Hello! We are thrilled to become first time parents through adoption. We have so much time and love to spare and can’t wait to fill that space with a little one. We will instill the Fruits of the Spirit (leading to compassion, kindness, and resilience) as key values in our child, along with work ethic and the importance of education and situational awareness. Within our home, giving our child a sense of safety and security will be a priority, making sure he or she will feel loved and nurtured throughout their development. Since we both work from home and have close family, we will have a lot of support and flexibility to accommodate our future child. We will have honest and open conversations with our child about adoption from the start. We would love to get to know you and learn about the life you want for your child.

About Us

We are certain God brought us together from the start considering all of the unlikely circumstances, trials, and blessings that led to our relationship. We have had aligning goals since we met, making sure we continually grow to be better versions of ourselves and invest in a future that can provide an amazing life for children. From our day one conversations about wanting children, we knew we wanted to adopt a child as Christ has adopted us into His Kingdom. We look forward to sharing our love of God and all His creation with our child by doing things like hiking and biking on a regular basis to spending time on the family ranch where our kiddo can be surrounded by puppies, chicks, calves, and more. He or she will have all the adventure, family, and security life can offer.

Things we enjoy doing together:

  • Working out- While Pete loves lifting weights and is slowly dabbling in jiu-jitsu, Miranda enjoys her professional MMA training and will continue training and teaching jiu-jitsu even after retiring. She plans to teach our child jiu-jitsu as well  to learn discipline, confidence, and self-defense.
  • Hiking- We hike throughout the year to enjoy the beautiful scenery Colorado has to offer and we look forward to taking our kiddo with us to see the waterfalls, mountains, and more.
  • Cooking/Baking- What started as just healthy meal prepping has evolved into fun date nights experimenting with tasting and making tons of new food, both unhealthy and healthy!
  • Reading- Whether in bed in the winter or picnicking under a tree in the spring, picking up a good book and reading aloud to each other, or reading separately, is something we both love.

About Pete

Miranda’s Take: In today’s society, having a strong father figure that is gentle and loving but also protective and faithful is rare, to say the least. However, Pete encompasses this role, leading our family toward a stable and healthy future. He sticks by me no matter what and is always the first one to calm things down and talk it out any time there are issues that arise. Pete is funny, sweet, and always looking for something new to learn. He is also very fun-loving and quick-witted, bringing a laugh to any room. Some things I love about Pete the most are how much he loves his family and tries to grow closer to God and spread the gospel wherever he is. Pete will show our child(ren) how to navigate this scary world and in the meantime let them know they are loved, supported, and protected.

Pete has a flexible remote work schedule and will be around our child(ren) constantly with his job as a senior contract specialist for a subset of the CIA. In his free time, he enjoys working out, spending time with family, reading outside in the hammock, trying out new foods, playing music with his guitar, and listening to music. I can’t wait to see him adding to that list by finding things to do with our child. Pete is excited to teach our child to play instruments, help them build campfires, and ride bikes with him or her on all the trails!

About Miranda

Pete’s Take: From the day I met her, Miranda has been intentional with her thoughts, words, and actions; I know she will be very intentional with our child too, focusing her attention and compassion on him or her. Miranda is amazing with children, teaching kids’ jiu-jitsu classes since she was 16 and helping raise her younger siblings, homeschooling them starting when she was just 11 years old. Miranda is very talented from many perspectives: business, financial, academic, and athletic. Her drive and tenacity reflect in her life, but she is also one of the most playful people I know, tickling or tormenting or singing made-up songs to bring joy on the dreariest days. When Miranda is not training for her next UFC fight or doing data analytics for her other job, she enjoys working on growing her small businesses (making pickles and raising bees), hiking, reading, and drawing.

As much hard work and passion as Miranda pours into her careers, I know she with pour even more into our child. I can’t wait to see her become a mother to our child(ren), a dream she has been waiting to come true for a while. Miranda most looks forward to reading books to our child, teaching them math and jiu-jitsu, and introducing him or her to all of the farm animals.

Our Family

Most of Miranda’s family lives out of state on the family ranch. We own land and a home attached to her parents’ land and eventually will make our lives there to raise our kiddos around the ranch animals, work ethic, and nature that only the country can provide. Miranda’s family is very close-knit from in-laws to siblings, with regular phone calls to check in and a family-wide call once a week to catch up and share needed prayers. Her younger sister lives just a couple miles from us, which will provide a great resource when needed. Her parents can’t wait to hold their first grandbaby!

Pete is the middle child of five kids. His family is spread out in many states, but they are all very supportive of our adoption journey and already want every update and are ready for all the baby pictures. We love our big family get togethers for holidays and numerous family celebrations. Some of our favorite things to do as a family are going on walks and playing with our numerous nieces and nephews at the local parks, going to farmer’s markets, having game nights, and baking together.

Both of our families are extremely supportive of us adopting and wish they had done it when we were young as well.  They are all so very excited to meet our future son or daughter!

