Adoption Stories Then and Now – Dan and Hanna

dan-hanna-then-now.jpgToday, Lifetime Adoption is excited to be able to share another couple’s successful adoption story in our blog series “Then and Now.

We’re going to share Colorado adoptive couple Dan and Hanna’s heartwarming story today!

As they started their adoption journey with Lifetime, they shared, Adoption is something that we have always planned for ourselves.

When we learned about our infertility, it wasn’t a question of what to do; it was how we get things in place for adoption!”

dan-hanna-profile-2.pngIn their adoption profile, Dan and Hanna wrote, We are an active, outdoorsy, Christian couple. We have a large support group and family close by who we spend a lot of time with. We are so excited to share our love and support with your child. We are open to a continuous relationship with you after the adoption. As hopeful first-time parents, we are grateful for you considering us for your child!

We have known each other for ten years, and have been married for seven. We believe in hard work, whether it is our jobs, house, or our relationship.
Colorado is an amazing place to live. In the spring and summer, you’ll find us at the pool, BBQing, gardening, hiking, camping, or just enjoying sitting on our patio. During the fall, we like to drive into the mountains to see all the trees changing colors. Winter consists of snowboarding, cross country skiing, snowshoeing and snowball fights with our neighbors. We can’t wait to share these experiences with a child along with the new ones we’ll create with them!”

They emailed Tiffany, the Adoption Coordinator who handled their successful adoption:

Adoption gets tricky, there’s planning, and waiting, and joy, and grief. Things don’t usually unfold the way you pictured, but it unfolds to something so much better.

Lifetime was by our sides through the whole journey. We couldn’t have done it without the support we received. We’ve finalized our adoption, but that doesn’t end our journey with Lifetime. We know they’ll be there for years to come, to help with and support our journey, and who knows… maybe a sibling?”
