Hello! Thanks so much for taking the time to get to know us. We truly love being parents and are beyond thrilled to be adopting again and cannot wait to share our lives, love, and stable household with our second child. Celebrating holidays, having fun together outdoors, and traveling are just some of the things we are excited to share.  We would love to stay connected with you through letters, pictures, and visits at your comfort level.

About Us

We’ve been married for 12 years! After learning we could not have biological children, we felt drawn to adoption. In 2020 we were blessed with the adoption of our daughter. We are incredibly thankful to have been chosen as her adoptive parents and we love her birth family so very much. We’re humbled and excited about growing our family this way again!

Things we love doing together include:

  • Traveling- We tag along on Michael’s work trips which have taken us all over the world. Beach and mountain getaways happen many times per year!
  • Going to church as a family-Kristen is involved with our Children’s Ministry and Michael is a Deacon at our church.
  • Playing Cornhole & Pickleball
  • Enjoying the Pool in the Summer
  • Fishing and hiking
  • Reading: Michael loves historical non-fiction and Kristen loves historical fiction!
  • Celebrating and decorating for every holiday as a family.
  • Backyard s’mores by the firepit! We look forward to sharing our passions with our next child and including them in all of our family fun.

About Michael

Kristen says: Michael is the hardest-working person I know. He puts his all into everything he does, including his profession, family, and hobbies. He is the first to get up in the morning and the last to go to bed. His ideal night of relaxing is one at home with us, watching a family movie or a game of football. His priority is always making sure that Anne and I have everything we need.

Michael likes to be outdoors hiking, fishing, playing pickleball, golf or working in the yard. He also likes to build things and has built some shelving for me and a swing set for Anne!

Michael has coached Anne’s soccer team for several seasons. It is amazing to see how patient and kind he is to the kids and how much they learn and have fun playing soccer together.

He’s an incredible dad! When Anne masters a new skill, Michael is thrilled and wants to tell everyone about it! I can always count on him to be present and active in her life and I know he will do the same for our next child. Michael can’t wait to pass on his love of Jesus, family, the outdoors, and sports to our children.

About Kristen

Michael says: Kristen is an amazing mom. She puts the needs of our family before everything else. We can always count on her for a hug and an encouraging word when we need one. I’ve seen her work as a nurse and she has a warm heart and a gentle touch with her patients. We are blessed that she is able to be a stay-at-home mother and nurture and love our family.

She loves to play pickleball, craft, and bake! Decoupaging oyster shells and turning them into beautiful pieces of art is one of her specialties. Our family and friends enjoy Kristen’s baking regularly. Our daughter, Anne, has also taken an interest in baking and Kristen has loved including her in the kitchen as often as possible.

Kristen is very involved in our church and serves on the Children’s Ministry team. We are blessed to have her expertise and sweet nature with the children at church. Kristen’s heart for kids and family pour out through everything she does.

Our Daughter and Family

Our daughter, Anne, is 5 years old. She loves to laugh and join us for any adventure. Coloring, baking, playing soccer, and making jewelry are her newest hobbies. We know she will be a wonderful big sister!

We are also blessed to live less than five minutes from Kristen’s parents and only an hour away from Michael’s parents. We see both sets regularly and enjoy sharing meals together, playing games, and exploring our beautiful state on various adventures. We are also close with our siblings, aunts, uncles, and cousins and frequently gather for fun times! They are all thrilled that we are adopting again and look forward to welcoming home our next child.

Open Adoption in Our Family: We have an open adoption with Anne’s birth family and share pictures and updates with them regularly. Her birth parents gave us an incredible honor in choosing us to be her parents and we tell Anne this all the time as well as celebrate adoption in every way we can as a family.

Our Home in North Carolina

We finished building our dream home in 2022 and love it! Our house is a 4-bedroom home in a rural community that sits only 12 miles from a medium-sized city in North Carolina.  We have a spacious front yard and so much room inside for family get-togethers, like when we host Thanksgiving! We love having space and room to play while still having access to world-class education, healthcare, and shopping venues that are only 15 minutes away.

We share our home with our 1 year old dachshund named Woody! His favorite activities include playing with Anne, snuggling, and chasing his ball in the backyard!

Our Promise

Our promise to you is that your child will be loved. We will give your child every opportunity we can provide them; a loving and stable home, education, travel experiences, a church family, festive holidays, and lots of laughter. Adoption will be celebrated in our house and our child will always hear about how much we love and appreciate you. We are open to visits, letters, and pictures that match your level of comfort.  We are praying for you and are eternally grateful for your time spent getting to know us!
