We enjoy being with family and attending family functions like birthday parties, special dinners, cookouts, and holidays. Our favorite thing to do is travel. We travel by ourselves and with family. We love snorkeling when we travel. We like trying new things: zip lining and having great adventures like hiking through rain forests and climbing volcanoes. When we are not traveling, we like relaxing at home watching tv and spending quality time with each other.
About Us
Our Story (told by Gena): Randy and I met at our previous workplace 14 years ago. Randy treated me kind and made me feel so special. We would go on lunch dates and take walks on the trails near the building where we worked. Once I got to know him better, I let him into my heart! After two years of dating we got married. Since then, we have been longing to start a family of our own to further share our love.
About Gena
Randy says: I love how Gena puts others before herself. I also like that she loves children, is very nurturing, loving, kind, and trustworthy. Gena is fun to be around, adventurous, and loves life.
She has worked in customer service since high school and continues to help others in her current supervising role. Some of her hobbies and interests include reading, making art, dancing, music, singing in a choir, traveling and seeing different cultures. Gena looks forward to sharing her hobbies with our child including a desire to learn different languages, family traditions, teaching them to be confident and to love their self, be resilient, and overcome any obstacle.
About Randy
Gena says: Randy is so funny and makes everyone laugh; he likes to joke a lot and is the life of the party. He is very social and can make anyone feel at ease and included. Randy works hard to provide strength and stability to his family. He loves helping others at his current job in healthcare and cares for adults with intellectual disabilities. His passion is to advocate for them to live their best life and be included in their communities.
He loves traveling and some of his favorite places he has visited are Aruba, Brazil, Italy, and Colombia. Randy also loves working out. He completed a half marathon in 2019 and is currently training to do another half marathon in 2026.
Randy looks forward to sharing family values such as hard work and perseverance with our baby/children. He hopes to show them how to focus on their goals and reach for the stars, as well as being kind and compassionate toward others.
Our Family
We have a huge extended family that includes our moms, brothers and sisters, aunts and uncles, and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
We live close to some family, but we also have a lot of family that live out of state. For the out of state family, we go visit them and they come visit us occasionally too. The church we attend is a family church and every Sunday after church we have family dinner where we laugh, talk, and eat good food together.
Gena grew up having foster siblings, and also a few adopted cousins. Extending our family love to others has always been a way of life for Gena, and Randy has easily fit into the same lifestyle. Our extended family is very supportive in our decision to adopt.
Our Home in Pennsylvania
We live in Western Pennsylvania in a beautiful 3-bedroom house with a sizable deck and a pool. Our favorite place in our home is the loft where we can relax, watch movies, and spend quality time together.
We’re in a nice quiet neighborhood in a more secluded part of town. There is even a small farm next door with many different kinds of animals. About 7 minutes away lives our brother and his family. About 15 minutes away is a metropolitan area filled with shops, restaurants, and several fun things to do. We like to say that where we live is the best of both worlds–the quiet and beautiful landscape of the countryside, but also not too far away is the hustle and bustle of city life, people, and excitement.
Our Promise
When the Lord blesses us to become adoptive parents, we will love and care for our child immensely. We will pour into them a life of love, encouragement, well-being, and success, allow room to learn who they are and what interests them, provide avenues to gain knowledge and try new things, but most of all to be a kind and compassionate human being.

More About Our Family
A Typical Weekend With Us
Our weekends start on Saturday morning with brunch. We love going out to different brunch restaurants, but we also have our favorite spots to visit. After brunch we like to relax by watching a movie. Sometimes we will go to the movie theater, but more often we will get comfortable and watch a movie at home. Sunday mornings we attend church then have dinner with our extended family.
Our Faith
We are Christians and believe in God. We believe in showing love and being kind to everyone in all walks of life. We like to help those in need and be there for friends and family.
Our Musical Interest
We enjoy all types of music and our playlists are vast. One of our favorites is old school R&B and we love to sing along in the car or in public when participating in Karaoke.
When we were little...
Gena wanted to be a designer--she wanted to design clothes, shoes, houses, and buildings.
Randy wanted to be a firefighter to help save people.
