Hello from North Carolina! We are Percy and Jennifer. We have been married for 18 years. We are a fun-loving Christian Couple. We enjoy spending time with our families as well as our church family. We are looking forward to getting to know you and learning what you want for your child. We are excited about adoption, and about becoming first time parents.
About Us
We met at work some years ago and were friends for a few years before we dated and eventually married. We enjoy spending time with our family–parents, siblings, nieces and nephews. We also enjoy spending time with our church family, and with each other. We consider it an honor to have you look at us to possibly entrust us with your child, and do not take it lightly. We have been on a long journey to conceive on our own without any success and would love to raise and be a blessing to a child in an environment that has lots of love. We were foster parents for about 2 years, and although we enjoyed giving those children love, we wanted permanency instead of the temporary atmosphere that foster care brings with children in and out or our home.
We enjoy watching movies and playing games, and spending time with our two Godsons. We also enjoy traveling, family vacations, and attending sporting events and Christian contemporary concerts together.
About Percy
Jennifer says: Percy is a fun-loving individual who likes to joke around, but also has his serious side. His twin brother, Perry, and I are his best friends. He is a creative and technical individual that loves hanging out with friends and being silly with kids, when given the opportunity. He is very good with managing finances. In his free time Percy enjoys watching sports, especially football, wrestling, basketball, and Olympics. He also enjoys watching ESPN and retro (old school) comedy shows. Playing games and traveling are some his favorite pastimes.
Percy is the Media Director at our church. He is at all services directing volunteers on cameras, making sure services are up online. He also edits messages for radio and tv, making sure services are sent to those entities in a timely manner. Percy is also on the ministry team and helps with hospital visits and assisting with funerals at the church.
Percy is looking forward to spending quality time with our child, playing with them, and teaching them about God.
About Jennifer
Percy says: Jennifer is a responsible, caring and determined woman. She likes to see others thriving and succeeding, and definitely has a heart for the underdog. She hates to see others mistreated. In her spare time, Jennifer likes to read, find a good movie, or put together a puzzle. You can also find her watching the Carolina Tarheels during college basketball season. Don’t be surprised to see her hairstyle change from time to time.
Jennifer is a musical person who sang in church choirs for years. She took piano as a child and still plays as a hobby when she gets the chance. You can often find her listening to old school gospel music, Christian contemporary music, or just singing in the house or car during any given day. In the spring and summer, you will find her outside tending to her flower beds. She currently serves at church on the Media Ministry, Visual Arts Ministry, and Ministry of Encouragement where she visits nursing homes and sends out get well and sympathy cards to members. Jennifer occasionally designs Christian t-shirts too.
Jennifer works as a Leave Coordinator for the corporate office of a financial company. She assists employees going out on leave for maternity leaves, surgeries, medical procedures, Military leave, and leaves to take care of family.
Jennifer is looking forward to spending quality time with our child, playing with them, showing them about the true love of God, and being a responsible individual, but not to ever take yourself too seriously.
Our Family
Our families live in the area, and we enjoy getting together with them a few times a month.
Percy’s parents live about 40 minutes from us and are a retired couple that is very active in their community. Percy’s dad is a Vietnam veteran that participates in local honor guard duties. Percy’s mom likes to participate in local groups in the community. They love spending time with their grandkids, great grandkids, and their dogs. We enjoy celebrating family birthdays and getting together as a family at least once a month to do an activity, whether it is miniature golf, bowling, or just having a meal together. Percy has a twin brother, and also an older sister who has two sons.
Jennifer’s Parents live about 25 minutes from us in the country. They are a retired couple that likes to work in their yard, keep their church yard cleaned up, and visit others. They have a big yard that would definitely provide a place for a child to run and play when we go visit them. Jennifer has an older sister that is a hard worker. Although Jennifer’s parents enjoy their nieces and nephews, they are definitely looking forward to their first grandchild and will give our child plenty of love.
We really enjoy having family get togethers around the holidays. Our families will welcome our child with open arms.
Our Home in North Carolina
We live in a three-bedroom, single story home in a very quiet neighborhood. We have a big backyard for a child to run and play. We enjoy sitting out on our deck and enjoying the backyard. We have several parks nearby. We are very close to areas with grocery stores, trampoline parks, and nearby restaurants. We are only a few hours from the mountains and the beach. Our home is filled with lots of love and laughter.
Our Promise
As parents, we will love and protect your child. We promise to raise him or her in a Christian home, to be strong and respectful, and to treat others with respect. We look forward to nurturing any special gifts or talents that this child may have, whether it is on an educational level, sports, music, or something else. We want to make sure we spend quality time as a family, spending time at the dinner table, playing games, going on family vacations, and special occasions such as birthdays and holidays. We look forward to living life to the fullest with our child, having moments of spontaneity and enjoying everyday life with this child.
We would like to share photos, phone calls, and share updates with you as your child grows up, or whatever you are open to. We want to make sure that your child knows who you are and respects you and the decision that you have made in entrusting us with this special gift.

More About Our Family
Why We Are Adopting
We went through several years of infertility. We also went through IVF twice and fostered children for two years, but did not end up with a child in our home permanently. We still have that desire to be a blessing in a child's life and believe they would be a blessing in our lives as well. We want to help a child be the best they can be!
Our Faith
We are both Christians. We believe in God and that Jesus is His resurrected Son that died on the cross to save us from our sins. We believe in the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Our Faith is one of the most important things in our lives because we both feel that we do not want to live without Jesus in our lives.
Fun Facts
Percy was a Communications major and always wanted to work in radio. Although he did work in radio for a few years mainly doing production commercials for a group of stations, he did not stay there. He also was a traffic reporter for a few years flying around in planes and providing traffic reports to different radio stations.
When Jennifer was young, she wanted to work in the Fashion Industry and even went to school for two years for Fashion merchandising and retail management. She worked in retail for about 6 years and then went back to school for Business Administration and has now worked in Human Resources for 19 years.
3 Things on Our Bucket List
1.) Percy-To visit all 50 states (We have made it to quite a few, but not all yet!)
2.) Together -To be fluent in a foreign language (We both only know a few words and phrases from school.)
3.) Jennifer-To go on a mission trip someday.
