We love this open adoption quote we found on Open Adoption Open Heart’s Facebook page:

I was adopted graphic

It’s a great reminder, particularly in open adoption, that a child has loving parents on both sides of his adoption…”from loving arms to loving arms.” One of the stereotypes that makes it hard for people to understand adoption is that a child was “unwanted” by his birth mother. IN TRUTH it’s most often a fact to say that a child placed for adoption is already loved, cherished, and wanted by his birth mother before the adoption happens. This truth is often what drives her decision to provide for him by choosing adoptive parents who can give him what she may feel unable to offer at the time.
