Watch Our Video

Hi, we are Mark and Morgan. We like to spend time outside riding bikes and swinging on our front porch. We value time spent with friends, family and building community. We are committed to raising kind, loving, empathetic children who grow to love Jesus and love others well.

About Us

We have been together for 13 years and married for 10. We met while the two of us were working at a summer camp; this is a camp that we grew up attending and it remains an important part of our family to this day. We were married in the summer of 2015, and have enjoyed many adventures together since then.

As a couple we enjoy traveling, bike riding, trying new food (especially Pad Thai), and watching TV shows together (like Amazing Race, Survivor, Parenthood, and Big Bang Theory). We now live in Colorado with our two daughters and enjoy having extended family nearby.

We are choosing to adopt because we want to grow our family, and are now unable to do so biologically. Adoption is also a passion of ours. We have multiple extended family members who are adopted. We have seen the value of adoption and feel that we are a family who can love and care for another child in this way.

About Morgan

I am Morgan, born and raised in Colorado. I am the oldest of four girls. Growing up we were a girl household through and through. The girls of the house ruled the roost, and my dad loved it (we even had a girl dog!). My sisters and I grew up as close friends and still are to this day.

I came back to Colorado after graduating from college and got a job teaching 4th grade. I taught 4th grade for six years and loved that age. I decided to get my master’s in Special Education, and I taught Special Education for a year. Today I am primarily a stay-at-home mom. I love getting to spend every day with our children, loving, teaching, and helping them grow into kind, generous, successful people. I also have a small part-time job teaching ballet. I took ballet lessons from kindergarten through my senior year of high school and then pursued ballet education in college. I currently teach 5 hours a week with classes whose ages range from 3-11 years old, and one class for special needs dancers of all ages.

My favorite thing to do is grab a good book, a glass of iced tea (or hot in winter), sit in the sunshine and read! I also enjoy baking, riding bikes, and embroidery. I look forward to cuddling up in our rocking chair and reading books aloud to our next child. Sharing my love for reading is something I treasure with every one of my children, both current and future.

About Mark

I grew up in Colorado and feel so blessed to still live here. I am the youngest of three in my family. I grew up playing sports and enjoying a close group of childhood friends. Several of them are still my best friends to this day.

I graduated from college with a business degree and moved back to Colorado where I married the love of my life, Morgan. I started working at a nonprofit organization in a Marketing Department. I enjoyed the mission of the organization, but office life was not for me. I began down the path to become a Firefighter, and I am happy to say it has been my career for 8 years now. I get to make a difference in people’s lives every day. I love my job as a Firefighter, but the best job of all is being a husband and father. My kids bring me so much joy each day, and they are the reason for everything I do.

My hobbies are mountain biking, fly fishing, backpacking, listening to audio books or music, watching movies, playing guitar, and occasionally playing some video games (Call of Duty is my favorite). I look forward to teaching our next child all the things I know and sharing my hobbies with them. One of my plans for the next five years is to build a tree house like my father did for me! I hope to spend as much quality time together as possible to help them grow and learn to be the best they can be.

Our Family

After several years of working, traveling, and generally enjoying life as a new married couple, we decided to start our family. We had a hard beginning as our first daughter unexpectedly passed away hours after her birth in the spring of 2019. Her death was very hard for us to deal with, but our relationship grew deeper and we were made stronger through our shared grief. About a year and a half later in late 2020, we were blessed with another biological daughter, Josephine (age 4). Then in early 2023 we welcomed a third biological daughter into our family, Hallie (age 2). We love playing outside, playing dress up, doctor, princesses, and hide-and-seek. We also love reading books aloud throughout the day and also before bed each night. Both girls are friendly, joyful, and kind. We laugh a lot and enjoy going on adventures together.

Our other family member is a sweet, gentle, older dog named Riggs. We also have lots of extended family that live nearby. Both sets of grandparents are local and we see them regularly for dinner, playing at the park, babysitting the girls, and spending quality time together. A couple times a month we see our siblings as well. They almost all live in Colorado and spending time together is a high priority to us. All the aunts and uncles play an important role in our children’s lives. We also spend holidays with Morgan’s cousins and their families. Extended family plays a significant role in our lives, and they are truly a blessing.

