When you’re considering adoption for your baby, you have the chance to personally connect with families who are hoping to adopt. This meaningful part of the adoption process puts you in the driver’s seat, giving you the space to learn and ask questions before any decisions are made. Through open, heartfelt conversations with hopeful adoptive parents, you can ask whatever is on your mind: their values, how they spend their days, and what kind of home they’d create for a child. It’s your opportunity to get a real, genuine feel for who they are: their family life, their traditions, what brings them joy, and what they hold closest to their hearts.
I asked Josh and Megan some fun questions that you won’t find in their adoption profile, and I learned that they are grounded in their Catholic faith and trust deeply in family and togetherness. With Megan’s creative, nurturing spirit as a green-thumbed gardener and problem-solver and Josh’s quick-witted, sports-loving energy and steady patience, they bring a beautiful balance of warmth and adventure to everything they do, and they’re ready to pour all of it into raising a child.
1. What’s your favorite fast food chain? What do you usually order?
Megan: I’ll always pick Chipotle. I order a salad with chicken, rice, beans, sour cream, and cheese. You can’t forget the salad dressing. It’s the best part!
Josh: I love sub sandwiches, and my go-to is Jersey Mike’s. My order is turkey and provolone with lettuce, pickles, mayo, spices, and bacon. I don’t opt for Mike’s way because it is too messy. The friendly staff always makes my day better.
2. What is your favorite TV show or series?
We enjoy reality competition shows, and our favorite is The Amazing Race. Megan has watched it since the very beginning and introduced Josh to it. We enjoy watching the contestants travel all over the world because we love to travel ourselves. The show has inspired us to add several destinations to our bucket list and learn more about the cultures that make each place unique. As the contestants compete, we like to play along and discuss which of us would compete in which competition if we were on the show.

3. What was your first job? Did you like it?
Megan: My first job was delivering newspapers in my neighborhood. We had an afternoon paper, and I delivered it to about 20 houses by riding my bike from door to door. I was happy it was an afternoon route because I didn’t have to wake up early. Every now and then, if the weather was bad, my mom would give me a ride. It was a great first job that taught me responsibility while giving me a little spending money.
Josh: My first job was working in the kitchen at our local hospital, where I washed dishes, helped prepare food, and delivered meals to patients’ rooms. The hospital was right next to my high school, so I could walk over as soon as classes ended. My mom also worked at the hospital, so we were able to carpool to and from work. It was a great first job that taught me the value of hard work and responsibility, and allowed me to make friends.
4. What would a perfect day look like?
Our perfect day starts with a trip to the farmer’s market for fresh vegetables and a sweet treat. Megan grew up going almost every Saturday, so it’s a tradition that still feels special.
Then we’d grab lunch and catch a movie (popcorn is a must). If time allows, we’ll head to our favorite nearby state park for a walk and talk. We love spotting deer or wild turkeys along the trails. More than anything, our favorite days are the simple ones where we get to spend quality time together.
5. What is your favorite thing to cook or eat?
We enjoy cooking together, especially our Sunday meal prep tradition. Our go-to meal is grilled pork tenderloin and chicken with potato and onion foil packs. It’s easy to make, easy to clean up, and makes great leftovers throughout the week.
Recently, we’ve been turning the grilled chicken into chicken salad. The potato-and-onion foil pack recipe was handed down from Megan’s dad, and it’s one of our favorites. Josh has been expanding his grilling skills and recently tried zucchini for the first time. It was a success and will be added to the rotation.
