Hello! Thank you for taking the time to learn a little bit about us. We are the parents of two daughters and look forward to growing our family through an open adoption. Because of infertility, we are unable to have any more children of our own, but have the love and stability to give to another child. We bought our home with the intent of having more children and cannot wait to make this a reality.
We feel peace and clarity in our decision to grow our family through adoption. We have already started praying for the baby we will be blessed to raise, as well as the mother who we will walk alongside us in this journey to expand our family.
About Us
We have been together for over five years and are a blended family that is blessed to have two daughters. We dream of expanding our family and were led to adoption after infertility left us unable to have any more biological children. We know that we still have the love to give another child. Because we have always known we wanted to grow our family, we bought a home that would allow us the space to expand.
We love traveling, both big and small adventures, and enjoy going to the mountains and the beach. Because we are both teachers, we enjoy the time we have together in the summer and other breaks to travel and make memories as a family. This might be anything from taking day trips to the zoo, new parks, or spending the days in the water. We enjoy family movie nights and themed game nights with our girls. Some of our favorite date night locations are axe throwing, bowling, and being creative by painting pottery or making wood signs. We enjoy traveling to tropical locations and amusement parks with our daughters. When our baby arrives, we cannot wait to share these traditions and create memories with him/her. We are already planning to visit family in Oregon, Florida, and Arizona after he/she joins our family.
Get to Know Megan
About Megan, according to Michael… Megan is one of the most patient and loving people I have ever met, both with people and animals. Whenever we go for a walk, Megan can’t help but become friends with every dog we see. This loving nature of hers is really apparent as she teaches 3rd grade, making her one of the most beloved teachers on campus. She is incredibly organized and loves to plan family adventures, encouraging us all to try new experiences and visit new places. When our new little one arrives, she is excited to plan and experience all the “firsts” with them. Megan is also very involved with our church and our church community, having many good friends amongst the congregation. Her faith is very important to her and helps mold her into the wonderful person she is.
What I love about Megan is her absolutely loving nature and how she puts others before herself. This nature of hers has kept her close to family and extensive network of friends that encourages a large support system. She is absolutely dedicated to our children, wanting them to experience all the wonders and joys of life. Generally, most of the traveling we do as a family starts with Megan saying, “I think the girls would have fun….” and it takes off from there to become a wonderful adventure.
Five Fast Facts about Megan:
- 1. She loves to sing! In the car, the kitchen, at bedtime, anywhere.
- 2. She loves baking, especially with the girls.
- 3. She comes from a very big family, with lots of sisters, a brother, and many nieces and nephews!
- 4. She loves birthdays, holidays and celebrations. Everything from planning parties to capturing traditions…it is important to her that everyone creates memories.
- 5. We can’t go anywhere without her making friends with a random dog or cat.
All About Michael
About Michael, according to Megan…He is silly, loving, caring, and devoted to our entire family. During his free time, he can often be found doing projects around the house such as building, painting, and yard work. It is important to him to stay active and to be outside whenever he is able. He has an amazing ability to do tasks with his hands such as puzzles, painting, and building. This shows his patience, which also shines in his interactions as a father. For work, he is a middle school math teacher at a nearby school. He is able to use his gift of working with children and love for math in his job. With his career choice, his love of learning is evident.
What I love about Michael is his devotion as a husband and a father. There is no doubt that his calmness balances me and keeps us all grounded. When we have had to walk through difficult times, Michael was a constant strength and support. He loves being a father and spending time with both of our daughters. He knows the importance of creating memories and traditions. He comes from a very close family and this is a large part of who he is now. I know that when we welcome a new child into our home that he will continue to share his strengths, gifts, and love of family with him/her.
Five Fast Facts about Michael:
- 1. He loves the water. If given the chance, he would spend the whole day in the water. Going to the beach is one of his favorite family activities.
- 2. He is a grill master and loves to spend summer evenings making delicious meals for our family.
- 3. He enjoys being outside and going on adventures such as hitting up a new walking trail, driving to the mountains, and soaking up the sun whenever possible.
- 4. Summer is his favorite season. He loves the heat.
- 5. Michael is a wonderful dad who is not afraid to be silly. Our daughters love spending time with him because that time is quality and never dull. He will often burst out in songs or silly voices and is not afraid to get his hands messy. He cannot wait to make memories with our next child, and I know they will love him just the same.
Meet Our Daughters
We have two fun, active, and silly daughters. We enjoy spending every weekend creating memories with them. Being together and creating memories as they grow up is very important to us. We have been able to travel together to nearby states, Cancun, and Disneyland! Being outside is where they both love to be, and they are always ready for our next adventure.
