Yes. We can work with you in finding a loving adoptive family that will legally adopt your children. It is important to realize that adoption is permanent and legally binding. Adoption is not foster care or temporary care. You can still receive updates and photos throughout their lives if you wish.

Lifetime is committed to helping every woman who is considering adoption, including those who do not have U.S. citizenship. If you are expecting and undocumented, you have just as much right as any other mother to choose adoption for your baby in the United States. So long as your child is born in the US, you can choose a loving, supportive adoptive family for them, despite your own citizenship status. Making an adoption plan for your baby without U.S. citizenship is a safe and secure process, and you do not need a sponsor.

Adoption allows you to provide a better life for your child in the United States, full of opportunity. Making an adoption plan can prevent the government from becoming involved through Child Protective Services. With adoption, you have a say in what happens to your baby and you can keep in touch with the parents!

Adoption is a completely legal process. There is no cost for you to choose adoption for your baby, and the adoptive parents you have chosen can help with the financial cost of adoption by paying for legal fees.

We will never release your information to immigration or government authorities without your consent. Lifetime is committed to keeping every aspect of your adoption and your adoption paperwork confidential. While your Adoption Coordinator will ask for your citizenship status as she gathers your social and medical history, the information you share will never be released outside of our agency except to the private legal professionals who will help complete the adoption.

Your citizenship status will not affect the amount of hopeful adoptive couples willing to adopt your child. Plus, you will have just as much right to post-adoption contact with them and your child as any American citizen or documented immigrant.

Please understand, if you are currently outside the United States, in Mexico or another country, we cannot help with crossing the border, border patrol, ICE (Immigration and Customs Enforcement) or the Department of Homeland Security.
