Hello from Mississippi! We are Nicholas & Katherine, a couple who has so much love to share! We are Christians, dog lovers, sports fans, and we love relaxing on the weekends. We are looking forward to getting to know you and we would love to hear from you!

Our Story

When we first met, we hit it off instantly. We didn’t know each other prior to meeting, but quickly found out that we had lots of mutual friends and were even neighbors at one point. We have now been married for just over five years and are truly each other’s best friend.

Nicholas is a supervisor at a home improvement store and Katherine is a paralegal at a law firm. We love to watch movies and spend time together. We are both Marvel fans, and we hope to share our love for those movies with our future child.

Together we enjoy:

  • Watching college football and baseball
  • Playing board games with family
  • Watching movies and tv shows
  • Working around the house on DIY projects
  • Traveling together

About Nicholas

Katherine says: Nicholas is very family-oriented, caring, and a hard worker. He loves to be outdoors, whether it’s hunting, fishing, or playing softball. He has recently started wood-working in his spare time and has created some beautiful pieces.

Nicholas will be a wonderful father to our future child. I have already seen him be the best father to our previous foster children. I saw so much love and adoration from Nicholas when we opened up our home to children in our community.

Nicholas looks forward to spending time outdoors with our future child. He hopes to teach him or her different sports, as well as important outdoor life skills.

Nicholas enjoys:

  • Spending time outdoors
  • Spending time with both of our families
  • Learning new wood-working skills
  • Watching and playing sports

About Katherine

Nicholas says: Katherine is deeply loyal, hardworking, family oriented and passionate about the people around her. She has faced a lot of obstacles in her life, and she has remained strong throughout all of it.  She is very loving to everyone around her, including her two little nieces. Katherine is always willing to help others before herself and goes the extra mile to help. She enjoys spending time with both our families. From watching her take care of our previous foster children and playing with her nieces, I know she will be a devoted and supportive mother who will help our children succeed in life.

Katherine looks forward to reading and playing with our future child. She hopes to go on many adventures around town with him or her and doing fun activities as they grow up.

Katherine enjoys:

  • Reading
  • Spending time with her nieces
  • Playing board games with our families
  • Cooking and baking
  • Restoring furniture

Our Family

We are both very close with our immediate families. We have in total four nieces and two nephews who we love spending time with, when possible. We always try to get together with our families on each holiday and we talk with our parents and siblings at least weekly, if not daily. Our families have many traditions to pass on to our future child such as a big family dinner on Sundays, board game nights, and matching family Christmas pajamas. We look forward to sharing our families’ traditions as well as creating our own.

Nicholas also has two family members who have adopted children. Both of our families understand our desire to adopt on many different levels and are so excited for us to become parents through adoption. We have a wonderful support system on both sides of our families, and we cannot wait for our child to join our own.

Our Home in Mississippi

We live in a three-bedroom home in a small town in North Mississippi, in a great neighborhood with wonderful neighbors. We have a huge fenced in backyard with lots of room to run and play safely, as well as a large deck in the backyard with a safety gate where we like to spend summer evenings grilling and playing with our dogs.

We love our small town and its charm. We have fantastic childcare and school ratings in our town, and we are just a short 20-minute drive to the nearby larger city for shopping. We are near several parks and are in walking distance to our town.

Our Promise

We promise to love your child unconditionally. We promise that your child will be welcomed into our family with open, loving arms. We promise to raise your child in a Christian home and teach him or her strong family values. We promise to honor your child’s adoption story and will maintain a level of contact that you feel comfortable with.

We’d love to talk or answer any of your questions. Please call or text Lifetime at 1.800.923.6784.

More About Our Family

Our Pets

We both have a special place in our hearts for animals. We have two rescue dogs both named Bella, which is special to us because we chose the same names before we ever met. Our dogs are very friendly to children and love to interact with everyone.

Our Faith

God is the center of our marriage and lives. We strongly feel that God led us to adoption and when the time comes, He will find the perfect child and perfect family for us.

Our Thoughts on Open Adoption

We absolutely love the idea of an open adoption! We feel that it is best for the child to know where they came from and that their birth family is there to help with any questions they might have as they grow up. As previous foster parents, we have experience in sharing photos and ongoing communication with birth families. Our hope with an open adoption is that our future child is able to learn as much about their culture and heritage as possible. We are open to as much or as little communication as you are comfortable with.

Plans for Our Child's Education

We plan to enroll our future child in a daycare that also has a preschool. We have a fantastic daycare in our town that we have an established relationship with and love the thought of our child attending the center for his or her first years all the way through preschool.

After preschool, we plan to enroll our child in our local public school system. Our town is very diverse and has great school ratings. While we do have great homeschool programs and private schools in our area, we love the idea of our child having the same type of public education that we did growing up and knowing that he or she will have the best education possible in our schools.

In Closing

We are a couple who have strong Christian values and love spending as much time together as possible. We believe it's important for a child to know they have a loving home, and we vow to show him or her that every day. We look forward to getting to know you and answering any questions you may have.