Kathryn is a smart, curious, and social 10-year-old and loves being a big sister. She loves school, ballet, reading, and being creative. Often times, she can be found reading to her little sister or riding her bike or roller skates in the yard. Kathryn took on her role as big sister naturally and cannot wait to become a big sister again.
Ellie (Elizabeth) is two years old and always on the go. You can always find her carrying a baby doll around, and she loves being outside in her motorized car or on her tricycle. She has a colorful and caring personality. Ellie is full of life and has so much love to give. She can always be found climbing, dancing, and running around.
Both girls are very excited about being big sisters and cannot wait to help love and take care of a new baby.
Our Home in California
We call a central California suburban city, home. We live in a 4-bedroom home that is in a quiet, well-established neighborhood. We bought this home because it felt warm and inviting as soon as we waked in. It has space for our family to spread out and play both inside and outside. We have a fenced backyard and space to play in the driveway and front yard, too. Our home is located by shopping, schools, multiple parks, walking trails, and many other family-friendly activities. The community we live in is close to the beach, mountains, cities, and even many amusement parks and children’s museums. We are able to walk to three parks and are in between two walking trails. We frequently spend time around the campfire in the backyard and drawing with chalk or playing with bubbles in the driveway.
Each of our daughters has their own room and our home has a bedroom that will be turned into a nursery for our next child. The nursery is located right next to the main bedroom and will be ready to welcome a baby soon. Our house is a fun, happy, safe home ready to welcome a new child. We have made many memories in our home and cannot wait for many more years of holidays, traditions, laughter, and love together in this home.
Our Promise to You
Thank you for taking time to get to know us a little bit more. Our promise to you is to promise a home full of stability, happiness, and love for all of our children. We cannot wait to grow our traditions and start new ones. Our future child will be part of a family that eats meals together, prays together, and enjoys being together. The simple moments are as important as the big moments.
We cannot wait to share our values of faith with your child, as we strive to do with our daughters. Also, education is important and we will always encourage all of our children to continue learning and growing into the best version of themselves. We know this starts at home by reading, singing, and talking, which is an important part of our daily lives.
After we adopt, we will encourage an open relationship in a way that respects the wishes of you, the birth parent, and in a way that helps our child grow and develop. We want to be able to fully answer the questions they have about their journey to be part of our family, and for them to always know their adoption story. We promise to love your child as our own and give them the very best of us. We are already praying for you and your baby.
We’d love to talk or answer any of your questions. Please call or text Lifetime at 1.800.923.6784.

More About Our Family
Our Pets
We have two dogs and one cat. Our dogs are a 14-year-old Chihuahua, Toby, a one-year-old, German Shepherd mix, Finn, and our cat Mylie who is an older, black cat. Toby is a super friendly, lazy, couch potato who loves nothing more than a soft bed or a warm lap. Finn is a clumsy, playful dog who loves his people and chew toys. Both dogs love everyone they meet and are wonderful with our daughters. Mylie prefers to observe more than engage. She is comfortable with her people, but is a typical cat. Our pets are an important and fun part of our family.
Our Extended Family
We are lucky to be surrounded by family, which includes grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins on both sides. Including these family members on holidays, weekend dinners, and celebrations is not only important, but what is expected with our family. Our large, extended family is supportive of our journey to adopt and is eager to welcome a new member into the family. We know that if we ever have a need, there is a support system to help with our children. We enjoy time with nieces and nephews and the girls love time with cousins. Our children are blessed to have such a large, loving family to grow and create memories with.
About Our Faith
We make it a point to pray together before meals and at bedtime. This is something we have found comfort in during difficult times and has become something we look forward to doing together. Our faith has helped us grow closer and is something we have been able to lean on in challenging times. Life is not easy or perfect, but our faith helps us make it through, stronger. We attend a not-too-big, not-too-small, Christian church that is a perfect fit for our family. We are able to attend weekly church and are thankful for the wonderful children's program available to help support our children as they grow.
Family Wish List
1. Going on a cruise to the Bahamas is on our plans in the next few years.
2. Someday we cannot wait to travel as a family to Europe. Some of the places we dream of seeing are Rome, Ireland, Scotland, and Greece.
3. We love Disneyland, but want to go to Disney World also! We are starting to think about a trip to Florida to visit family and making a point to go to Disney World.
4. Plans are in the works for an extended camping trip with the kids and our dogs. We are close to many beautiful places to camp and cannot wait to do this as a family.
5. Next time we visit family in Arizona, we hope to take a road trip to the Grand Canyon.
