Hi from the Buckeye State! We are Carley and Spencer, and we met while coaching high school sports and love trying new outdoor activities together such as golf and pickle ball. We are active within our church and attend mass weekly. We both come from large families and maintain close relationships with them as we live less than 10 miles from our parents and siblings. We look forward to beginning our own family through adoption. We are grateful to be considered as adoptive parents as you make plans for your baby. We will continue to pray for you and hope to meet you soon!
About Us (As told by Carley)
Spencer and I met when I became an assistant high school softball coach and Spencer was the assistant baseball coach. As coaches for the same school, we worked together to talk about a practice and game schedule. By the end of that first season, we became great friends and eventually started dating. We have been together ever since. We are now married, own a house together, and have a very cute, three-year-old puppy. While going through some infertility, we found our calling to adopt. Spencer and I have 7 family members who were adopted! We are confident that our experience with adoption will help us provide a loving home for our family.
Together we enjoy:
- going to college baseball, football, and basketball games
- golfing/playing pickle ball
- going to trivia
- vacations on the beach
- going to church
When our baby arrives, we look forward to:
- introducing them to their cousins and other family members
- taking them to all of our events and family vacations
- having play dates with our friends’ kids and babies
About Carley
Spencer says: Carley is a family-focused person, born to be a mom. She will passionately support her family and close friends and is happiest when surrounded by those she loves. She is incredibly loyal and provides a great example of how to love.
As she has been called to be a mother, she has decided to be a stay-at-home parent and currently works to prepare our home for our growing family. This job has a unique set of challenges, but she finds joy in accomplishing both the daily tasks and the longer-term projects that arise.
In her spare time Carley enjoys:
-
- walking our dog or playing fetch with him
- golfing in her league
- watching sports
- playing bocce
- going to the movies
As a mom, Carley looks forward to sharing her sense of family and teaching our child all that it takes to be successful. She will be our baby’s daily reminder of how to love and will happily bring the baby with her in all that she does each day. She will show our baby from an early age the importance of spending time with those you love.
About Spencer
Carley says: Spencer is a natural provider and role model. He lives for taking care of those he loves and making sure he can provide everything possible to keep his family happy. Spencer is a patient and giving person and can always make you laugh.
For work, Spencer is a mechanical engineer and a corporate officer. He is incredibly smart and the company problem solver. Spencer loves working for this company as his boss stresses the importance of a work life balance and prioritizing family. Additionally, Spencer is an assistant baseball coach for a high school and summer baseball team. Spencer loves dedicating his time to the players that go the extra mile and need his help.
Spencer’s Hobbies include:
- coaching baseball
- golfing and playing pickle
- watching sports
- a monthly trivia game
- spending time with friends and family
Spencer looks forward to teaching and sharing his love for sports and having an active lifestyle with his children. Spencer can’t wait for every game of catch, race, and shooting hoops that is to come with our kids. He looks forward to our child going to practices and sitting in the dugout with the high schoolers he coaches. Spencer will be the reason our children will belly laugh every day, respect their family, and trust in God.
Our Family
Spencer is the second oldest of six children. His siblings and parents have homes less than 10 miles from our house. We often meet at his parents’ house to hang out on weekends and make efforts to show up for each other’s sporting events during the week. Carley is the oldest of three children. Her siblings and parents live within three miles of our house. We see Carley’s family regularly, often spending time together at her parents’ house on weekends for movie nights, baseball games, and pool days. Our family is very excited about our plans to adopt and are very involved in helping and supporting us through the adoption process.
The biggest tradition we look forward to sharing with our child on Spencer’s side of the family is the summer family vacation to Florida. We have over 40 family members who all rent condos and spend a week together on the beach. Carley’s family also takes a family vacation every year with her parents, siblings, and their spouses. While it isn’t always to the same place, we look forward to continuing this tradition of experiencing new places and cultures around the world every year.
Our Home In Ohio
We live in a three-bedroom ranch house on a third of an acre in a small suburb. Our house is on a quiet street in a small neighborhood that has annual block parties. We live in a great school district and within walking distance of a playground, library, and a local ice-cream shop.
Our Promise
We promise to love your baby unconditionally, be their number one supporters in everything they do, and to defend them passionately. We promise that your child will grow up surrounded by cousins and extended family who will match our unwavering love and support. We promise to provide every opportunity for academic success. We live in an amazing public school district and have access to private schooling, which ensures we can find the ideal fit for our child’s individual needs. When parenting, our goal is for our child to grow up knowing they can always talk to us about any problems they may have. We hope to be good examples of expectations on how to treat people and go about life. We plan on being available and approachable to support our child through decisions and problems they face. We will emphasize the importance of God and strong family values within our home and with extended family. We will put value in honesty, loyalty, kindness, respect and honoring commitments. We look forward most to simply becoming parents and beginning our family and all the little joys that will come with it.
Finally, we hope you know that you will become an extended part of our family and our story. Your child will grow up knowing every moment of their entire life was filled with love from you and from us. We hope to create a relationship with you where you can receive updates about your baby in whatever capacity the three of us find agreeable. We are open to potential meet ups and various forms of communication, if you are comfortable.
We’d love to talk or answer any of your questions. Please call or text Lifetime at 1.800.923.6784.
