In Arizona, the timeline for legal documentation for adoption are as follows:

In general, the expectant or birth mother signs papers terminating her parental rights 72 hours after the birth. A birth father may surrender his parental rights by signing a Waiver of Notice or Denial of Paternity at any time, before or after the child’s birth. The adoption is irrevocable upon signing.
In addition, a home study is required and a judge will review the home study and other documentation and then finalize the adoption by issuing a final decree of adoption.