Our Home

We are raising our family in a lovely home in a beautiful small town. This town is close the city that we both grew up in. Our home is two stories with 3 bedrooms and an unfinished basement. We built this home almost 3 years ago. The open concept of the home offers plenty of room inside for living and playing. The house is situated on a half-acre. The front and backyard offer all kinds of room to play and relax. In the winter we sled and make snow forts, and in the summer we enjoy relaxing on our front porch and playing on the swing set in the backyard. Our home is situated about a quarter mile from an amazing lake that offers fishing, paddleboarding, and all kinds of other great activities. The lake is also a gateway to one of the best walking/biking trails in the area, which we take advantage of regularly. We believe our home offers a dream environment for a young person to grow and learn.

Our Promise

We have so much love to give, and we promise to love your child with our whole hearts. As a couple we will work our hardest to raise a child who is well rounded and prepared to take on the challenges of life. As Christians we believe that our faith provides an amazing guide for developing good moral character and a kind, genuine human being. Our daily routines promote active living and thoughtful growth. As a family we strive to experience the fullness of life as much as possible. Education is an integral part of how we raise our children, and we promise to provide every opportunity we can to ensure that your child will be set up for an excellent future. We are excited about the opportunity provided in an open adoption. We would love to share photos, texts, emails, phone calls, and possible visits in the future. If chosen, our top priority would be to love and cherish your child and provide for them in every possible way.

We’d love to talk or answer any of your questions. Please call or text Lifetime at 1.800.923.6784.

More About Our Family

Adoption in Our Family

Adoption is an open discussion and held in high regard in our family and extended family. We both grew up with adoption being seen as a beautiful way to grow a family. Morgan’s mom grew up with multiple cousins who are adopted. Morgan also has a few cousins who are adopted. One of those cousins has recently adopted as well. One of Morgan’s closest friends (also a cousin) has adopted three times. We appreciate and honor adoption as an entire family, recognizing the beautiful impact it makes on everyone, immediate and extended.

Our Faith

Faith is a foundational element to our household. We are Christians who attend a non-denominational church. The most important Christian principle to us is the idea that we are called to love God and love others as best as we can. We are not perfect. We make mistakes, and we understand that the Church and people in it make mistakes. However, we believe wholeheartedly that Jesus came to the world, died on the cross to pay the price for our mistakes, and invites us to believe in that truth so that we can experience peace and forgiveness through Him. It is our intention to raise our children in this belief system, but we understand that forcing ideas is not beneficial. Instead, we believe in open and honest discussion where we teach and learn together. We strive to have the perspective to love people without judging them so that we can try to understand the complexities of our world together.

Education Plans

Education is something that is very important to our family. We want all of our children to be highly educated and have all the opportunities presented to them to achieve their dreams. Currently our oldest daughter is enrolled in a private high-achieving preschool. We also have placed our children on an enrollment list for a local charter school that places importance on moral values, and excellence with honor. We also recognize that all children are different, and we are dedicated to finding the right school and education pathway for each individual child. We want them to be successful and fulfill their dreams whether this is something academic or a specific trade.

Typical Weekend with Us

A weekend with our family.....We start off our morning with a good breakfast. Some of our favorite meals are pancakes, waffles, eggs, bacon, cinnamon rolls, or donuts. Then we normally do some kind of outdoor activity together like playing on the backyard swing set, walking to the park, sledding, or paddleboarding. Other activities that we like to do during our weekends are going out to eat, hiking, camping, and going to the zoo. Next is a healthy lunch followed up with a nice naptime. After naptime we typically try to hang out with some friends or family. We will often meet at a friend’s house for a BBQ so that our kids can all play together and have fun. If we go see family, we will normally go to one of their houses to relax and process the week. If we decide to have a low-key evening at home, then we will normally watch a movie/show all together while we enjoy dinner. Then we put the girls to bed for a good night’s sleep, and we will stay up together watching a show, reading, or doing a puzzle.

In Closing

We cannot wait to bring another child into our home to love and cherish. Raising our children has been the most wonderful part of our lives, and we will put the same love and care into this new life. Our family will always be open to sharing this wonderful journey with you, if you choose.
