Thanks so much for taking the time to get to know us! We truly love being parents and are beyond thrilled to be adopting again and cannot wait to share our lives, love, and stable household with our second child. Celebrating holidays, having fun together outdoors, and traveling are just some of the things we are excited to share. We would love to stay connected with you through letters, pictures, and visits at your comfort level.
About Us
We met in college during our freshman year. We were married in 2014 and moved to Virginia while Michael was in the Navy and returned to North Carolina after 3 years. After learning we could not have biological children, we felt drawn to the miracle of adoption and, in 2020 we were blessed with the adoption of our daughter. We are incredibly thankful and love her birth family so very much.
Things we love doing together include:
- Traveling- We tag along on Michael’s work trips which have taken us all over the world. Beach and mountain getaways happen many times per year!
- Going to church as a family- I am involved with our Children’s Ministry and Michael is a Deacon at our church.
- Playing Cornhole & Pickleball
- Enjoying the Pool in the Summer
- Fishing and hiking
- Reading: Education is a MAJOR priority for us and we love to learn new things.
- Celebrating and decorating for every holiday as a family.
We look forward to sharing our passions with our next child and including them in all of our family fun.
About Michael
Kristen says: Michael is the hardest-working person I know. He puts his all into everything he does, including his profession, family, and hobbies. He is the first to get up in the morning and the last to go to bed. His ideal night of relaxing is one at home with us, watching a family movie or a game of football. His priority is always making sure that Anne and I have everything we need.
Michael likes to be outdoors hiking, fishing, riding four-wheelers, or working in the yard. He also likes to build things and has built some shelving for me and a swing set for Anne!
He’s an incredible dad! When Anne masters a new skill, Michael is thrilled and wants to tell everyone about it! I can always count on him to be present and active in her life and I know he will do the same for our next child. Michael can’t wait to pass on his love of Jesus, family, the outdoors, and sports to our children.
About Kristen
Michael says: Kristen has so much love, patience, and compassion for all those around her. This is not just evident in our family but in her profession as a nurse. It has been a joy to watch Kristen teach, nurture, and love our daughter, Anne, over the past two years. And on more than one occasion, it has been a blessing to have a nurse in our home when someone is feeling under the weather!
In addition to being a full-time mom to Anne, Kristen loves to bake, garden, craft, and go fishing! She is passing these passions along to Anne and it is such a joy to see. Our neighbors always get excited when they see Kristen at their door because a tray of yummy treats is likely close at hand. Kristen is also very involved with the Children’s ministry at our church. I know she is excited to help nurture and teach our next child, all while sharing her passions with them as well.
Our Daughter and Family
Our daughter, Anne, is 3 years old and was adopted in 2020. She loves to laugh and can often be found sitting at a stool in the kitchen, “helping” Kristen bake or assisting her with planting flowers in our gardens. We know she will be a wonderful big sister!
We are also blessed to live less than five minutes from Kristen’s parents and only an hour away from Michael’s parents. We see both sets regularly and enjoy sharing meals together, playing games, and exploring our beautiful state on various adventures. We are also close with our siblings, aunts, uncles, and cousins and frequently gather for fun times! They are all thrilled that we are adopting again and look forward to welcoming home our next child.
Our Home in North Carolina
We finished building our dream home in 2022 and love it! Our house is a 4-bedroom home in a rural community that sits only 12 miles from a medium-sized city in North Carolina. We have a spacious front yard and so much room inside for family get-togethers, like when we host Thanksgiving! We love having space and room to play while still having access to world-class education, healthcare, and shopping venues that are only 15 minutes away.
We share our home with our 10-year-old red miniature dachshund named Gus! His favorite activities include sleeping, playing with Anne, and snuggling and playing with his toys!
Our Promise
Our promise to you is that your child will be loved. We will give your child every opportunity we can provide them; a loving and stable home, education, travel experiences, a church family, festive holidays, and lots of laughter. Adoption will be celebrated in our house and our child will always hear about how much we love and appreciate you. We are open to visits, letters, and pictures that match your level of comfort. We are praying for you and are eternally grateful for your time spent getting to know us!
