We are Tricia and Steve from Northern California, just a couple of coaches trying to put our team together. Our time is spent working with kids, whether at church, on the pool deck, baseball diamond, or in our backyard with our beautiful sons and daughter.

We have tremendous respect for you and what you’re about to embark upon. We hope by looking through our photos and reading about our lives you can clearly envision who we are, our love for each other, the parents we aspire to be, and our wonderful family who are as excited as we are to welcome a baby to the family.

Our Story

A mutual high school friend tried to get us together for months. She knew that Tricia would get a kick out of Steve’s quick humor and that Steve would fall in love with Tricia’s fun-loving nature. Over roasted smores with a group of friends in Tricia’s parents’ backyard, we finally connected.

Four years later, on the eve of college graduation, Steve celebrated the only way that made sense to him. He popped the question at a beautiful restaurant surrounded by vineyards. Tricia was so anxious to share the news that we didn’t stay for dinner. We were married in 2009, and from the beginning we were eager to start a family. The trials of infertility have been difficult, but they have strengthened our love and faith in each other as well as our relationship with God.

14 years later we still love spending time near our backyard firepit either just the two of us or watching the kids ride their bikes or jump on the trampoline.

A Little About Steve

I enjoy listening to music, working out, and camping, but at my core, I’m a coach. It started on the baseball field training high schoolers to pitch, then at work finding the opportunity to mentor coworkers and help them with career development, and now I’m blessed that my sons share my love for baseball, and I’ve been able to coach their teams. I enjoy my job, have a great group of reliable friends, but I am most happy at home with my wife and kids. Whether we are being goofy and listening to music, pursuing our shared love for snacks, or playing baseball in the backyard, I love spending time with my family.

What Tricia Loves about Steve:

Steve is hilarious, generous, and always entertaining! Steve’s generosity, kindness, and compassion is unmatched. He is the first of our friends to reach for the bill and will be the first one there for anyone who needs help moving. Even before we started dating it struck me that Steve would be a great father because he is the perfect combination of silly and responsible. And seeing him being goofy with our kids by chasing them around the house, playing catch, and wrestling fills me with so much joy! We are extremely lucky to have Steve!

A Little About Tricia

Before we were blessed with our first son, I taught high school math for 10 years, enjoyed expanding Bible camps at our parish, coached high school swimming and water polo, and loved exploring new cities and restaurants with Steve on the weekends. Trading in my briefcase for a diaper bag is a dream come true for both Steve and me. Now as a stay-at-home mom, I spend my days caring for the kids. The teacher in me enjoys researching and designing educational activities for our kids about science and the ABCs. I’m frequently planning our next camping trip or get-together with cousins.

What Steve loves about Tricia:

Tricia is my best friend and better half. I found a girl who will eat Domino’s Pizza with me, loves to hear me ramble on about sports, and challenges me to be my best. Her smile is magnetic, and her laugh is infectious. Those moments when I tell a stupid joke and the only thing stopping the sound of crickets is that laugh, a constant reminder of how lucky I am. Tricia is a phenomenal Mom. When I get home from work, I am welcomed by the site of Tricia playing catch or Legos with the kids. My favorite is catching them sitting under a blanket as she reads to them. She is the absolute best!

Our Kids & Extended Family

In 2016 we adopted our son, Harrison, and instantly our lives were filled with more joy than we thought possible. Tricia’s grandfather used to say that Harrison will have an abundance of confidence because he never saw a baby more adored by his parents and extended family. Two years later we adopted our son, Jordan. Jordan quickly became the guardian of his younger cousins, finding them their favorite toys and cheering them up if they were sad. It was no wonder when we adopted our daughter, Lanie, in 2020 that he instantly took to the role of big brother. Lanie is a strong and driven cuddle bug and the three kids have so much fun together dancing, riding bikes, and imaginary play in their playroom.

Steve and I often reflect on our early days of longing and thank God for crafting our beautiful family the way He has.

We have a large extended family. Tricia has 6 siblings and Steve has 4; the furthest is less than a 2-hour drive. We have been blessed with 5 nephews and 6 nieces and our parents are attentive and adoring grandparents.

Our Home in California

In 2019, we bought our dream home! The house is located in Northern California, and in the same city we both grew up in. Our neighborhood is great, filled with nice, friendly families. There are several families with young kids that our kids enjoy playing with. Our unique, East Bay city features a rich vibrant culture, great schools, an award-winning downtown, and a beautiful countryside. There is a beautiful park down the street with giant soccer fields and a playground. During the spring and summer, we walk the creek-side trail to farmers’ markets in our beautiful downtown. Both of our parents live a short 10 minutes away; they could not be more helpful, supportive, and excited to be grandparents. We have a handful of cousins in town, as well.

Our Promise

We will love your child. They will be enveloped in a loving, fun, Christian home. They will have the most wonderful brothers and sister who are eager to love another baby. We will share their adoption story with your child, and they will know the decisions you made were out of love. We have open adoptions with all three of our kids’ birthparents and grandparents. That mostly involves text messages and lots of photos with occasional visits. We are open to whatever you are comfortable with.

We’d love to talk or answer any of your questions. Please call or text Lifetime at 1.800.923.6784.

Camping

We bought a motorhome a few years ago and have enjoyed about 10 trips each year ever since. The kids' favorite things to do while camping is swimming, climbing trees, fishing, and roasting marshmallows. Steve and Tricia love to sit by the lake or oceanside relaxing, talking, and watching the kids play. The beach is only an hour drive, so frequently our friends or family will meet us for the day. These visits make camping extra special.

Our Hopes

Our hope is for our children to feel safe and loved at home, have a relationship with God, and understand the importance of faith and family. As parents we will encourage and guide our children to reach their fullest potential in education while balancing other important activities like church, family life, sports, the arts, friends, and other talents they have or activities they are interested in pursuing. We also have a great appreciation for unscheduled time for relaxation and play.

We most look forward to camping, swimming, Disneyland, baseball, hugs, kisses, cookies, cousins, grandparents, love, and laughs.

In Closing

We are so excited to have the opportunity to expand our family. If we are given the privilege to adopt your baby, always know we will unconditionally love and cherish your child and they will always know their adoption story. We would welcome you and your family to stay in contact. Thank you again for taking the time to read our story.

We wish you all the best in everything you do!
