You may want a family from Missouri or from another state. You also choose what kind of contact you want in the future. It’s important to know that adoption isn’t only for newborns. If parenting a toddler or older child is a struggle that is not healthy for you or your child, Lifetime coordinators can help you create an adoption plan. They will recommend a professional counselor at no cost to you who will create a transition plan for you, your child, and the adoptive family. She will also create a post-adoption contact agreement that is healthy for the entire adoption triad.
You will also need a hospital plan if you are pregnant and placing your baby for adoption. Your Lifetime coordinator will help you decide who will be in the delivery room, who will hold the baby first, and other details. She will make sure the hospital staff and adoptive family are aware of your wishes. You will have your own legal representation at no cost to you. Your attorney will make sure that you are aware of your legal rights and will take care of all the legal issues.
