Hello from Northern California! We would like to introduce ourselves–Cassie and Luis. We enjoy our home among the redwood forest, 10 minutes from the beach. We love being parents to our eleven-year-old son and are hoping to grow our family through adoption. We have heard some amazing stories from our friends about their adoption experiences. We would love the opportunity to get to know you and learn more about your hopes for your child.
About Us
We have been married for 17 amazing years. Whether learning about new places and cultures through travel, food or by meeting new friends, we have always enjoyed the opportunity to explore the diversity that exists outside our home. We value solitude and nature and have chosen a home that enables plenty of both, while at the same time is close to all that the SF Bay Area has to offer. While at home you can find us hiking, biking, gardening and spending time at the beach. Catching a great sunset is one of our favorite pastimes.
We have experienced secondary infertility, which has led us to the path of adoption. We look forward to someday sharing our experiences with another child, as parenthood has been our greatest adventure to date!
About Cassie
According to Luis: Cassie is an incredibly empathetic caretaker. She has dedicated herself to making our house a home and ensuring that we are all well cared for. Her gardening hobby should really be referred to as a farming hobby! Ensuring that we have fresh flowers, fruit and vegetables is certainly a passion of hers. She also enjoys exercising her creativity by crafting, painting and interior decorating. Her day-to-day focus is on managing our house and homeschooling our son. Her commitment to his education and Christian upbringing has truly been a blessing for us. She looks forward to sharing her love and knowledge with another child someday.
About Luis
According to Cassie: Luis is funny and adventurous. He works as a medical device design engineer. His job allows him to use his abilities to solve challenging problems that help people get better. In his spare time, you can find him building cars, riding mountain bikes and enjoying photography. He also loves baseball. Luis always looks forward to exploring new areas of the world and loves to share that experience with his family.
Our Family
We have one biological son who is 11. He is very outgoing and enjoys Karate and playing Minecraft. We like to spend much of our time outside as a family. We enjoy taking our dog on walks. We also like to focus on physical activity and eating natural, whole foods, so we do a lot of cooking at home.
Being both born and raised in California, almost all of our family is within a few hours’ drive. Luis’ mom and stepfather have lived with us for the past 7 years and it has been a blessing to have a set of grandparents so close. Cassie’s parents visit regularly, and we will make the trip to their home which is about a 6-hour drive away. We have had amazing support from our friends and family in beginning this adoption process–Cassie’s mom was adopted as an infant. Luis’ extended family lives about 25 minutes away. One of our favorite outings is visiting our local panaderia which produces the absolute best Mexican sweet bread in the state.
Our Home in California
We live in the San Francisco Bay Area in a small town of about 900. There are many trees on our property, with one big oak tree that has served as an excellent source of shade and a platform for a fun rope swing. While our neighborhood is semi-rural, it is a tight-knit community that helps each other in times of need. Our town has a 4th of July picnic among the redwoods with great live music, games and food.
Our home has 4 bedrooms with plenty of natural light. We plan to dedicate one of these rooms (currently a guest room) to a nursery for a little one. Luis’ favorite room in the house is the yard. Our pets include 2 dogs, 2 cats and 4 chickens.
Our Promise
As parents we will make sure that your child knows who they are, where they came from and what sacrifices you made to give them a wonderful life. We will care and love them unconditionally. We promise to give your baby a lifetime of love, laughter, family, care and safety. We promise to give your baby a well-rounded education and opportunities for college, if that is the route that they choose to go. We promise to respect and honor your child with loving boundaries. We will teach them to care for all people as Jesus did and to never underestimate their potential. We look forward to continuing to know you after the adoption and to share with you about your child, if that is what you choose. We have wanted to grow our family for so long and if you give us this opportunity, we promise to cherish every moment.
We’d love to talk or answer any of your questions. Please call or text Lifetime at 1.800.923.6784.
