Hello from the mitten state! We are Nic and Kelly, a Midwest couple from Michigan and parents to our 3 1/2-year-old son. We are a close-knit crew who value faith and family.
We feel incredibly blessed to have the opportunity to adopt and are so excited to grow our family. Having a happy and loving family has always been our dream.
About Us
We have been married for over five years and first met as coworkers. From the start, we worked well together and quickly discovered that we make a great team, something that has carried into every part of our marriage and family life.
For years, we have felt the desire to grow our family, and God has placed it on our hearts to open our home through adoption. We feel truly blessed for the life we have and believe we are called to share that love and stability with others.
We love spending time outdoors together—whether it’s tending to the yard, playing football in the backyard, or going on family bike rides through the neighborhood. We find joy in the small, everyday moments just as much as in the big ones. When it’s time to plan something special, we enjoy attending MSU football games, spending summer days “up north” on the lake, or sneaking away for a weekend concert or movie together.
Right now, we’re looking forward to preparing a nursery and creating a special space just for our new baby. Even more than that, we can’t wait to introduce them to our son, who is beyond excited to become a big brother.
About Kelly (written by Nic)
Kelly has such a big heart. She always wants the best for others and naturally takes on a nurturing, motherly role. People are drawn to her warmth and compassion. Kelly is a stay-at-home mom, and she does it with the best of them! She pours her heart into caring for our 3½-year-old son and keeping our home not just looking amazing, but truly feeling like a home. She’s the heartbeat of our family coordinating playdates, planning activities, and still finding time to serve others.
Kelly enjoys:
Kelly is an incredibly selfless person. She feels called by God to extend the blessings she has received and to give that same love, stability, and warmth to someone else, including our children.
About Nic (written by Kelly)
Nic is a devoted husband, father, and Christ-follower. Everything he does, he does with purpose and for the betterment of himself and our family. I appreciate that he leads our family with his servant heart and go-getter personality. As a father he is playful, encouraging, compassionate, and thoughtful. As a husband he is truly a partner by how he supports and cares for me while being trustworthy and loving.
A few of Nic’s interests are:
God has blessed Nic with a caring and fun-loving heart, one of which I can’t wait to see him share with the addition of another child to our family.
Our Family
Our Son: It all starts with our 3½-year-old son, Brooks, who made us a family. The best way to describe him is simple–he’s ready to be a big brother! Brooks is a gentle soul who already shows such a sweet and caring nature. He’s full of life and always smiling. Brooks loves being outside playing in the dirt with his trucks, using his imagination with his stuffed animals, and making his grandparents, aunts and uncles laugh. We love encouraging him to discover and follow his interests, even if that sometimes means a few extra messes or “oops” moments. Watching him grow, learn, and play brings us so much joy.
Our Pet: And of course, we can’t forget Teddy, our English Toy Spaniel. Teddy is as gentle and loving as they come. He loves belly rubs and naps in whatever room we’re in at the time. Though he’s starting to slow down a bit with age, he still joins in on family fun whenever he can.
Our Home in Michigan
Our home in Michigan is located in the heart of the state, giving us easy access to all the best destinations Michigan has to offer. Our neighborhood is tucked away in a quiet suburb with many young families and children playing, surrounded by farms, a river, and plenty of parks and trails. Our neighborhood is in a sought-after school district that focuses on academics and extra-curricular sports and groups.
We live on about an acre of land, which provides a big backyard that’s perfect for kids to play and explore. Our home is newly built and designed around a large, open kitchen, main living room and playroom, spaces where we spend most of our time together and with our extended family. It’s truly the heart of our home. With four bedrooms and a basement, we have plenty of room to grow our family and to host holidays or weekend gatherings with loved ones.
Our Promise
We promise to love your baby with unconditional love. We promise to raise them in a home centered around Jesus. We promise to give them a future full of opportunities, where they can grow into whoever they are meant to be, knowing they have our full support. We promise to provide a strong foundation that will help them weather life’s storms. We promise to be strong, supportive, and loving parents every single day.
After adoption, we look forward to beginning the next chapter of our family’s story with our newest member at the heart of it. We know we will never be perfect, but we will always be there, fully present, and devoted to your child’s happiness and well-being.
Finally, we are committed to building a healthy and loving relationship with you, if you desire. You can count on us to keep you connected and included as part of our family’s journey. We’d love to discuss with you how you prefer to stay connected.
We’d love to talk or answer any of your questions. Please call or text Lifetime at 1.800.923.6784.

More About Our Family
Top 3 Thoughts on Parenthood
1. Instill timeless values. We want to guide our children with values that will shape their identity and can be carried forward through generations.
2. Always be present. No matter the age or season of life, we will be there. You can count on us. When life feels uncertain, two things remain certain: God and family.
3. Provide guidance, not direction. We aim to offer experiences, resources, and wisdom so our children can make their own choices. Our role isn’t to direct their lives, but to give them a strong launchpad to become their authentic selves.
Plans for Our Next Child's Education
Education decisions will not be limited by financial constraints. As parents, it is our responsibility to plan ahead and provide the resources our child needs so they can pursue their education based on their passions. Our goal is to support a path where passion meets career stability, helping them grow into fulfilled, capable, and independent adults.
Extended Family
Our extended family is an absolute blessing and serves as our main support system in life. Both sets of our parents have been married for over 35 years and are wonderful role models, parents, and grandparents.
In addition, our siblings are always there supporting us through tough times and celebrating life’s happiest moments alongside us. Kelly has an older sister and younger brother, both of whom are married. Her younger brother and sister-in-law are expecting their first child. The baby will be the second grandchild in the family and a cousin for Brooks and our future child to grow up with. Nic has a younger brother we get to spend time with when he and his girlfriend are visiting from Colorado.
Most of our extended family lives in Michigan or within driving distance, which allows us to see them consistently and include them in our daily lives. You'll find us getting together throughout the year to celebrate birthdays, holidays, and life achievements. Their presence adds to the love, support, and sense of community that surrounds our family.

In Closing
In closing, we feel so incredibly fortunate to be where we are today. Our faith, our family, and the chance to open our home to another child mean everything to us. We understand the responsibility and expectations that come with adoption, and we’re ready to step into that space with open hearts. This is what we’re called to do and who we’re called to be. We couldn’t feel more confident that this is the right next step for our family, and we’re excited to see how God continues to work in our lives and in the life of our future little one.
