Tim & Amanda

Hi! We love finding the fun in anything we do. We like traveling to different places around the world or across the U.S., but our favorite place to be is at home with our dogs and chickens. It’s been our greatest dream to become parents and we know adoption is where our story has been taking us all along. We get excited thinking about the life we’ll get to share with a child, spending weekends with family, exploring the mountains and lake, and getting into the things our child is into as they grow up.

It means a lot to be considered as adoptive parents for your little one. We would love to get to know you both!

About Us

Our Story: We met through a mutual friend and became best friends pretty quickly. A few months later we started dating and now we have a happy marriage built on that same friendship we had in the beginning. We’ve always wanted to raise a family together and have not been able to have a child biologically. We strongly believe that we’re meant to grow our family through adoption. We’re ready and excited to share our lives as first-time parents!

We enjoy anything we do together, such as:
• DIY projects around the house or property
• Yardwork, gardening, and tending the chickens
• Weekend shopping trips to Costco or Home Depot
• Attending events at our church
• Hiking
• Camping
• Traveling
• Being involved in our church (we just took our first mission trip too!)

More About Amanda

Tim says: Amanda is honest, loyal, dedicated, and determined. She’s my biggest cheerleader! Amanda creates a sense of comfort and stability in our home and to those around her. She has a heart for showing up and being helpful, whether it’s for friends or family or the people she serves at church. Amanda has a gentle, fun, encouraging spirit that will make her the best mom. I know she looks forward to becoming a stay at home mom too. I can’t wait to raise a family with her!

Amanda likes:
• Exercising
• Knitting scarves and making macrame plant hangers or coasters
• Watching old chick-flicks
• Tending her houseplants
• Cooking (especially her special chicken taco soup)
• Reading
• Teaching the kids at VBS in the summer and helping to lead the women’s ministry at our church

More About Tim

Amanda says: Tim is kind, loving, gracious, and invested in those he cares about. He easily clicks with almost everyone he meets! Tim is a generous and hard working provider too. As a dad, I know Tim will be loving, patient, and caring. He’ll be the dad who wants to teach our child about everything he knows, and to learn about our child’s interests so he can get involved. Tim will bring plenty of fun and imagination to being a dad.

Tim likes:
• Working in the yard
• Building things for the house
• Playing instruments (he can play trombone, drums, & guitar)
• Video games
• Manning the barbecue
• Serving on the security team at church

Our Home in Nevada

Our home is a 4-bedroom ranch style house on 1 acre. We love our mountain views here! Just a few miles away is a lake where we can see birds, pelicans, geese, antelope, and wild horses. We love having a big property and it’s been fun working on home improvement projects together. Our dogs get plenty of space to run, we have hiking trails close to our house, and there’s a quiet family room separate from the rest of the house (it’s a great spot for reading or game night!). Out back we have a chicken coop and enjoy fresh eggs all the time. We have a room in mind that will become our future baby’s nursery, and have already gotten some things to prepare it. We look forward to toys in the living room, bath time splash fun, homemade snacks, and bedtime stories in this home one day.

Our Pets: We have 3 friendly dogs, each with their own unique personalities. Moses is our Shih Tzu, Lady is our Husky-Heeler mix, and Winnie is our Golden-Doodle. We love to take our dogs with us to the lake, on trails, or for walks in our rural neighborhood. They are each very sweet and great with kids (our nieces and nephews adore them!).

Our Family

We come from big, diverse families and we spend a lot of time together. We each have three siblings and between us we have 14 nephews and nieces. We have a lot of family and friends just an hour away in our home town in northern California. It’s fun to take turns vising each other and we all stay in touch regularly. We love having Amanda’s sister’s family and Tim’s brother’s family living near us in Nevada as well.

Amanda’s parents live in the same house she grew up in, on a small farm with cows, chickens, ducks, and honeybees. They love to host all the family events! It’s fun to imagine taking our child back home to the grandparents’ farm to feed the animals and explore the property together. Everyone has been happy about our hopes to adopt and they will be excited to welcome the child we adopt.
