Question: I’ve been thinking about placing my baby for adoption…what if I change my mind and decide I want to raise my child myself?

Answer: Before all adoption forms are signed, you may change your mind. It’s recommended that you make this decision sooner than later since the longer you wait, the harder it will be. For now, go slowly and take things one step at a time.

If you want counseling, be sure to talk to your Lifetime Coordinator and request it. We have outside counselors that you can speak to. Remember there is no cost to you. Counseling may help you clarify your feelings and just because you feel sorrow or guilt, it does not mean that your decision to move forward with adoption was incorrect. This is a good time to evaluate if your living situation has changed; what were the reasons you chose to consider adoption in the first place?
