Heather Featherston Vice President Lifetime Adoption

About Heather

Heather Featherston serves as Vice President of Lifetime Adoption and has been with us since 2002. A recognized adoption speaker and adoption specialist, Heather brings more than 20 years of experience helping women with unexpected pregnancies in understanding their choices in modern adoption. She is also gifted in guiding adoptive families through the unique journey of adoption after experiencing infertility.

Heather holds an MBA and combines her leadership experience with a deep personal commitment to adoption education. She is the co-author of Called to Adoption, co-host of the Let’s Talk Adoption podcast, and a frequent speaker at conferences, clinics, and professional trainings nationwide.

Her work is grounded in compassion, honesty, and a belief that adoption should always be shared as an option in a way that respects and empowers women to make an educated decision about their pregnancy. Clients often describe Heather as approachable, steady, and encouraging, someone who sees each adoption story as uniquely important.

Faith and Adoption

Heather often speaks about the role of faith in adoption, describing it as a place where God’s hand is clearly at work. She shares that while it’s easy to want to control outcomes, the greater blessing is often seen in trusting God’s plan. One of her favorite themes is surrender, learning to let go of expectations and open our hands to receive what God has for us. This perspective also shapes Heather’s leadership at Lifetime Adoption, where she encourages women, adoptive families, and professionals to approach modern adoption with openness, hope, and trust.

Her Approach

Heather’s leadership style at Lifetime mirrors her speaking style: warm, approachable, and practical. She blends real-life adoption stories with professional expertise and practical tools. Whether she is speaking to a national audience or talking with a family one-on-one, Heather’s goal is the same: to ensure adoption is presented accurately, compassionately, and with hope.

Why Informed Pregnancy Decisions Matter

Too often, adoption is misunderstood. Women today still think it is the same as foster care or believe that choosing adoption means “giving up.” Heather works to dispel those myths and to show that modern adoption is built on respect, openness, and choice.

Her greatest passion is ensuring that every woman making a pregnancy decision understands adoption as one of her real and modern options, thereby knowing enough to make an informed decision.

“Adoption is not goodbye forever,” Heather explains. “Yet too many women today are making decisions about their pregnancies without ever having modern adoption clearly explained to them. A woman cannot truly make an informed choice if she hasn’t been given the information and support she deserves.”
