Birth Parents Seeking Families
Page last updated on
We hear from pregnant women and birth parents, every day, who are looking for adoptive parents for their child and are curious about other kids for adoption. Many do not know what modern adoption can look like for them. For instance, a lot of women wonder if adoption is even possible because they are:
- Already at the hospital delivering,
- They’ve used drugs, have a legal situation with the father,
- Believe their child is too old
Our coordinators take time to answer each inquiry. Lifetime’s goal is to meet people where they are and help them with what they need to move to the next step, even if it isn’t adoption.
As prospective adoptive parents begin the adoption process, they often have an idea of what birth parents may be like. For example, they may believe that most birth parents are teenagers or are abusing substances. Certainly, there are some of both, but neither describes “most” parents who place a child for adoption or their adoption situations. Learning about available adoption situations, the kids for adoption, and what birth parents are seeking will help you discover what they are looking for in adoptive parents.
The thing that all birth parents who make an adoption plan for their child have in common is love. They care deeply about their child, so much so that they will go through grief and loss so that their child will have a better life than they can provide at this time.
The other thing that most of them want today is ongoing communication to know how their child is doing. This can include updates via mail, email, text messaging, video chat, and visits.
Are You Hopeful Adoptive Parents Looking for Adoption Situations?
An important part of Lifetime’s program is that adoptive parents learn and understand the heart of a birth mother. As hopeful adoptive parents looking for birth moms and kids for adoption, you need to be ready to embrace not only the baby or child but also the birth mother, and sometimes the birth father, as a vital part of their child’s story.
Seeing the adoption triad as the “family of adoption” is truly the best way to navigate the journey of adoptive parents. So, as you begin your search for adoption situations, it’s good to keep that in mind.
Below, please find some of the available adoption situations we have recently received to let you see some of the prospective birth parents who we are actively working with.
If you are Lifetime adoptive parents looking for birth parents, you have been presented to available adoption situations that meet your preferences, and whom you in turn match what the birth parents are seeking. If you would like to be presented to additional birth parents seeking adoptive parents, please speak with your coordinator about opening your adoption preferences.
