The world of adoption is huge. It includes thousands upon thousands of children that have been given the opportunity to grow up in stable families where they can become confident, healthy adults.
It includes loving birth mothers that made a selfless choice to place their child’s needs above their own. And it includes adoptive parents that opened their hearts to a child to provide the type of life that their birth mother wanted for them.
Everyone who is touched by adoption has a story to tell. Whether it’s about a birth mother’s journey or a family’s experience in adopting children, each experience is unique because each child and each family is unique. But the experiences are similar because the story of adoption has one thing that binds them all together: love.
Anyone considering adoption — both birth mothers and adoptive parents — can find value and support in seeing other adoption stories. And adoption and social media can come together to help find these stories.
Here we have compiled a few of our favorite social media influencers, as well as families and individuals that regularly post content online. We suggest heading to your favorite social media outlets to find adoption and social media influencers. Look for Instagram posts, an adoptive agency’s social media feed (or videos on their channel at YouTube), or other people on social media, including networks such as the Family Channel.
Taking some time to sit and listen to people who have walked some of the same paths that you may be on can give you the courage and hope you need when things may feel overwhelming.