Our Home in Colorado

Currently we live in a suburb outside of Denver in an amazing community that is safe and full of children. There are tons of programs for kids both young and old at local community centers. Our home is a spacious three-story house with space for both of us to have our own in-home offices for our remote work, a lovely room for our future kiddo, and an extra room for guests or more kids! The heart of our home is our large kitchen and living space where we plan to spend most of our inside family time together. The scenery around us is beautiful, but one of our favorite things is the backyard where we love hammocking and reading and doing tons of DIY projects. We envision playing with our child there in the near future and also taking them to the numerous parks and trails near us. We currently share our home with a single mom and her two young daughters we met through a Bible study; they live in our basement area with a separate entrance. The two girls love doing art projects with Miranda and harassing Pete to help them do a weenie roast outside. They can’t wait to meet our baby and have already showed us the toys they are going to share with him or her!

We also have a home in Missouri adjacent to Miranda’s family ranch. There our child(ren) will be surrounded by a secure, strong support system and never be bored with all the things to do. A creek runs through the property where they can fish, catch crawdads, and swim. We have tons of animals to help raise and play with, and there are never-ending opportunities to learn life skills from gardening to camping.

Our Promise

Our promise to you is that we will love your child sacrificially and show him or her support throughout development and beyond. We will give them a home that is safe, encouraging, full of laughter, and allows them security to thrive and chase their dreams. We will make sure childhood for them is one of joy, fun, and growth that they can look back on and see effort and love put into their raising. We will pray for and with him or her continuously, raising them knowing both God’s love and our own love for them!

We promise to teach them about their beautiful adoption story and their culture, to further aid in the development of their own identity. We promise to honor and respect you throughout the development of your child and want to hear about your needs and desires for your child. Should you want an open adoption, we are happy to share milestones with you through letters, emails, texts or occasional visits if you desire.

We’d love to talk or answer any of your questions. Please call or text Lifetime at 1.800.923.6784.

More About Our Family

Our Love of Christ

We both grew up in homes where God was the center of the family. Faith is what helped our families through their toughest trials, and the same has been true for us. From ups and downs in all aspects of our relationship, keeping Christ at the center has been key. We believe in the authority of the Gospel and that salvation is by grace alone through faith in Christ; however, faith without works is dead. We believe in the Holy Trinity-God, Christ, and the Holy Spirit-and that Jesus Christ died for our sins and was resurrected to be with our Father in Heaven. These same beliefs are held by our church, which we plan to be even more active in once we have a child, so that his or her life may be filled and surrounded by other Christians and the love of God.

Our Love for Children

We have both known we wanted to be parents and spoke about having kids since our first date! As parents, we will make sure our child knows they were CHOSEN to be in our lives, and we will strive each day to show them our passion and purpose of being good parents.

Written by Pete: Miranda has gravitated towards children since a youth herself; she helped raise her two siblings. She has been babysitting and teaching kids' jiu-jitsu classes since she was 16, and now travels and teaches seminars around the country focused on anti-bullying and self-defense for kids. Our roommate's daughters cling to her like she is their big sister... the list goes on. I can't wait for Miranda to get to love on our children the way she does every child she is introduced to.

Written by Miranda: Pete is this big strong guy with the biggest heart and happiest personality. While my go-to is usually teaching or playing with kids, Pete loves talking to them and showing them how to do things. He is wonderful with his nieces and nephews, doing everything with them from building paper airplanes to playing house. Pete is at the gym when I teach kids classes and they are always trying to climb him like a jungle gym; Pete plays with them until he is worn out or they are! Watching him with the kids always lights up my world and I can't wait to see him that way with our own child(ren).

Our Love for Nature

We love enjoying sunshine any way we can. When we are out away from people and pollution, we feel more connected to God, plus the sunshine is good for mental health, your skin, exercise, etc. I would say some of our fondest memories have been made during our site-seeing, hiking, camping, sledding down snowy hills, splashing each other with water, or the other hundreds of things we find ourselves doing in the middle of the woods or mountains.

Miranda was born and raised working on farms and ranches around the US and now that her family is settled, our little family will get to enjoy the country lifestyle! Surrounded by animals (honeybees, deer, turkeys, fish, chickens, dogs, and cows), we get to be surrounded by God's creation on her family's ranch. We get to be interactive with nature constantly there spotting a buckeye tree, picking wild onions, gathering Morel mushrooms, wading in the creek, and so much more. We can't wait to share our love of nature with our child from daily walks to more exciting adventures.

Our Love for Learning

Education is and will always be a priority in our home. While knowledge as a base is very important, we find practical application to be even more critical and want our teaching style to reflect that. We plan to show our children how to be young entrepreneurs through starting businesses based on what they love to do, teach them how to value/handle their finances through working and earning allowances/income, to value discipline and safety through learning jiu-jitsu, and to value life through helping raise animals.

For schooling, we plan to homeschool. Both of us work from home and Miranda has a ton of experience homeschooling, while Pete was homeschooled himself. Homeschooling is a remarkable experience where not only kids can learn in their own way at their own pace, but also learn practical skills hands-on around their supportive family. There are tons of programs, clubs, and sports that our children can choose to take part in here in CO and in MO. Once our children are old enough, we will give them the option of attending public school if they choose and will encourage them to go after their dreams.

In Closing

Thank you for taking the time to get to know us! We have been praying for you and your child and are preparing to welcome a little one into our home. We are so excited for the dream of becoming parents to become a reality. We are committed to providing your child with unconditional love, and supporting and guiding them to know that they are unique and a loved child of God. From working remotely to being around a strong family support system, your child will never know neglect or distance. We look forward to this journey with you and will be happy to continuously share milestones and special moments, if you choose. We will be happy to answer any questions you may have!
