Watch Our Video
Greetings from Pennsylvania. Together we feel a strong call to adoption and are excited to welcome our first child into our hearts and family this way. We are a Christian couple that strongly believes all children are precious to God. Our home has been described as one filled with fun, creativity, consistency, and love for others.
We would love to take the time to talk with you about what you would like to see happen for your child’s future.
Who We Are
We have known each other since 2021 after some of our siblings set us up to meet. Two of Emily’s sisters, her cousin, and Kendall’s brother and sister all tried to get us together at different times. They were obviously good matchmakers as we got married the following year.
We are very different from each other yet complement each other in unique ways. Emily is the visionary dreamer, and Kendall is the rational thinker. We both enjoy hiking, completing puzzles, board and card games, watching TV/movies, and our evening devotions.
Emily has long had a desire to adopt since hearing about its impact during a sermon as a teenager. It has become a shared passion as we look to expand our family and welcome children into our hearts and home. We strongly believe that God has called us to be parents, and we look forward to sharing our love and favorite activities with our child.
About Emily
Emily works part-time for a seasonal greenhouse caring for and selling flowers. She also works occasionally for a local dairy store and at a tea house. She enjoys working with her hands and seeing the joy her jobs bring to individuals. Her passion is traditional homemaking.
Emily’s hobbies and interests include – Crocheting and Sewing, Cooking, Gardening, Reading
She looks forward to being a mom and having the ability to watch a child grow and develop into the best person they can be.
Some things Kendall admires about Emily – Her delicious cooking and baking, how beautiful she makes the yard look with flowers, her vision, and go-getter attitude.

Kendall’s hobbies and interests include – Volleyball, Disc golf, Civilization (computer game), Playing games, Listening to music
Kendall looks forward to developing shared interests or supporting the interests and hobbies of a son or daughter.
Some things Emily admires about Kendall – His never-ending PATIENCE, the time he takes to interact with his nephews and nieces, and his willingness to wash dishes and do laundry.
Family and Family Time
Both of us have been blessed with large extended families. Kendall’s immediate family lives within a half hour of each other. His parents and sister’s family attend the same church as us and we have many meals together each month. Most of his extended family also live in the area. We are blessed to have family so close that we can lean on and share many happy memories with over holidays, mini vacations, and game nights.
Emily’s parents and younger siblings live in New York state on a farm, with one brother in Montana. Although they are not all close by, what time we can spend with them is special. Weekly phone calls and family chats are extremely important. We do get to spend a lot of time with her sister’s family who lives close to us, and enjoy hosting our nieces and nephew for sleepovers and playdates.
Family time for us involves eating meals with each other, playing games, watching shows, or just spending time together.
Our Home in Pennsylvania
We live in a quaint little town in eastern Pennsylvania. We both enjoy living in the country and as former farm kids, we appreciate the agricultural heritage it showcases. There is a local dairy with glass bottled milk and a popular fall fair where our nephews show pigs through 4H. During the warmer months there are local produce stands and endless cornfields. There is also an old railroad that has been turned into a 20+ mile long walking/bike path.
We live in a nice 3-bedroom bilevel home with a fenced-in backyard and a small veggie garden. A slide off the back deck is a unique quirk to our home enjoyed by our nieces and nephews.
We also have a small aquarium that is home to a snail named Turbo and a few neon tetras.
Our Promise to You
We have been eagerly waiting to grow our family and are ready to put our best foot forward in parenting our child.
We will strive to be parents that take the time to help our child learn about life and how to interact well with those around him or her.
We look forward to seeing our love multiply with a larger family as we spend time together.
As we go on this journey, we are open to continuing contact with you as you begin this journey too.
We’d love to talk or answer any of your questions. Please call or text Lifetime at 1.800.923.6784.

More About Our Family
Unique Interests
Emily has an interest in natural medicine and self-sustainability. She has certificates from different herbal schools plus a vast library on herbal teas and home remedies. She also has a heart for missionaries' kids and has served on several short trips throughout Europe doing childcare of some fashion.
Kendall is a competitive athlete. He has played many sports, although volleyball is by far his favorite. He now coaches at his former high school.
Over the past few years Kendall has developed a joy for disc golf, a past time he shares with his dad and now a few of his young nephews.
Our Faith in Jesus
Both of us grew up attending church. As young adults, we have both personally dedicated our lives to Jesus and strive to live a simple, Biblically focused life. Our families are both rooted historically in the Mennonite church, and we strive to follow the examples Jesus has shown us through His Word.
Growing Up on the Farm
Emily is the second of nine children, with three sisters and five brothers. She grew up on a dairy farm in New York state. Her mother works as a nurse and continues to homeschool. Her Dad is a farmer who has instilled a willingness for hard work. Visiting the farm is a special time, even as her brothers are beginning to take over. She still enjoys helping with the milking, cuddling with the farm cats, and walking through the meadow.
Kendall's parents co-owned the family farm with his uncle's family. Some of his chores on the farm included feeding calves, shoveling cow stalls, and pressure washing the milking parlor over the summer. He enjoyed playing basketball with cousins after the afternoon chores were done.
Why We Are Adopting
Although we have been through infertility, that is only a small part of why we have chosen the road of adoption. Adoption has been something we have wanted to do even before we were married. It has always been a part of the way we had planned to grow our family. We strongly believe that adoption reflects God's love and grace. It is a visible demonstration of how God has welcomed his followers into His family.
In Closing
We are grateful that you may consider us as the adoptive parents of your child. We cannot wait to become parents and look forward to the home we can provide for a son or daughter. We pray every day for the relationships that open adoption will create.
