Every corner of our home has been filled with love over the years, and when we added on to our house, it was with the hope of making room to grow our family. This is a great place for our children to grow up.
Our Promise
It means so much to us to be considered as adoptive parents for your child. We promise to love your child completely, while honoring the unique story that began with you. We want him or her to grow up feeling secure in who they are, deeply loved, and proud of every part of their story and how we all came together.
We promise to provide a stable home filled with love, laughter, and routines where your child can thrive. They will have opportunities for an excellent education, extracurricular activities, and the encouragement to discover their own interests and talents. Our goal is to raise respectful, compassionate children who value others, work hard, and know they are loved.
Most importantly, we want you to know that we do not take this opportunity lightly. We have tremendous respect for the courage and hope it takes to consider adoption. We would never take for granted the trust you place in us by choosing our family.
We are open to discussing what a relationship through open adoption could look like for all of us. If you’re comfortable, we’re happy to share letters, photos, phone calls, occasional visits, or other ways we could stay connected. We are committed to honoring our commitment to open adoption. We want you to have confidence knowing that your child is safe, fully supported, and surrounded by love.
We’d love to talk or answer any of your questions. To learn more about us, please call or text Lifetime at 1.800.923.6784.

More About Our Family
Why We're Hoping to Adopt
Our journey to parenthood came with challenges, including the loss of 4 pregnancies along the way to our two boys. We've always hoped to raise more children and to expand our family again. After much thought and prayer, we have peace that God's plan is for us to add a child to our family through adoption. We see it as a beautiful, meaningful way to grow our family and look forward to welcoming a child this way. We are committed to honoring our child's story, embracing open adoption, and nurturing the important connections that are part of their life.
Fun Facts
- We balance each other well; one of us is more spontaneous (Justin) and the other loves a well-thought-out plan with detailed lists (Abbey).
- We have a dining room table in our house that was built from a tree that was removed from our yard to build our addition.
- Abbey ran her own in-home daycare out of our home for over 2 years.
- Justin has 2 boats, a kayak, and more fishing poles than socks.
- When it rains, the first thing the boys do is grab their bikes to ride down the hill and into the water that collects in the yard.
Extended Family & Traditions
Although our extended families live away from us, they are a very important part of our lives. We visit each other often and make it a priority to celebrate holidays and birthdays with our loved ones. They are a big part of our lives! Whether it's to celebrate a milestone, lend a helping hand, or support one another during an important life event, our families always show up for each other.
Some of our favorite traditions include baking Christmas cookies with family and waking the boys on their birthdays with streamers and balloons outside their bedroom doors. Every Thanksgiving we travel to Pennsylvania to celebrate with Abbey's family, followed by a post-Christmas gathering at Justin's family camp. We also look forward to beach vacations with Abbey's extended family, summer visits with Abbey's sister and nieces, spring visits from Justin's dad and stepmom, and cheering on our nieces and nephews at their baseball games whenever we can. We hope these traditions become lasting memories that remind our children just how much they are loved.
Our Values
Most importantly, we want our children to know they are deeply loved, supported, and never have to face life's challenges alone, because life isn't always easy. We strive to create a home where they feel safe to ask questions and make mistakes. We also believe that love comes with guidance. While our home is filled with laughter and fun, we also set clear expectations, thrive on routine, give structure, and model behavior to help them succeed in life.
One of the greatest lessons we hope to pass on is to treat every person with kindness and respect. We believe children learn more from what they see than what they're told, so we do our best to model those values in our everyday lives.
In Closing
Thank you for taking the time to learn about our family and consider us as part of your adoption journey. We imagine all that you're thinking about and going through. In our family, your child will know how much love, strength, and heart went into their story, right from the start. If you choose us, we promise to love your child wholeheartedly, celebrate who they are, and honor the story that began with you. We will never forget the incredible gift and trust you have placed in us. Thank you for considering our family. It would be an incredible privilege to become part of your story.
