Watch Our Video

Hello! We’re grateful for this chance to share with you about the life we’d love to offer as adoptive parents to your child. We live in California just a couple hours from the mountains or the ocean, where the weather is great all year, we have lots things we can do outdoors, and there are several sports teams to go watch (we’re big sports fans!). Raising a child together will be a dream come true. After years of being unable to have a child biologically, our story led us to adoption. We’re excited about adopting our first child and would love to get to know more about you and your little one.

A Little About Us

We met online and had our first date one week later over coffee and sandwiches. Our friends say we are made for each other! We’ve been happily married over 8 years and look forward to many more to come.

As a couple we like:
• Taking walks around our neighborhood
• Running in races, locally or out of state
• Cooking dinner together after work
• Traveling around the US or the world
• Touring historical sites or sports venues
• Hikes at national parks
• Movies (Randell loves Marvel films!)
• Watching sports and meeting professional athletes
• Volunteering at the annual French Film Festival

About Heather

According to Randell: Heather is kind and considerate. I am so lucky to know her! As my wife and best friend, she complements me in the best ways. Heather will be a great mom and I know she looks forward to sharing so much with a child.

Heather enjoys:
• Fitness classes and Zumba
• Going for a walk or run after work
• Collecting sports trading cards (especially for hockey and baseball)
• Yard work or gardening
• Horseback riding

About Randell

According to Heather: Randell is patient, caring, and carefree yet responsible. He is always learning something new. He’s a kid at heart who still gets excited when he discovers new things! I know Randell will be a fun, loving, and understanding father.

Randell enjoys:
• History and reading
• Exercising at the gym, or running, bicycling, or hiking
• Amusement parks
• Comic conventions
• Bowling

Our Home in Northern California

We live in the northern part of the California Central Valley. Our suburban neighborhood is quiet. We like being close to the coast and the mountains, and also near a major airport and train station so we can easily travel. We are close to schools, playgrounds, and parks with tennis and basketball courts. Plus, we’re central to several arenas where we can enjoy some of our local pro sports throughout the year. Our two-story house has 4 bedrooms and was built just before we got married. We look forward to converting one of the spare rooms into our child’s room after we adopt.

Our Family & Friends

Time with our family and closest friends is something we treasure as often as possible. We have family locally, as well as on the east coast. Heather’s mom and Randell’s parents live within minutes of us, and Heather has extended family just an hour away. Most of Randell’s relatives are in New York, Virginia, North Carolina, and Georgia. We enjoy visiting our loved ones and having dinners together to catch up. Everyone in our lives is excited about our hopes to adopt a child, especially since this will be the first grandchild on both sides of our family. We even have close friends who were adopted, who have helped us learn from their own experiences with adoption. We look forward to welcoming a child into this loving circle of ours!

Heartfelt Thoughts...

We have dreamed of becoming parents and truly appreciate this chance to share a little about us. We would be honored to share our lives, and all that we have, with your child! When we picture our lives as a mom and dad, we imagine family trips to explore places and cultures, fun times cheering for our favorite teams, and being involved at their school events. We welcome an open adoption and would love to have you be a part of your child’s life as they grow up. It would be great to discuss what that could look like, what you’re comfortable with, and how it could grow and become something beautiful over time.

We promise to:

  • Love this child unconditionally and provide a home full of love, laughter, and support.
  • Encourage him or her to develop their own interests and follow their dreams. We will nurture their talents and provide the opportunities or lessons needed to grow in them.
  • Teach life morals and responsibilities to help them succeed in life, have healthy connections with others, and grow up confident, self-sufficient, and hard-working.
  • Show them the beauty of this world through travel and other experiences.
  • Be honest about their adoption story, from an early age, and tell them how much you mean to us, and how their story was always rooted in love.
  • Be there for him or her always.

We’d love to talk or answer any of your questions. Call or text Lifetime at 1.800.923.6784 to connect with us.

Thoughtfully, Randell & Heather

More About Our Family

Fun Facts About Us

• Randell has run a marathon in every state, as well as in 4 countries.
• Heather loves sports and attending team practices so that she can meet players for autographs and photos together.
• We both speak English, Spanish, Swedish, and French. Randell can also speak Russian, German, and Japanese.
• We love to meet professional athletes and mascots when we attend games. Our favorite mascot is the elephant, Stomper, from the former Oakland A's baseball team.

Our Values

We believe in trust, honesty, that hard work pays off, and in keeping close friendships. Quality time with each other and our loved ones matters the most to us.

Typical Weekend with Us

• We work out at the gym or go for a run or walk in the neighborhood.
• When the weather is good, we will go on hikes and kayak rides.
• We do grocery errands, have lunch at Jersey Mike’s, and enjoy a beverage at a café.
• If any of the local sports teams have games going on, we like to attend them.

Plans for Childcare

We both have hybrid work schedules, which means we work from home 2 to 3 days a week. After we adopt, we plan to alternate our parental leave time from work, so that one of us is home with our new child full time that first year. When we do have to go to the office we will use the on-site daycare so that we’re as close as possible during work hours.

In Closing

We are so grateful to be considered as possible adoptive parents for your child. It would be good to learn more about you and your little one! We've hoped to raise a child together and look forward to growing our family through adoption. When you're ready, just ask Lifetime to set up a call or video chat with us. We'd love to hear from you!
