Hello, we are Paul and Rebecca. We are a Christian couple who loves to read aloud together, hike, and travel to new places. We met at church and married about 11 years ago. Though we wanted to begin a family early in our marriage, we have been unable to have a baby. Because of this we are looking forward to starting our family in Oklahoma through adoption. Our prayer is that we’ll be able to make a connection with you, and that we will grow closer to you through open adoption.

A Typical Week with Us

Our week begins with attending church, an event we look forward to and enjoy. The workweek includes us working together in our home business alongside Paul’s Dad. Rebecca enjoys gardening and creating a cozy home where we can live and entertain. Paul is handy around the house and can fix just about anything that needs to be fixed, including electrical, plumbing, and structural issues around the house. We each have hobbies that we work on together — Rebecca likes to paint while Paul enjoys learning to code. We enjoy each other’s company as we pursue these hobbies.

Our two pets keep us entertained and provide warm company in the evenings as we relax and prepare for the next day. Before bed, we enjoy reading books together out loud and watching comedy, fantasy, and action movies.

About Paul

Rebecca says: Paul has a creative mind that is always wondering how something works and how to make it better. He is a mechanical engineer and worked in the same cubical as his dad for a couple of months directly out of college. He loves puzzles, both for work and fun. In his free time, Paul likes to play games, video or board, and I enjoy helping him solve the puzzles they present. Paul is also very active and stays physically fit by playing ultimate frisbee, going to the gym, and having push-up competitions with his sister. Other activities Paul enjoys are mountain biking, rock climbing, and snowboarding. He looks forward to one day sharing his love of playing sports and creating fun Lego contraptions with our kids.

About Rebecca

Paul says: Rebecca is creative. She loves to learn new skills; she has learned to knit, crochet, sew, and recently paint, but not all of her projects are hobbies. She often works on how to improve our home by learning what plants are native to our area, raising quail, learning how to care for our fruit trees, and designing a garden. Rebecca cooks most of our meals at home. She loves experimenting with new flavors and recipes. Rebecca is excited about becoming a stay-at-home mom. She looks forward to one day homeschooling our children.

Our Home in Oklahoma

Our house is situated atop a hill from which you can see the nearby lake. We get to see the sun rise and set almost every day. Our nearly two acres have multiple fruit trees such as pecan, apple, nectarine, and Paul’s favorite, peach! The large bedrooms allow space for family to come and visit, as well as provide plenty of nursery space. We live near a couple of small towns with close-knit communities that do monthly farmers’ markets. We enjoy driving past ranches on the long country roads here. Occasionally we drive into Dallas to go to Six Flags and ride roller coasters.

We have two pets: Achilles, a sweet German Shepherd dog, and Hobbes, a Siberian cat.

Our Family

Our families are an integral part of our lives. With family on both coasts, we like to travel to visit them frequently. Paul is the only boy among three sisters and Rebecca is the oldest of three. Growing up in Washington both our families enjoyed berry picking, going to the beach, hiking, and the occasional snowstorm in winter. We rotate hosting holidays such as Easter, Thanksgiving with a traditional turkey meal (and of course pies), and Christmas where we light advent candles, go caroling, and try to find the best Christmas presents for friends and family.

Our Promise

Our promise to you is that we will raise your child in a loving, stable home that will allow them to develop into the person God would have them be. We will teach them of the unconditional love God has for them and to walk in His ways. We promise to give them a good education and to help them to develop skills beneficial to living their best life. We will commit to fostering a relationship with you so that our child will know how loved they are.

We’d love to talk or answer any of your questions. Please call or text Lifetime at 1.800.923.6784.

More About Our Family

Our Travels

We have inherited a love of travel that Paul developed in his childhood. Having family and friends all over the country, in Canada, and at times in Europe, we have had the privilege of traveling to many exotic and more mundane places, including:
• Washington
• Oregon
• Oklahoma
• Texas
• Alaska
• Arkansas
• Idaho
• Virginia
• Florida
• Colorado
• North Carolina
• Minnesota
• Nevada
• Hawaii
• Washington D.C.
• Canada
• Hungary
• South Africa
Paul has driven through and visited all 48 of the lower contiguous states with his family, and we have visited Hawaii and Alaska together. Like Paul's family, we plan to travel with our kids and incorporate the extensive opportunities for education that exploring new places allows. We hope to allow them to experience new cultures and places and learn to share their excitement with others.

Creative Projects

We love spending time together; even though our interests can be very different, we find ways of not only learning and exploring each other's hobbies, but working together. Paul enjoys creating a new game and learning to code and using his creativity and puzzle solving skills to help him build something new. Rebecca enjoys drawing and is using her skills to come up with concept art for the game. We try to encourage each other in our pursuits and find ways to work together.

More About Our Pets

Achilles is our 10-year-old German Shepherd. He is a sweet dog that has inspired some of our friends to get a dog because of how amazing he is. He is gentle, energetic, and a big softy. He is best friends with our cat, Hobbes.

Hobbes is our 3-year-old Siberian cat. He is big, fluffy, and hypoallergenic. He is a super snuggler, and loves to snuggle with kids.

We Love Pies!

Both of our families like pies, but Rebecca quickly learned at the first Thanksgiving with Paul's family that they take pie to another level! His mom made 12 different pies (for 30+ people)! Paul's favorite pie is strawberry kiwi rhubarb. His mom intended to make strawberry rhubarb one year for his graduation, but didn't have enough rhubarb, so she substituted half of it for kiwi. He loved it, and still does.

Rebecca's favorite pie is nectar berry. Growing up she went berry picking with her mom at a family friend's farm where they had nectar berries. They eventually sold the farm, and her parents looked a long time to find nectar berry plants to grow in their yard. The goal was to get at least one pie a year. They produced many delicious pies over the years (way more than one pie a year). Later her family learned that another name for nectar berries is boysenberries.

And of course, it wouldn't be Pi Day without pie, so every March 14th is another perfect excuse to enjoy our favorite dessert.

In Closing

We are excited to give a child a loving home close to family and friends. We look forward to sharing our love of the outdoors, cooking good food together, and building fun contraptions. Our child will grow up being able to swim in the lake, see the stars, pick fruit, and enjoy community events. We look forward to hearing from you!
