Hello! We are Kris and Eileen from Illinois! Thank you for taking the time to get to know a little about us. We are excited to have the opportunity to grow our family and become the parents that we both have always wanted to be. As a family we will travel, eat delicious food, and most importantly, laugh and love together (along with our 2 crazy pups!). We look forward to all the adventures and fun to come!
Our Story
We met in January 2018 through online dating. It was an instant connection from date #1 (we stayed out until 11 on a school night, which is not like us!). We both enjoy taking in the small things in life. We are active travelers, foodies, and above all, easygoing people. We love a simple night at home with a good home-cooked meal and our pups. We also enjoy the occasional night downtown. By nature, we are more of the homebody type, so we love spending time with those we love and care about with the comforts of home. We have two dogs, a Saint Bernard (Hank) and a French Bulldog/Pug (Mimi) who we adore. Throughout our 7 years together, we have traveled the world, grown professionally and personally, and most of all, focused on each other. We are excited to begin the next chapter of our lives by welcoming a baby into our family. We have both always known we have wanted to be parents. Being unable to do so naturally, we have found our calling to adoption.
About Eileen (Told by Kris)
Eileen works for a school district in the area, where she is supporting and growing the Special Education program. She spends her days goofing off with the children and trying to better their school experience. She has always been a kid-first kind of educator. When she is not at school, she is at our local YMCA where she is part of an adult swim team. She also teaches children swim lessons at the Y on weekends.
Some of Eileen’s hobbies are:
- Swimming
- Reading
- Watching Movies/TV
- Hanging out with Friends/Family
- Traveling
- Cooking/baking
- House plants
- Hanging out with our dogs
Eileen is going to be an incredible mother. She brings a calm, nurturing, loving and supportive feel to the home and through our life together with our child.
About Kris (Told by Eileen)
Kris is the most thoughtful and level-headed person I know. He takes his time making decisions and every decision is carefully thought out and planned. He brings the calm to my storm. This is going to be an amazing quality to have as we enter parenthood and face many decisions and life events. He is also extremely caring and has the biggest heart of anyone I have ever met. He is the first to answer his phone and go help any friend or family member that needs a hand (house projects, technology, a ride, etc…). He spends his days at work teaching and helping people navigate technology, as well as creating new technologies and pathways to better people’s experiences at his company.
Kris’s favorite things to do are:
- Spending time with family and friends
- Playing board games
- Playing video games
- Traveling
- Cooking and grilling
- Golfing
- Woodworking and making things for our house
- Watching movies and TV
- Hanging out with the dogs
- Going to car shows
Kris is going to make the absolute BEST dad. His way of making everything fun and funny will radiate through this house and through our life together with our child.
Our Family
We both come from extremely close and supportive families. Eileen grew up in a suburb of Chicago in a loving home where her family still resides today. She grew up in a home where they were encouraged to follow their dreams. Catholicism played a huge role in her upbringing and who she is today. As a family, we enjoy getting together for Sunday dinners, spending time outside, and traveling.
Kris’s family recently relocated to the area to be closer to us. We see them on a regular basis, and they are excited to welcome a new family member into the group. We are incredibly blessed to have them close by to help support us on this new adventure. We go on a family vacation to Florida each Fall. There are 6 dogs between the three houses, and they become quite the center of attention and conversation.
Our child will be the first “grand” on both sides, and our families cannot wait to spoil and love them. We have the biggest and best support system we could ever ask for in our families. This child will be so loved by them all!
Our Home in Illinois
We moved into our home in October 2024. We are in love with the area and the neighborhood. Where we live is full of young families and is very active. It is full of life, children, and pets. We have enjoyed exploring the adorable downtown area and all of the restaurants, parks, and shops that it has to offer. We love that it has the small-town community feel while being less than an hour from Chicago and all of the culture that comes along with being a metropolitan city. Our house is a 3-bedroom 2-story home complete with a finished basement and a loft area. An added bonus is a giant fenced-in yard (perfect to play and run around with the pups and future child!).
Our Promise
We promise to love your child. We promise to give him/her safety and a place to flourish. We promise to always encourage them in their dreams and be their biggest cheerleaders. We promise to be caring, patient, understanding, and gentle. We promise to guide them through their life’s journey. Our hope for our child is that they grow up to be respectful, caring, and happy.
We promise to be open. We will tell our adoption story and your part in it. We promise to share pictures, letters, and videos often.
We’d love to talk or answer any of your questions. Please call or text Lifetime at 1.800.923.6784.
