Hello! It means so much to be considered as adoptive parents for your child. Adoption has been on our minds since we got married 7 years ago. (We even researched adoption as newlyweds.) After the surprise pregnancy with our daughter, we were told that having more children biologically would not be possible. That news felt like God was reaffirming our plans to adopt from the beginning. We’re excited about growing our family through adoption! We’re casual home-bodies who like reading books, playing games, and movie time together. We love raising our daughter and look forward to adding another child to our family fun. It would be great to learn more about you and your hopes for your child’s future!
A Little About Us
Our Story: We met in college through mutual friends during our freshmen year. We started dating in our junior year and the rest is history. Our friends say we are an opposites-attract couple who love people sincerely and bring a comforting, encouraging presence. We are easy-going and love pretty much anything we can do together.
We enjoy:
• Playing games (board games, card games, and video games—they’re all good!)
• Cabin camping
• Meeting new friends
• Exploring local parks
• Swimming
• Dinner and movie date nights
• Home projects
• Planning and hosting friends and family at our house
Meet Alaina
Reagan says: Alaina is an incredible friend and dedicated wife and mom who is always learning more about the phase of life we’re in, whether it’s about how to be better parents or how to cut hair at home. She’s the most prepared mom I know! Alaina cares so deeply about us and wants to provide everything she possibly can for us. She makes people feel seen and important. People open up to her easily, but even more amazing is that she remembers what people tell her, prays for them, and reaches out to check on them.
Alaina’s interests:
• Arts and crafts
• Paddle boarding
• Playing the guitar
• Learning about and tending my houseplants
• Growing baby watermelons
Meet Reagan
Alaina says: Reagan is calm and patient. I love that he has a gentle spirit that truly wants to bring peace wherever he goes. My husband is such an encouraging father too, always building up confidence in the children around us, helping them try new things. Reagan is known for being dependable and he never has a harsh word to say about anyone. He loves his family and is always there for us in every way.
Reagan’s interests:
• Online games with his friends
• Books
• Watching sports (especially Sacramento Kings basketball)
• Math and spreadsheets (he uses them to keep track of family goals)
Family Life
Our daughter, Aria, is 4 years old. She’s curious and remembers details about things she’s into or the people she loves. Aria loves mentoring her little cousins and trying to keep up with her older ones. We have talked about our hopes to adopt and she is very excited to be a big sister.
Our extended family is part of our everyday life. Reagan’s family and Alaina’s parents are local and we see them often. Alaina’s siblings live out of state, though we communicate with them all the time. We all love planning trips to visit each other, and stay in touch with FaceTime and calls between trips. When we’re with the local family, the kids run around and play while the adults gather and talk. Aria and her cousins enjoy the grandkid play dates at their grandparents’ house often.
Our Home in Idaho
We like living here in the middle of agricultural areas with the attractions of nearby cities. There are many parks with walking paths, jungle gyms, and splash pads where we love to meet up with family or friends. Our neighborhood pool is a regular fun spot for us. We also enjoy going to the corn mazes and markets that support our local farmers.
Our home has 2 stories with 6 bedrooms and a large grassy yard and shaded patio. We’re always in the middle of different projects or cooking things, so there is often something on the counter being worked on. The kitchen is a sweet space in our home where a lot happens! We have a nursery that is already set up and decorated in a dusty blue with a giraffe theme, stuffed animals, and books. It’s perfect for a boy or a girl and we look forward to adding details to match our future child’s interests and personality.
From Our Hearts...
If we are the right adoptive family for your child, we promise he or she will be loved, safe, and provided with every opportunity we can offer. They will have the support and acceptance of our whole family. We believe children should be loved and connected with to learn and grow. We promise your child will have a childhood full of playing, learning, and parents who will be excited to see them become the person they are meant to be.
We will nurture this child every step of the way and help them understand how our family came together, and what you mean to us. We believe it’s important that they know their story as they grow up, so that they know the respect and care we have for you and others in their birth family. If you want an open adoption, we are happy to email or text updates and sharing photos, letters, and milestones. We’d also love to talk about what having future visits could look like. We want this child to know they are surrounded by love. We’d love to talk or answer any of your questions. Please call or text Lifetime at 1.800.923.6784.
With love, Reagan & Alaina

More About Our Family
Adoption in Our Family
Everyone has been supportive about our plans to adopt. Alaina has two cousins who were adopted; one who was adopted into her family, and the other who was placed into another family and who connected with us as an adult. It’s been helpful to have these unique perspectives as we plan to grow our family this way, especially understanding personally what it’s like to be a part of a birth family. Her cousins’ stories have helped us picture what open adoption can be like, and what we hope we could provide for our future child if his or her birth family wants to stay in touch.
What Matters to Us
We are Christians who believe every person is made in the image of God and should be treated with kindness and respect. Our church community is a big part of our life. We are both regular volunteers at church, with Alaina serving in the children’s ministry and on the worship team, and Reagan on the tech team and Board of Stewards. We are also family-first and make time for each other. Alaina has been a stay-at-home mom since we had our daughter, and we will continue that plan as our family grows. We are considering homeschooling options and local schools to have options to meet our children’s educational needs and how they would best learn and explore their interests.
Family Traditions
• Camping at a cabin with Reagan’s extended family
• Weekly meals with extended family or cousin playdates
• Alaina’s “Christmas Cookie Palooza” where whoever is in town for the holidays comes over to our house to frost as many sugar cookies as possible
Fun Facts
Reagan: I know a few magic tricks!
Alaina: I can wiggle my ears so my glasses move.
Reagan: My degree is in computer science and I work as a software engineer. I like solving problems and finding solutions and tools to help other people feel more productive.
