We are thrilled to be growing our family through adoption!  We, along with our family, friends and close-knit community, are looking forward to welcoming your sweet baby.  Our dogs, Cooper and Carly, can’t wait to have a little one running around!

We look forward to sharing life with you through photos, emails and visits if you are open to that!

About Us

We were introduced by mutual friends more than nine years ago and have now been married for eight years! Laughter and friendship really bonded us and are the glue of our relationship.  Our years together have been full of adventure and first-time experiences.

Our free time is spent fishing, camping, floating the river, having dinner with friends, cooking together, serving at our church and watching funny cat videos!  Time with friends and family is super important to us.  We also love to travel to Texas to spend time with more of Courtney’s family and childhood friends.

The desire to parent runs deep in both of us.  Adoption has been a desire since long before we knew each other.  After more than seven years of no success in conceiving naturally, we decided to follow what we believe to be God’s plan and path for our lives and pursue adoption. We have so many blessings in our life that we are ready to share with your child and look forward to raising them with love, encouragement, faith and joy!

About Scott

Scott has the most contagious laugh—especially when watching funny cat videos!  There’s nothing that makes my heart feel more at home than hearing that beautiful sound.  He is also such a loving, loyal and protective partner, and I never feel unsafe when I am with him.  His love for family and friends runs deep.

He has worked at a local lumber mill for ten years, where he runs machinery that removes bark from big pine tree logs.  His days start early and end early.  Though his job can be exhausting at times, he finds fulfillment in doing his part to help the company to succeed and enjoys encouraging his peers to improve their performance and take pride in their work.

Scott loves to fish and has been doing so since he was a small child, where he spent many days fishing with his grandfather and uncle.  His greatest joy in fishing comes from teaching children to fish.  I especially enjoy when we come across a family who has taken their kids out to fish, but clearly don’t know what they’re doing, and Scott jumps right in to help. He looks forward to teaching your child how to fish and take them on adventures, but he is also excited to teach family values, how to tie shoes and even looks forward to potty training!

I see how he interacts with our nieces, nephews, and kiddos at church, and I know that he will be such a great Dad.  My heart longs for the day that I get to watch him step into that role because I know it will truly be special.

About Courtney

Courtney is a light to those around her.  She gives grace to those who may not always deserve it and encourages those around her to do the same.  Singing and leading others in worship at church has thus far been her biggest passion in life.

She is a wonderful balance between glamour and grit.  She loves to get dolled up and go to nice dinners, but she equally loves to go play in the dirt.

Courtney is playful, yet competitive—especially when it comes to card games and fishing!  She finds joy in cooking for others, and boy can she cook a good meal. She loves her work in healthcare marketing, and as a newer manager, looks forward to growing as a leader and fostering growth in those around her.  She also serves on the City Council for our city.

In addition to sharing her love of music and the outdoors, Courtney looks forward to teaching our child to bake cookies, share fun family traditions, and help them with their math homework!

Her playful, compassionate, and loving nature will make her a wonderful mother and I can’t wait to witness that!

Our Family

Our family is so special to us and each of them are so excited about our adoption journey, ready to jump in and welcome your child with open arms.  This sweet baby will have many aunts, uncles and cousins!

Time spent with Courtney’s side of the family involves family dinners, camping trips (and fishing of course), and a ton of laughter.  When spending time with Scott’s side of the family, you can usually find us enjoying the Oregon coast, checking out the fish ladder at Bonneville Dam, or watching new movies. Both sets of our parents are anxious for another grandchild!

Our dogs, Cooper and Carly, are each unique in personality.  Cooper is Mr. Security and keeps his eye on everyone—he doesn’t like closed doors.  Carly on the other hand is always ready for a game of fetch or tug-o-war!  It’ll be fun to watch them bond with a little one!

Our Home in Oregon

Our home is perfect for a small and growing family!  We have 2 bedrooms and a bonus room, and our house is located on a private road in a quiet neighborhood at the edge of town.

The backyard is a blank slate, ready for toys and a swing set when the time comes!  We enjoy sitting by the fire watching the stars in the summer and grilling some yummy steaks or burgers.

We have started planning the nursery and are excited to put a personal touch on it after we’ve met you and your baby!

Our Commitment to You

Your child will never go without love and will never have to feel unsafe.  They will receive so much affection and encouragement as they grow, and we will teach them how to have a relationship with Jesus and grow in faith.

More than sharing our hobbies and adventures, we look forward to discovering your child’s interests and talents. Their dreams and ambitions will be encouraged and fostered.  If they want to pursue a degree, we will help them do so.  If they choose another path, we will encourage them in that as well.

Additionally, they will always know how much you love them.  We will share memories with you through pictures, emails, letters and even visits if you are comfortable with that!

We’d love to talk or answer any of your questions. Please call or text Lifetime at 1.800.923.6784.

More About Our Family

Our Special Interests

Though we don’t get to go as much as we’d like, we both really enjoy live sporting events—especially Texas Rangers baseball and Portland Trailblazers basketball. We travel to Texas to see more of Courtney’s family almost every year and we try to go to a Rangers game every time we visit.

Scott loves Fantasy Football, as it gives him a chance to be competitive with his coworkers and build brotherhood.

Our Faith

Courtney was raised in the Church of God where she was given a strong foundation of faith. She enjoyed summer church camp, girls clubs and Sunday school. Scott went to a Baptist church with his mom off and on in his younger years and returned to his faith as an adult.

We now attend our local non-denominational church where Scott serves on the greeting and safety teams and Courtney serves on the worship team. Previously, both of us served as youth group leaders at the church, where we bonded with the high school students and enjoyed getting to mentor them and be part of their faith journey.

Our church family is so supportive of our adoption story and are ready to add another member when the time comes!

Our Musical Interest

Courtney is a songbird, always singing! She really enjoys listening to throwback pop, rock, and hip-hop tunes from the early 2000’s when she was in high school. Boy bands are especially a treat! Scott is a little more singular in taste, listening almost solely to country music.

We both really enjoy listening to country music, new and old, and love going to concerts when we have the opportunity.

About Our Community

We live in a fairly small community where you always run into someone you know when running to pick up milk at the store. The beautiful thing about our community is that people are so ready and willing to give the shirt off their back to help someone in need. The sense of community is so strong here.

The larger city isn’t far off though, just a 30 minute drive North takes us to more amenities like bigger parks, movie theaters and entertainment venues.

In Closing

We are so thankful that you would take time to learn about us and get a small glimpse of who we are.

It would be a blessing to have the chance to talk with you and get to know you and your desires for your child’s upbringing.

Loving on your sweet little one, watching and guiding them as they grow and learn, will be our greatest honor.
