“The Wait Was So Worth It!”

“We’re Thrilled to Adopt a Baby Girl!”

We had the pleasure of a visit from Oklahoma adoptive couple Jeremiah and Tammy last week! They brought their newly-adopted baby girl Ellie Rose with them, and we were excited to hear their adoption story.

jeremiah tammy and profile.jpg“We wanted to stop by and share our blessing. We’re excited to get to share Ellie Rose with the world!” adoptive father Jeremiah says, beaming. His wife Tammy shared that the hospital their birth mother delivered at was great. The hospital staff even provided them with a room to stay at while they were there. “We got time with the birth mother, and it was really nice to meet with her!” Tammy shares.

When asked to describe their overall experience, Tammy shared that it was an emotional rollercoaster and the adoption wait was the hardest part. What helped was praying and reading devotionals to keep the faith that adoption would happen for them. Also, the adoption webinars that Lifetime hosts really helped them, in that they cover a lot of information about domestic infant adoption. It helped them to hear that other adoptive couples faced the same challenges that they did, and there was support available from Lifetime.

Jeremiah says, “I think that through the wait, God really had a plan for us. The way that everything fell together made us feel like God wanted it this way.” When that baby comes, it changes everything and you realize why you waited. It was for the baby that was a perfect fit for your family!

Here’s a quick video of Jeremiah and Tammy sharing their adoption experience, and providing encouragement to couples who are in the waiting phase of their adoption journey right now:
