Howdy from deep in the heart of Texas! We’re a warm and loving couple with a whole lotta experience with kids, and we’re dreaming of adding a little one to our family.
Children are a constant and joyful part of our lives. We both come from large loving and supportive families who value spending time with each other. We can’t wait to share that love and experience with a child.

Us Then and Now
Over the last nearly two decades Oscar and I have been together. Our relationship has evolved from feeling butterflies in our stomachs when we spent time together to a more mature love held up by unconditional love and support.
When we were dating, we loved going to the movies together. While we still enjoy watching movies- now we like staying at home and streaming movies while enjoying homemade popcorn! It is one of the things we find helps us reconnect after a long week. Also, going on walks and hiking is one of the things we enjoy doing together the most! We also love to travel!
Quality time and unconditional love and support is an important element in all of our relationships, and it is something that we plan on carrying on with your child.
About Eva
Oscar says: Eva has dedicated her life to children. For over 20 years, she has been nurturing young minds – first at a children’s shelter where she helped manage a foster care program, and then as an elementary school teacher and administrator. Kids are her passion! She cannot wait to read bedtime stories with our child and tuck them into bed at night!

About Oscar
Eva says: Oscar, with his big, bustling family (over 20 nieces and nephews!), is a natural with children. He’s spent nearly two decades working for a local school district, keeping schools in tip-top shape for kids of all ages. Oscar looks forward to going to the park to teach our child how to play soccer and going out for ice cream!
Eva describes Oscar as…

Our Family
Eva is the oldest of three girls. Both of her sisters and mother live in the same city as we do. Her middle sister is married and has five children. Her youngest sister still lives at home. She is studying to be a child psychologist. She texts with her mom and sisters daily and have phone conversations with her mom at least once a day. We visit my mom and younger sister every weekend and usually have lunch after Sunday mass with them. We always get together to celebrate birthdays and holidays. Eva’s favorite family tradition is how they celebrate Christmas. We always come together the night of Christmas Eve to eat traditional Mexican goodies such as pozole and tamales as we wait for midnight to open presents! Another thing we enjoy doing as a family is having karaoke and game nights.
Oscar is the seventh out of eight children. All of his siblings, except for the oldest, live in the same city we do. They have children ranging from elementary school-age to adults. Our child will have plenty of playmates! Oscar’s family are big soccer fans. Family get-togethers consist of more Mexican goodies and watching soccer games!
Our desire to adopt isn’t just our own, it’s shared by our large and loving extended families. They are overjoyed at the prospect of welcoming a new member, and their enthusiasm speaks volumes about the supportive and loving environment our child will be entering. In fact, Eva’s mother is so excited that she’s making a significant life change – moving from her lifelong home to be closer to us and offer her support. This highlights the commitment and love that awaits our child, extending beyond just the two of us to encompass a whole network of eager and loving family members.
Our Home in Texas
We live in a quiet neighborhood within a large Texas city. We live in a spacious three-bedroom traditional brick home. Our backyard is not only large enough for flower beds, but it is also the perfect size to add a swing set! The best thing about our home is that it is centrally located, and we have many parks, museums, and restaurants close by.
We also have three dogs- Chico, Princess, and Foxy. They are all rescues. They are all calm in nature and good with children. They all enjoy a good belly rub!

More About Our Family
Our Story (told by Eva)
Our story began with a spark of connection that even my first-grade students couldn't miss! Oscar came to my classroom to replace a light bulb. As he was leaving, my students playfully pointed out my rosy cheeks, much to my embarrassment. It seems I was already smitten! The next day, he returned while the children were out of the room, admitting that I looked familiar. We quickly discovered we had attended the same middle school and high school, though our paths had never crossed back then. We exchanged numbers, and our connection deepened quickly. Soon, we were dating, and in no time at all, we were engaged! That was almost eighteen years ago, and our relationship has only grown stronger with time. This foundation of shared history and undeniable connection has created a loving and stable home, ready to welcome a child into its embrace.
Why Adoption?
Building a family has always been our dream. Even when we imagined having biological children, adoption held a special place in our hearts as a way to grow our family. While we faced the heartbreak of infertility, it ultimately led us to this path – a path we now embrace wholeheartedly.
Our Faith
We are Catholic and actively participate in our parish. We still attend the church we went to as children and hope to continue that tradition. Throughout the years, we have served in multiple roles but currently we are part of a family faith formation group. They have also been supportive of our decision to adopt and are excited to welcome a new member to the group!
Our Special Interests
We both enjoy traveling and trying new foods! We try to take a vacation at least once or twice a year. We enjoy everything from road tripping to going on hikes to enjoy the beauty of nature or flying across seas to learn about new cultures!
Music is universal and we both enjoy all genres of music! Oscar especially likes old school country music. Eva enjoys traditional Mexican music but we both share a love of rock en español! Dancing is our preferred choice of exercise!
Eva was always close to her grandmother. She showed her all she knows about cooking and baking. Being in the kitchen helps Eva feel connected to her. She especially likes making sweet treats and Oscar really enjoys eating them!
