What happens in the event the baby is born and there are medical problems we feel we can’t handle?

It is very rare in this age of medical technology that we are unaware of medical issues prior to birth, but it can happen. We have families waiting who are prepared for the long-term needs of adopting a child with special needs. It is Lifetime’s policy to find homes for all our children and prevent them from going into the foster care system. In the event a child has drug exposure, we have families waiting who are willing and want to adopt a baby.
We never force a family to take a child home if they don’t feel that a child is meant for them. Birth parents appreciate the fact we have families for their children. In regards to your adoption plan, you would continue to be presented to birth mothers and be matched with a birth mother as soon as possible. There are no additional fees paid by the family.
